1125401 tn?1262898927 I did however have a very very high strep count (although no ovb signs of a strep infection, just fatigue) I had many courses of antibiotics but my strep level was, and still is still very high, has anyone else encountered this?? I obv went through all the testing to rule out everything else during my first year after my first attack but nothing showed up in my blood work. I am curious as to whether this is just a natural state for my body or if there is a link.

Avatar f tn This is a symptom I do know about. Many auto immune deseases cross over to other parts of the body. Please ask the doctors to check your liver function. AMA (Anti Mitocondrial Antibody) and ANA (Anti Nuclear Antibody. If you have developed PBC (Primary Biliary Cirrosis) or AIH (Auto Immune Hepatitis) you need to know about it. Avatar n tn “ASO is an antibody generated in response to infection by a specific type of bacteria called Group A streptococci. A serious strep infection will cause ASO levels to rise significantly. Therefore, a physician may order an ASO test to determine whether the person has a condition (e.g., endocarditis or rheumatic fever) related to a serious strep infection. The antistreptolysin-O (ASO) test is a blood test that measures levels of ASO in the blood.
4403156 tn?1354189853 My doctor believes it is all related to an auto-immune condition, however we have not been able to track down what that is. I have been tested for M.S., and that is negative. My blood tests came back negative for the RA factor and ANA antibodies. I have an elevated SED rate, and my red blood cell count is off.

Avatar n tn Hello, One of the tests commonly used to differentiate between Type 1s (who produce neglible, no insulin of our own) and Type 2s is called C-Peptide test. When that test comes back showing miniscule/no insulin production, then a person is said to have Type 1. As a general heuristic, if a person is young, of good weight or perhaps UNDERweight, and shows up with DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis), they can be presumed to have Type 1. Diabetes has been known for hundreds of year. Many hundreds.
1110718 tn?1258435594 ) The antibodies somehow mistake the ganglia for the strep infection. If you think your child has strep or has been exposed.... get a Titer count test. This is how the Drs. tell if your child has strep and it shows the level of strep-antibodies in your child's system. Your child may show absolutely zero signs of STREP or illness but still have it. Also, peanut butter, dairy, wheat, asthma medications may set off behavior issues or OCD or exacerbate the effect of the strep reaction.
Avatar n tn Approx 10 years ago I was diagnosed with auto immune hepatitis. Since then I have been asked several times is this Hepatitis C or what? I've always answered the same, they just told me auto immune hepatitis. Today I picked up labs showing stating my Glom Filt Rate, Est is 56 with normal from 60-128. I didn't even know what GFR was so I looked it up on the net and up pops Hepatitis C.

Avatar f tn I think this all started when I got a really bad strep throat infection. About two weeks after the infection pasted I started getting bad burning pains in my wrists when I move them (especially flexing them up or down) It was so bad I couldn't get dressed by myself in the morning) I started wrapping my wrist and that seemed to help.About a month later my wrists started to feel better, but I started getting the same pain in my ankles, and my left knee.

Avatar n tn Scarlet fever is just strep throat plus a skin rash, caused by group A Streptococcus bacteria. Inflamed kidneys are a rare but potentially serious side effect of any group A strep infection, so your doctor's caution in checking that out doesn't mean anything special. Many people carry strep in the nose and on the skin, without symptoms.
Avatar m tn So, about two weeks ago I started feeling just a slight pressure when I would urinate. I have a very tough time with my pretty little flora down there (recurrent yeast infections, recurrent BV) etc. I figured maybe it was an onset of another infection so I just brushed it off and tried to eat lots of yogurt and drink a ton of water to flush out whatever might be striking.
2030686 tn?1351688548 I apologize I was too quick to ask my question and wasn't didn't at all ask what I was intending. I also have interstitial cystitis which "may" be an auto immune disorder.
