i had a risky exposure and i am freakin out..at 4 mth mark i did tridot test in india..came back as negative..
but durin the 4 mthx period i felt sick often and had to take 2 course of antibiotics..augmentin 1 week and amoxyxilin 1 week durin the 4 mth period...
my question
1) is the 4 mth test result conclusive despite being given 2 courses of augmentin n amoxycilin?>??

I had unprotected sex once on 14th Jan 09(don't remember the exact date). It was with a CSW in india. I was drunk. It lasted about 20 minutes.
Around 27 Jan I had a cold and by 31 Jan I had 2 swollen lymph nodes on my neck(one behind the ear and one in cervical area). I did not have fever or a noticable sore throat.
I got very concerned and went to a GP and told him about the encounter. He ordered a test for RPR and HIV apart from a CBP and urine examination.

I had an encounter in early 2007 whereby I got either chlamydia or gonorrhea. I returned to my home country thereafter. 10 days after exposure, I started having penile pain & discharge along with frequent urination & burning feet/hands.The doctor gave me Azithromycin(1g), Doxy for a week, followed by Augmentin for a week. I was tested for VDRL-RPR, Urinalysis(numerous WBC's & 2+ Bacteria), Urine Culture(no growth), Chlamydia antigen(neg), Hep Panel, HIV, TPHA, HSV1, HSV2.
Lithotripsy was successfully was done to disintegrate a stone of 7mm in my left ureter in CMC Hospital, Vellore, India and the doctor advised me for EIU/BNI because of the bladder neck problem which has not yet been done.
Please advise me, if possible : What harm(s) may occur to me? How to get rid of the above problems? …for which I shall remain ever grateful to you.

Later, the Pharyngitis got worse and I had to take a dose of Augmentin after my Amox dose. With Augmentin it subsided, but I developed Allergic Rhinitis (as my sinuses cleared) and also started having mild eye infection (1st right eye and the then left). Since last two days I started having discomfort near my groin and passed a few drops of blood late last night with urine.
Today, I went for a Urine analysis and CBC and CMP. I got my urine analysis showing bacteria and (WBC count at 15.
I am from India, currently in Dallas, Tx, doing Research in SMU. My mom is now in India. She is 73 yrs old and suffering from bronchitis for long time and each time when she gets worse with her asthma, she was treated mostly with nebulizer (Duolin or Pulmocort) or maximum oxygen for 3-4 days and Deryphylin/Decadron injection and after the severe period, she used to take Seroflo and Tiova inhaler.

My doctor is 95% certain that this is not herpes and that it could be Chancroid - but we are still awaiting test results to rule out herpes. Meanwhile I am on antibiotics (Augmentin). If he is a carrier - then will he be a carrier his whole life or could they wipe it out with treatment? This is a really nice, older gentleman and he is going to be devastated if he has an STD. He was in a monogamous marriage for 30 years and divorced for the past 4 years.
Can I have your opinion Is everything fine with me.I was realy scared.
Just to Inform you, I am using Amoxcilin Augmentin 625mg, for Cold Zyorex..Its been 5 days and It looks I am Picking up well now. Doctor has advised me to complete the course for 7 days of Antibiotics..there is 2 days left and hope evrything Picks up well.
Can u suggest me some good medcine for Cold & Cough please?? when ever I cough yellow Flum with Saliva is comming out.

My name is Manjit Singh, i had a stomach infection in January,
My liver profile showed ggtp =332 and ALP=225. I was on Augmentin after that for 2 weeks. My liver enzyme were normal ( still Alp - 167) and abdominal pain was relieved. but during the course, i had bleeding and diarrhea due to heavy antibiotics.
After 1 month that i started having diarrhea and immediate stool after breakfast lunch dinner = burning in rt side of abdomen. doctor gave pantaprozole, Now its June .
My hair fell out in handfuls and it was awful. Long story short - amoxicillin and/or augmentin both worked wonders when the tetracyclines didn't do anything but harm. My hair shedding lessened within a week and is actually starting to grow back and in 10 days my skin was almost completely clear. Doctors NEVER want to admit when they may have made a mistake or when a different drug might help more, but it was a miracle for me. I hope my misery can help somebody.
The other way of clearing it fast is 7 days of augmentin (co-amoxiclav) but I don't like using antibiotics for this unless it's an emergency given my use as a teenager. I've always wondered if there is an underlying imbalance there, or whether it's some immune imbalance or a food intolerance or something.
I was first prescribed a zpack for what was supposed to be a sinus infection... then they thought it went to bronchitis... and I was given Augmentin... and it didn't help AT ALL. They then put me on Levaquin... and I felt better for a few days... and now am totally sick all over again.
I am miserable.... and totally feel you about not being able to take it anymore. I started crying this morning, because I'm exhausted from being sick. I am so unhappy.
