so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Today I awoke with a stiff neck which progressively became worse as the day went on. Now 12 hours later the pain has spread down my back and to all my joints. Could this bee the Augmentin or something more severe.

you came for advice and the advice was sound. The cure for oral ghonnorhea is not augmentin as advised by the CDC and I think you will find if you rephrased your question and asked the docs what the reccomended cure would be they would not even list augmentin or amoxicillin. AJ is exceptionally knowledgeable in STD's if you don;t like the advice find your reassurances elsewhere. Good luck I wish you all the best.

It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife.
The problem here isn't just STD; you apparently are reacting emotionally to the sexual event, perhaps conflicted about your own sexual orientation or preferences. But this isn't a counseling service, so that will be all for this thread.
He thought I had a secondary infection in the uterus and gave me Augmentin to take along with the other I am taking. It has been 36 hours and my breast is still really red and sore. I don't know what to do! I am worried that it may lead to sepsis?? Or should I not be worried since I am taking augmentin? It is the weekend, so I can't call my doc again. I haven't had a recurrence of fever or chills. Was the fever just a symtom of Mastitis?
I went to the doctor and he gave two shots, one that same day and the other on the following one. He told me that the second shot was because I had started this "self-imposed" treatment and the bacteriae could have won resistance...
Augmentin did stop the discharge the first day I took it though, but it was obivously not a solution.

I am taking Augmenting and i'm experiencing the same symptoms as you do. I googled and found your question. I guess it is related.... did your symptoms stopped after you quit taking the medicine?
I am not sure why they bother to run the culture if they are going to give you Augmentin anyway...Oh well. My guess is that this is a viral infection, your description is more consistent with that. The two medications, Augmentin and Valtrex, do not interact and there shouldn't be a concern with taking both. I just doubt you need both.

ve been experience throbbing pain around upper right teeth, my cheek, front and back of my head, and I have swollen painful gum around my right side of my face, and I right shoulder is aching. And I think lymph nose under my chin is swollen. The right side of my face, neck, around ear and back of my head hurt if I push those areas. But I do not have a runny or stuffy nose. I do know that there is a little drainage going down the back of my throat, but it is really a little amount.
anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
Hi, Iam 12wks pregnant. I was given augmentin sr tablets to treat a sinus infection. The doc said it's safe but I am scared to take it.
When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic. Dr said that if it went away on Augmentin then it must be bacterial - but why would he then prescribe a yeast medication (spandnox -sorry about spelling) - wouldnt augmentin make yeast worse? Has anyone has a similar situation and had success treating the infection?? What was it treated with successfully? Is it possible this is a problem related to Group B strep??
A month ago, 2 parts(15 cent size) of my scalp started oozing,
First Dr- said it is infection, gave me Bactrim(for 10 days) after 10 days scalp is still ozzing got bigger.
Second Dr- said it is fungus,gave me Nizoral shampoo, after 3 days my face was having allergy reaction from the shampoo. stoped oozing is getting begger.
Third Dr- said it is infection, gave me Augmentin. after 3 days i have rash all of my body start with lower arms and lower part of my leg.
