My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection). When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic.
It sounds like an external yeast infection did you rub the yeast infection cream on those areas? It could be that you need another round of the Diflucan sometimes it is so bad that one pill is not enough. What kind of soap do you use some soaps are too strong and cause yeast infections. Zest will I know and shower gels as well like the kind from bath and body works. Scrunchies can transmit yeast infections if you unknowingly used one during a yeast infection.
I got it from a girl who unknowingly had a yeast infection while I was on an antibiotic known as Augmentin for a foot injury (which apparently made me vulnerable to contracting a yeast infection). He put me on dyflucan and over the counter topical cream. The dyflucan was supposed to also re stabilize my stomach bacteria because I was having horrible stomach cramps possibly due to the augmentin and the yeast infection apparently.
I have the exact same symptoms! I felt like I was reading my own story when I read your post. For me it Started 5 years ago after a root canal. Don't know if that has anything to do with it, but coincidental that you had that same issue. I have not been able to find a doctor that can help. It's not yeast, not bv, not std, low ph. My money is on lactobacillus overgrowth! Super frustrating! I take a bath most every day and completely rinse everything out.
I was on Augmentin (antibiotic) for a foot infection about a month ago and then soon started developing stomach cramps. I figured the cramps were related to what was wrong with my penis. The doctor said the antibiotics killed off the good AND bad bacteria in my stomach leaving me vulnerable to contracting this yeast infection, even on my penis head. Does this sound unusual, just kinda looking for opinions!
they can also test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too. augmentin is reknown for causing vaginal yeast but certainly get seen and if they feel that anything looks like herpes, they can do a lesion culture and typing.
have you ever been tested for hsv2 to know your status? do your partners get tested?
The reason I am asking is because I was exposed to needless antibiotics in an ER then my testicals turned red like a yeast issue, then I had 10 days of 4000mgs of Augmentin for a constipation/colon infection. Then after a week of concluding that I developed gastritis for the first time, and a thrush.
I also had to start taking another round of antibiotics this week for a sinus infection (Augmentin 500mg). As of now, my vagina feels very dry, almost raw. I am also having some white discharge (not like cottage cheese) and a white light layer all over the inside of my vagina; it looks like tiny white clumps inside on my labia. I went to Planned Parenthood after I noticed what seemed to be a tear or scratch in my inner labia majora alongside the clitoris.
3 days later, I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with a yeast infection. 14 days later I had symptoms again and went to the doctor again. He said I still had a yeast infection and gave me more medicine. My symptoms never went completely away and now I have some burning again. I have had no bumps but I have one spot that is still red and irritated. Could this be herpes or some other infection? Is this too long a timeline?
I am taking Augmentin for a sinus infection that has now cleared up, but it gave me a yeast infection. I used the capsule of Monistat 1, but I don't think I got it in high enough because the next time I went to the bathroom most of it was between my labia. Fast forward a day and now I have five or side hard lumps under my mons pubis on the left side. I occasionally get these lumps and they go away, but never this many before.
About 3 weeks ago, I found pin sized bumps on my groin area just below my belt line ( i have a small beer belly so it hangs over my belt) I waited 2 weeks before going to the dermatologist, He took a biopsy and have now been in agony freaking myself out for the last 2 weeks over what it could be and my appointment is on thursday.
And strep can be a little resistant. Augmentin does usually knock it out though. I took antibiotics for a full month around the clock for a tooth issue (yes, 4 times a day and got up at night or it). I was fine during. About two weeks after stopping, all heck broke loose in my GI track. I did get a yeast infection and treated that. BUT, I had a day in which I was horribly ill. I had stomach cramping, nausea and diarrhea. It was brutal.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

I then did a course of augmentin. I went to the dr. and was diagnosed with a relatively mild yeast infection and given a diflucan. A week later I was still having symptoms so I was given another diflucan. I took that on Tuesday and it's now Saturday and while it's gotten a little better I'm still itching and have a little bit of discharge. I am so done with this thing but my Doctor's office is closed on the weekends. Should I try another OTC 3 day treatment?
( Symptoms include itching especially at night, red rash in the creases that burn, red-brown single spots, my vag is a little sore, no discharge, slight tears in hood of clit and on anus, bump on perineum, everytime I use the bathroom my anus spots blood. Itching did get better after shaving. My Pap Smear came back as LSIL mild dysplasia with HPV effects. I have Herpes 1 so I tried my Val but it didnt do anything.
t yet developed the infection, as would be indicated by the presence of a lesion or a positive blood test, than it takes for curative treatment. The augmentin taken twice daily for two weeks would certainly cure and prevent development of syphilis. The combination of cefixime and azithromycin would most probably prevent infection but it would not be curative if the infection was established.
On 15th November, I underwent blood and urine tests and were negative for HiV , VDRL. The usg scan for penis, abdomen and Doppler for scrotal were normal as well. I masturbated once after that and had intolerable pain on the left region of my penis. Recently I had tests for herpes and HIV by prc method and the results were negative as well. When I retract the foreskin, I can see a minute trail ofwhite dots.
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
After having a throat infection for 13 years (Lingual Tonsillitis which has irritated the hyoid bone), I found an ENT who diagnosed me and put me on a few medications to bring down the inflammation. I was put on Prednisone for 14 days, Augmentin and generic Prilosec/omeprazole 20mg. As of a week ago wed the inflammation was down 75% and I was feeling much better after being sick for so long.
I recently took a 10 day course of augmentin for strep throat or tonsillitis (I took the prescription prior to testing to see which). Toward the end of the treatment, I started to experience some mild discomfort after urninating. Weeks later I am still experiencing that discomfort, in varying degrees. Usually if I am better hydrated it is milder. It is never terrible, just a mild burning or itching. The location is toward the tip of the penis, but inside.
