If you took augmentin, and it cleared up for you, it was a UTI and not an STI.
You bought her clotrimazole? That's medication for a yeast infection, which can happen for lots of reasons, and is also not an STI.
Your wife is pregnant, though, and I understand why you are worried. After you've been off the augmentin for 3 weeks, test for all STIs to be able to put this behind you.
My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection). Now I have taken Augmentin xr for 2 wks along with Gentamicin ont no change in skin color still red and when water comes in contact gets redder! So doctor now has me on Augmention 875 and gentamicin cream the dosage is augumentin 2x day and gent cream 4x days !

I was prescribed augmentin 875 and I am taking that 2 times a day for the past 4 days now. I was also prescribed sudafed 4-6 hours that I have been taking for 2 days. Yesterday I started having trouble urinating and pain in my penis. I also had pain while ejaculating. This is still happening today. Do you think this is a side effect from the medicine or do I have a UTI or urethritis or something like that. I'm 18 years old and have never had these symptoms before.
Also my wife who was examined by her ob/gyne doctor was diagnosed for cervicitis and was prescribed ciprobay xr 500 mg for 3 days plus clindamycin.Now my questions would be;
1. What probably caused my prostatitis? 2. Was it because of my contact with another partner? 3. Would the prescribed co-trimoxazole for a month be enough to cure me? and lastly 3. Why were the medications which include azithromycin 1g OD, doxy 100 mg. for 5-7 days and levofloxacin 500 mg for 10 days failed to cure us?
I got really sick, and my doctor put me on the antiobiotic Augmentin XR(Amoxicillin clavulanic potassium). I am also taking some tylenol for fever. Asymptomatic urethral gonorrhea is uncommon in men, and testing is reliable. The asymptomatic person can be sure he doesn't have it.
There is no point in you being tested while taking augmentin.
I was diagnosed with epididymitis after a surgical procedure in early August. I was prescribed doxycycline and cipro and it seemed as if the swelling was going down and the pain was easing. After a few weeks, I ended up back at the ER 8/25 from pain and learned that the epidiymitis was caused by an UTI that must've occured after surgery. The doctor prescribed me doxycycline again. Things seemed to normalize but after I decided to seek other counsel.

I took the augmentin for 2wks and still felt horrible. I then went to a urologist who did not do a urine test just pulled it up from the records from urgent care and prescribed me gentimicin injections. I had 4 of these. All these time I felt like I had a UTI and yeast infection so they also treated me with the diflucan on multiple occasions 100mg for 5days and also 150g take one and another 3days later and also using all over the counter available creams.
