My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection). When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic.
It sounds like an external yeast infection did you rub the yeast infection cream on those areas? It could be that you need another round of the Diflucan sometimes it is so bad that one pill is not enough. What kind of soap do you use some soaps are too strong and cause yeast infections. Zest will I know and shower gels as well like the kind from bath and body works. Scrunchies can transmit yeast infections if you unknowingly used one during a yeast infection.
The dyflucan was supposed to also re stabilize my stomach bacteria because I was having horrible stomach cramps possibly due to the augmentin and the yeast infection apparently. Weeks passed and my stomach cramps subsided but not the issue with my penis. The same symptoms are still there and I am now on a prescription strength cream known as Oxistat. I have been on this for over a week now with no noticeable signs of it clearing up.
it was back and this time it went straight to dry inflamed mode. Augmentin did not help. In fact from all the augmentin I got yeast and/or BV. I was given flagyl which worked for 2 weeks then it all came back with a vengeance. I didn't just have vaginal inflammation but ulcerated sores in my rectum as well. I'm still suffering from that as medications didn't make it completely go away.
I was on Augmentin (antibiotic) for a foot infection about a month ago and then soon started developing stomach cramps. I figured the cramps were related to what was wrong with my penis. The doctor said the antibiotics killed off the good AND bad bacteria in my stomach leaving me vulnerable to contracting this yeast infection, even on my penis head. Does this sound unusual, just kinda looking for opinions!
they can also test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too. augmentin is reknown for causing vaginal yeast but certainly get seen and if they feel that anything looks like herpes, they can do a lesion culture and typing.
have you ever been tested for hsv2 to know your status? do your partners get tested?
The reason I am asking is because I was exposed to needless antibiotics in an ER then my testicals turned red like a yeast issue, then I had 10 days of 4000mgs of Augmentin for a constipation/colon infection. Then after a week of concluding that I developed gastritis for the first time, and a thrush.
Hi final found some answers An yes I did get a yeast infection and bacteral vagonsis from the augmentin I was then put on Flagyl for that, never want to take that stuff again made me sick. I was positive for type 1, new infected My IgG was only at 7.2, she said it should be 9.0 she will test me again in 6 weeks. the Culture was positive for herpes 1. I guess I had both going on bacteriainfection and the herpes.
After visiting a women’s health center (about two weeks ago) because of these symptoms, I was diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis(BV), but the metrogel I was prescribed gave me a yeast infection. I am taking Augmentin for a sinus infection that has now cleared up, but it gave me a yeast infection. I used the capsule of Monistat 1, but I don't think I got it in high enough because the next time I went to the bathroom most of it was between my labia. so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.
About 3 weeks ago, I found pin sized bumps on my groin area just below my belt line ( i have a small beer belly so it hangs over my belt) I waited 2 weeks before going to the dermatologist, He took a biopsy and have now been in agony freaking myself out for the last 2 weeks over what it could be and my appointment is on thursday.
About two weeks after stopping, all heck broke loose in my GI track. I did get a yeast infection and treated that. BUT, I had a day in which I was horribly ill. I had stomach cramping, nausea and diarrhea. It was brutal. After that day, I was left with unrelenting diarrhea. I thought I had C diff. I didn't but did have a GI tract stripped of normal flora.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

I then did a course of augmentin. I went to the dr. and was diagnosed with a relatively mild yeast infection and given a diflucan. A week later I was still having symptoms so I was given another diflucan. I took that on Tuesday and it's now Saturday and while it's gotten a little better I'm still itching and have a little bit of discharge. I am so done with this thing but my Doctor's office is closed on the weekends. Should I try another OTC 3 day treatment?
( Symptoms include itching especially at night, red rash in the creases that burn, red-brown single spots, my vag is a little sore, no discharge, slight tears in hood of clit and on anus, bump on perineum, everytime I use the bathroom my anus spots blood. Itching did get better after shaving. My Pap Smear came back as LSIL mild dysplasia with HPV effects. I have Herpes 1 so I tried my Val but it didnt do anything.
ve been experience throbbing pain around upper right teeth, my cheek, front and back of my head, and I have swollen painful gum around my right side of my face, and I right shoulder is aching. And I think lymph nose under my chin is swollen. The right side of my face, neck, around ear and back of my head hurt if I push those areas. But I do not have a runny or stuffy nose. I do know that there is a little drainage going down the back of my throat, but it is really a little amount.

4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
It most commonly occurs due to bacterial, viral or fungal infection. An intertrigo usually appears red and raw-looking, and may also itch, ooze, and be sore.
Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical zinc oxide cream like Sudocrem, Desitin are very helpful(apply with a paper towel and not directly with hands).
