augmentin

Avatar n tn -like marks ... and the raised nature of the rash. I never had a rash with Lyme, but the photos I have seen are flatter, redder, and seem ... thinner. You can search on google under images for 'lyme rash'. There are a ton of them. If the doc can't tell from the tests whether he thinks it's Lyme, then the good news is that you saw the bite and acted right away, so antibiotics would stand a very good chance of heading off trouble.
Avatar f tn 4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness. Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
Avatar n tn Today he went outside again today from one house to another and the rash has come up again. What could this be. The Augmentin was stopped yesterday. He has not taken anything different. No change in any soaps or detergents in the last week.
Avatar n tn t believe it has something to do with Augmentin but I definitely do! Now my both knees are tingling. I took Augmentin before but I had no problem with it! Now I am out of work and need to see an ortho md and blood works for rheumatoid arthritis , lymes disease, etc.
Avatar n tn Sometimes it takes a while to feel lousy. Take a photo of your rashes and keep taking photos as long as there are changes. Keep all the photos -- cell phones photos are fine as long as they are clear enough to see. If the scale/size of the rash isn't obvious from the photo, then I'd hold a ruler next to the rash so the ruler shows in the photo how big the rash is. MDs get really interested when there is show AND tell. Look online for Lyme rash photos and see what you think. And ...
Avatar n tn The half life of Augmentin is approximately 1.3 hours, so whether there is any concentration of the medicine in her system depends on the timing of the dose. Some children are sensitive to Augmentin, but it would be unusual for a child to tolerate it during the day and have a problem only at night. Now, the fact that she has been ill complicates the picture, and you'll only be able to obtain a clear picture after she regains her normal health.
Avatar f tn I took azithromycin and rocephin injection as a precaution (before the swab results came back), and am currently taking Augmentin to get rid of the strep. I was feeling fine and healed until yesterday when my throat started to hurt again. I changed my toothbrush about 5 days into the antibiotic treatment and the next day it was hurting again. Is Augmentin good enough to treat this? Could it be coming back for some reason?
Avatar m tn I live in an are of NJ in which Lyme Disease is not uncommon. I removed an intact tick from my left shoulder blade area about 8 months ago. I didn't develop a "bulls-eye" rash but in the center - where the tick had actually been attached - there was a very dark red-brown surrounded by a thin whitish line and then a large red area around that. The area was sometimes itchy and sore and lasted for several weeks.
Avatar f tn Is this wound infected or healing? There's yellow gooey thing on top of my wound. Is it a scab or infection? I'm currently under Augmentin antibiotics and also i'm putting fucidin on top of my wound as suggested by my surgeon last two days. Avatar n tn After recovering from a serious upper respiratory infection (Amox with Augmentin prescribed), I broke out in a terribly itchy rash. At first it appeared to be like scabies, so was treated for that. Then, at times it was hive like (even the scratches raised up like hives). It is not everywhere, underarms, breasts, naval, lower abdomen, back. chest, shoulders, wrists, hands. There are many small bumps mixed with bigger hive like bumps. Very, very itchy. Calamine helps.
Avatar f tn I had an abscess in my right breast 10 years ago and it left a little lump after it healed. Two weeks ago I developed an abscess in the same spot. My GP recommended a week of antibiotics (Augmentin) and it started to drain on its own two days back. I feel a thickened area which hasn't gone down. Should I be worried? The abscess continues to drain slowly and I have covered it with sterilized gauze. Please help.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working. I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18. Thank you!!
250701 tn?1320974765 My lung Doctor called me in some augmentin because I have been coughing up thick yellow mucus. I just don't know if I can take it on treatment. Does anyone know??
Avatar n tn Initially, a primary plaque, called a herald patch, is seen. Then it is followed by a distinctive, generalized rash 1-2 weeks later. The rash lasts approximately 2-6 weeks and is found in a Christmas tree pattern over the trunk and abdomen. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.

237053 tn?1258828426 She has put me on a two week course of Augmentin. I was curious that if I did have Lyme would this antibiotic help? Also, does everyone Herx when they start treatment on antibiotics? I'm not even sure if this type of antibiotic would even have an effect on Lyme (if that is what I have). Just curious.
1788356 tn?1388521672 My 23 mo old boy has had an ear infection for a week and was prescribed augmentin. he was doing better but now his congestion is way worse, green mucus in nose and chest. today he broke out in a rapid spreading rash. it started on his buttocks and inner thighs, now it is on his legs , soles of his feet (which he is itching at crazily) and on his left arm. i soaked him in an oatmeal bath and covered him in hydrocortizone cream and gave him some benedryl.
Avatar f tn it was back and this time it went straight to dry inflamed mode. Augmentin did not help. In fact from all the augmentin I got yeast and/or BV. I was given flagyl which worked for 2 weeks then it all came back with a vengeance. I didn't just have vaginal inflammation but ulcerated sores in my rectum as well. I'm still suffering from that as medications didn't make it completely go away.
Avatar m tn Welcome to MedHelp -- It's a good question you are asking -- and we can give you some comments, but the best thing to do would be to take your baby to an MD who specializes in Lyme disease for an evaluation. Many docs think they are experts in Lyme, but there is a split in the medical community that makes it difficult sometimes to find a Lyme doc with an open mind. No one here is medically trained, so this is just unofficial commentary.
Avatar n tn I got it from a girl who unknowingly had a yeast infection while I was on an antibiotic known as Augmentin for a foot injury (which apparently made me vulnerable to contracting a yeast infection). He put me on dyflucan and over the counter topical cream. The dyflucan was supposed to also re stabilize my stomach bacteria because I was having horrible stomach cramps possibly due to the augmentin and the yeast infection apparently.
