I am a myoclonic seizure patient and due to this UTI issue Am on no sleep. Not good for seizure condition. The Dr. was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!!

If you took augmentin, and it cleared up for you, it was a UTI and not an STI.
You bought her clotrimazole? That's medication for a yeast infection, which can happen for lots of reasons, and is also not an STI.
Your wife is pregnant, though, and I understand why you are worried. After you've been off the augmentin for 3 weeks, test for all STIs to be able to put this behind you.
December 16, 2016, diagnosed with UTI was placed on the antibiotic Bactrim, symptoms did not go away went to the walk in clinic they repeated the urine and it showed UTI. Placed me on Cipro symptoms were not any better,culture from walk in showed contamination so they wanted to repeat the specimen. Went to the clinic and gave a repeat specimen, it showed Entercoccus was placed on Augmentin. From research I have found that the only thing that works on Entercoccus bacteria is vancomycin.

I was prescribed augmentin 875 and I am taking that 2 times a day for the past 4 days now. I was also prescribed sudafed 4-6 hours that I have been taking for 2 days. Yesterday I started having trouble urinating and pain in my penis. I also had pain while ejaculating. This is still happening today. Do you think this is a side effect from the medicine or do I have a UTI or urethritis or something like that. I'm 18 years old and have never had these symptoms before.
about 3 weeks ago i experienced vaginal burning/itching, went to gyno, swabbed for multiple stds, bacteria, and yeast. all came back negative, but he put me on 7 days of augmentin anyway. symptoms subsided. the morning after i took my last augmentin, i woke up with severe pain/cramping in my bladder and needed to urinate about every 20 min. got a home uti test, it was negative.

On the 6th of July this year I have been diagnosed with UTI, as I had discharge and also while urinating I felt terrible pain in my penis( there was blood in the urine as well). Doctors gave me Augmentin and everything seemed to be fine, but a week later I felt discomfort in my left testicle, ultrasound showed that nothing is wrong with both of the testicles, they made ultrasound twice to be sure.
I was prescribed doxycycline and cipro and it seemed as if the swelling was going down and the pain was easing. After a few weeks, I ended up back at the ER 8/25 from pain and learned that the epidiymitis was caused by an UTI that must've occured after surgery. The doctor prescribed me doxycycline again. Things seemed to normalize but after I decided to seek other counsel.
so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.
My internist called me and asked if I had any pain or burning. I do not. She said I prob have UTI and started me on Augmentin for 10 days. I received the results at home from lab and am concerned about results. WBC Esterace 3+, WBC>30,RBC 11-30, Epithelial Cells {NON RENAL] >10 ,Bacteria few. The culture came up 50000-100000 Group B strep. My dr acted like this is no big deal when I called her to discuss results. Should I just calm down?
Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. I had oral sex again with the asymptomatic guy again on 4/11. I was informed by the guy who developed gonorrhea of all this today, 4/14, and have not had sex with him since before his symptoms began.
I took 2 doses and broke out in a rash all over and had to stop the anti. I called Dr. back and they said to wait and see if it gets worse. It seemed a little better and I saw this person 2 more times in the same month. The day after the 3rd visit i woke up in excruciating pain and could hardly walk. I felt like i had to urinate and it was so very difficult i almost passed out from the pain. What did come out was large chunks of fleshy blood enough to fill a cup and globs of white mucous.
2) Is doxycycline the usual treatment for STDs? and not treatment for UTI ? If my pain is reduced due to doxycycline does it mean I belong to STD problem?
3) can an STD show up positive on a UTI test (blood + urine)? I think the doctor only took the UTI test because I don't have a partner and don't have sex. it is possible that they focus on UTI. but the result is negative. no infection.
There is usually no discharge, itching or anything like you would get if you had a yeast infection, and a UTI is SO easy to get from having sex. Especially if you didn't use the bathroom immediately after sex.
All you have to do at the doctor's office is pee in a cup, no exam neccessary, so don't hesitate or it will get worse.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Hi, Im 48 and until recently very healthy (professional choreographer). 2 yrs ago got an acute kidney infection ( high fever, blood in pee, the works) which was treated with augmentin. since then, I keep getting less acute infections and they come back every 3 months. Low fever, very tired, abdominal swelling (a lot), back pain, urine strips show white blood cells and protein and occasionally nitrates.
