she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for. my nose was bleeding and i had a fever, 2 days after finishing levaquin. asthma clinic sent me for a cat scan of my head which showed a horrible infection in my sinuses. coughing was out of control. they put me on a 2 wk regimen of avelox. i am not having any side effects from it, but infection continues to get worse. at this point i feel no end in sight for this infection.
@Tanjat's advice is perfect. I had c diff and boy oh boy it was no fun. The doctor treated me with antibiotics but my digestive system was still uneasy afterwards, but, it was florastor that gave me my life back. Best wishes and I hope that all gets better soon.
I got c-diff June of 2018 they would not test it because it was too thick, had cellulitis and was again put on zoxin got diarrhea again and my doctor tested me and it came back negative. Went on a trip to florida and had accidents in the car, the smell is very distictive. saw doc when I got home he got another sample and put me on vanco. I stopped having stomach problems immediatly althoud test still negative. shortly afterward I was hospitalied it started again.
Hi, just recovered from C Diff as well. Had it for 5 months and it took three extended rounds of antibiotics to completely knock it out, the last round being a six week vancomycin taper. I had many "false negative" lab results in between relapses. You didnt mention which med you took for your C Diff, but I just wanted to add that my first round was Flagyl, and it caused the numbness/tingling/swelling for me. The vancomycin did not.
I was on antibiotics most of the summer for various reason and then when I got a abscessed tooth the dentist gave me a antibiotic that in the end I got c-diff and was prescribed flagyl for 10 days. After taking the medication I felt better but now about a little over 2 weeks I have a tightness in my stomach and feel bloated, really gassy, plus my stool isn't diarrhea but is not really my normal stool. I also have an occasional discomfort under or right at my belly button.
my 1 year old daughter has c-diff and they put her on a antibiotic to treat her for it, she ran out of medicine a day early is that ok? she also still has diareah and it still has the smell it had when she had c-diff should i get her tested again.? is it normal for it not to go away after her taking medicind?
My dog is paralyzed from ruptured discs in her back despite surgery. She obviously has no bowel or bladder control secondary to this. She has been on antibiotics twice for a urinary tract infection in the last 16 months. She has never had diarrhea but since she does occasionally have an accident in the house, I was curious whether a human can get C diff from her.
For many years I have pains that pop up for no reason in joints and muscles and last for usually three to six months and then vanish. I get rashes and tiny red spots on my shins and then clear up. The rashes last about the same three to six months. I had these pains in both my shoulders at once, which almost never happens, so I thought it was my rotator cuffs going due to the work that I do.
Is there any safe way to treat the UTI when I may or may not still have C. Diff. For now, the only relief I get is drinking lots of water and cranberry juice--which results in many trips to the bathroom. If I don't drink water, it becomes quite miserable. The doctor says he cannot test for the presence of C. Diff. until I have been off Vancomycin for 2 weeks. Even still I really do not want to take another antibiotic now.

It must be something else beside C diff. C diff is normal bacteria within the colon, it should not cause problems in a healthy person.
It is possible clyndamicin triggered C diff overgrowth, and you get correct treatment. Are you sure you finished all cures completely (taken antib. all days as prescribed)?
1. It may be small intestinal bacterial overgowth OR

s, colitis, IBS, and c-diff, a positive c-diff test came back with only mild inflammation of the rectum(proctitus). She ended up being put in the hospital for 6 days due to the dehydration and uncontrollable pain and cramping. They put her on Vanco for 40 days along with an anti-inflammatory med for the proctitus. She has 2 more weeks of vanco and we are seeing daily improvement.
Three days ago we went back to the specialists for a follow-up visit.
Has anyone ever had c diff? I'm currently having symptoms of nausea and Diarrhea. Stool Testing is pending. I was told if my symptoms are severe to start taking flagyl, anyone ever been on this antibiotic? If so what was the outcome?? Ian really looking for some help and support, any help is welcomed.
