Help...had major toothache 10 days ago..x-ray revealed minor decay. Dentist said it should not have caused major tooth ache but set aug 2 for repair. woke up monday 6/25 with gum below tooth swollen..called dentist. I apparently had told them funny reaction to amoxicillian but could take augmentin..so they ordered augmentin.(I should write down..at 72 memory loss) One Augmentin pill & I threw up for 12 hours finishing at 3 AM this morning! Suppositories Fam Dr called in helped...
Because of the swelling my dentist told me to take Co-Augmentin (Amocivlab) twice a day for 7 days then after that she will do the extraction. The medicine relieves the pain. I'm worried that the dental xray and tooth extraction can harm the baby in my womb. However I'm also worried because my tooth is already infected and I can no longer tolerate the pain.
So I am not in pain as MUCH as I was. The toothache is officially gone, thanks to the Augmentin or Amox-Clav. The leg pain still bothers me a lot before the next dose, but I don't really seem to mind it really...
The tooth underneath the crown is a blackish-blue color and I have a raging toothache. The dentist said to take antibiotics for a week and then come back for him to re-do the root canal and *try* to save this tooth. The pain continued for several days and now I have a horrible ear infection (but on the ear on the other side). I am now on 4000 mg of Augmentin for the ear w/ruficin (sp) shot as well.
my doctor told me ask my dentist for prescription Augmentin... It's a antibiotic... It's safe while you are pregnant.
boy i sure feel ya. Ive had a baaaaad toothache for about 4 or 5 days now!!! This isnt my first bad tooth though, ive had this problem forever it seems. I also dont have any kind of insurance. I still have a bottom molar tooth that broke off below the gum over a YEAR ago now still sitting there cuz I cant afford to have it removed. It needs surgery to get out the way that it is and they wanted I think around 1300 just for that single tooth extraction!
I want to mention here that I have been on modication from last 3 weeks, first week with augmentin for wisdom toothache and than with cyprofloxacin for 15 days for mycoplasma genitallium. While on cypro I have travelled to europe with a temperature contrast from 28 degrees celcius to -2 degree celcius. During all this time I am extremely alarmed and under great fear. I will get tested again soon but this white discoloured spot is making me so so scared.
I had a very bad toothache and infection. Had a root canal and the infection just wont go away...there is no pain just swelling of jaw...tenderness in nose and on inside of mouth on gum when pressure is applied..Tooth is turning slightly black......tooth is sensitive to flossing.....stiffness of my neck..inward heat on side of face where the infection is....irritation of eye on side of infection...
He wrote me a different script of antibiotics called Augmentin. He said to take one every 12 hours. He also wrote a script for oxycodone 5/325 since the 7.5 mg hydrocodone didn't do anything for the pain. He said to call back in the morning and let him know how I'm doing. I got the scripts filled and took 2 off the pain killers. It did absolutely nothing for the pain. By now it was 10 pm. It got to the point it was so painful my wife took me to the ER.
thanks for info - just after shot 6 my doc tested for thyroid and for 4 weeks bloodwork includes thyroid check. i'm glad he tests early for this.
It was not an infection, antibiotics(800 mg augmentin) did not ease the pain. My pcp gave me a non narcotic med for the head pain and it helped, I can not remember the name.
I was given ampicillin, there's also Augmentin and Pen V-K. For folks allergic to penicillin, they give you erythromycin, but it's definitely a second-choice drug. I sure hope your foolish choices aren't going to cause a worse problem for you. When you came here, you didn't know you'd have 500 people acting like your mama coming down on you, did ya? ;-) I hope you'll feel better by tomorrow. Did you tell the new dentist's receptionist that it was an emergency?
34 years old - overweight (285) Ultrasound - normal Blood work - normal CT scan - only indication is slightly enlarged spleen Have been on Cipro for one week Have taken flagyl for three days - just stopped because of side effects maybe from flagyl (headace, chills, stomach spasms). Pain is not diminishing. I'm thinking the gall bladder. My doc is looking at diverticulitus, but my pain is in upper right quadrant, not the usual place for this. I know he's going to try barium enema next.
The swelling is not consistient, some days it is bigger than others but never bigger than my thumb which apparently is a normal size for the gland anyways. It just feels firmer to me. It happens on both sides but the right side seems to get affected more when it does happen. it does not hurt really unless I play with it and sometimes it leads to a slight discomfort in my ears but never pain. Is this normal to have happen?
This regimen helps for about 3 to 4 hours but it always returns. I took Lunesta for a couple of times but not 2 nights in a row. Thats the only common thread I can see. Hope this helps.
In February of this year I got a CT scan and the ENT doctor said I have a severe deviated septum with chronic sinusitis. I was treated for a sinus infection and that was it. I still felt bad so I went to a neurologist. He wrote it off as a vestibular problem. I did vestibular therapy for 2 months with almost no relief. In May when allergy season started, everything got worse. I have had nonstop sinus pressure/pain, headache, dizziness, major eye strain, my face is sore, my teeth are sore.
