I went to see my GP and he prescribed me. Cipro for 5 days....then Amoxicillan Augmentin for 10 days....and then finally Doxcylcline for 10 days. The symptoms have not gone away....and some days the symptoms are very mild and I feel it has gone away.....only to come back again. (1) Would the antibacterial treatments I received have cleared gonorrhea in the throat? (2) Will it clear on its own since from infection possible date to today have been almost 15 weeks.
Anyone have a good opinion on best antibiotics combo for across the board prevention of the bacterial STDs. What I mean is say u were exposed to something potentially risky and figure i may as well take post-exposure antibiotics.

On the other hand, you could have gotten either NGU or gonorrhea from her performing it on you. The best way to assess this is with an examination and testing for gonorrhea or white blood cells in either your urine or in a swab from your penis. To be honest, I think it is very unlikely that you got an STD of any sort from the exposure you describe.

m still concerned about it being oral gonorrhea since I did not receive the specific treatment for that, but I read that oral gonorrhea clears up within 3 months anyway, and I've read about studies where Augmentin, Azithromycin, and Doxycycline have had an effect on the disease. I called the health department to see if they did swab tests and they don't.
Is it likely that I caught oral gonorrhea?
I would suggest stop medication for a couple of weeks and retest, I don't see how you would still have gonorrhea after all of this.

I had an encounter in early 2007 whereby I got either chlamydia or gonorrhea. I returned to my home country thereafter. 10 days after exposure, I started having penile pain & discharge along with frequent urination & burning feet/hands.The doctor gave me Azithromycin(1g), Doxy for a week, followed by Augmentin for a week. I was tested for VDRL-RPR, Urinalysis(numerous WBC's & 2+ Bacteria), Urine Culture(no growth), Chlamydia antigen(neg), Hep Panel, HIV, TPHA, HSV1, HSV2.
Due to a recent oral sex encounter, I got tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia in the throat. Those swabs were done with the Aptima Combo 2 Assay and came back negative. I took azithromycin and rocephin injection as a precaution (before the swab results came back), and am currently taking Augmentin to get rid of the strep. I was feeling fine and healed until yesterday when my throat started to hurt again.
Two days later I was treated for a sinus infection and was prescribed 875mg augmentin 2x day for 7 days. Exactly 5 days after the exposure I noted some mild burning and pain at the tip of my penis. I have a history of prostatitis and I believe that's what this was (perineum pain, mild tip of penis pain). No pain on urination and no discharge. The symptoms resolved after about 10 days.
