Augmentin and nightmares

Common Questions and Answers about Augmentin and nightmares

I took the antibiotic which seemed to clear up what I thought was a sinus infection but I still wasn't feeling better and my glands were very swollen (they still are too a degree). The doctor prescribed Augmentin due to the remaining swollen glands and remaining flu like symptoms. On April 16th, I had tingling in my hands and feelings of pure exhaustion. My blood pressure was lower than normal (for me) and I felt somewhat light headed.
I have been taking Remeron(Mirtazapine) for 5 1/2 years for insomnia and anxiety. It has many side effects; non-stop appetite, weight gain, lethargy, depersonalization, derealization (removed from reality), nightmares, memory problems(foggy head) . I have tried to quit a dozen times or more. I've tapered slowly, quit cold turkey, and substituted other medicines such as elavil.
I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
What going on w/you doesn't seem like a part of withdrawals anymore. The nightmares are just like mine were. That does get better, and I'm sure you're not having them everynight anymore, huh? I hope you can get some medical answers soon. Do your doctors know about your detox?
On 4th September, I visited an ENT specialist at the hospital and was told that I had Sinusitis and Rhinitis. My nose was running and I felt alot of congestion. I don't feel that now but my ears are ringing and I feel very tired and lethargic. My thinking is foggy and I feel shivery and cold. I am sometimes a bit nauseas and dizzy. I am worse in the mornings, usually feeling a bit better as the day progresses. I have been off work and feel that I don't probably have the energy to return.
It is effective with bacterial and viral infections, and some but not all fungal infections. The Flip-Turn is the original, and still the best Sinus Flush. WARNING! DISCLAIMER! The technique in this manual involves bending over in a hot shower. Obviously, if you bend over in a shower, there is a slight possibility that you can get dizzy and fall down. You could possibly hit your head, get knocked out, or break something.
I've been running low grade fevers and like everyone withdrawing feeling pretty lousy and run down. And lots of headaches. And oh so tired. Anyway, I have a little bit of a history, in addition to the fibromyalgia and chronic pain issues I have pretty serious sinus issues. For the last 4 months or so I had several SERIOUS sinus infections as well as an orbital cellulitis infection that landed me in the hospital. It was pretty scary and pretty bad.
Have you ever used "augmentin" antiobiotic? This one is very powerful and expensive if you don't have insurance; worth a try if you can afford it. I would recommend going to an infectious doctor because you need to build your immune system.
I was in the middle of the course and still had the mucous, however, it spread to my lungs and so I was blowing and coughing up phlegm (now green). I gave up and made an appointment to see my internist. He asked me why I hadn't gone to him first and I really didn't think it was that big a problem at the time. My doctor asked me to stop the Augmentin and start a course of 10 days worth of Levaquin. Also, he wanted me to go to an ENT.
for a sever sinus infection and to follow-up after sinus surgery to knock out the infection... i was on Augmentin for 45 days andhad some issues with that and have felt relief to b eon the Cipro, but about four days into the Cipro I have developed Sever dry eyes... Though it was related to the toxins from the infection, but perhaps it is the "cure" and not the infection... this drug is scaring me now... I'm going to see my Doc tomorrow and will talk to him about it...
At the tender age of two, she was diagnosed with acute asthma and that is when our worst nightmares were unleashed! She constantly had the post nasal drip from the hay fever she suffered, but worse than that was the bronchial bouts with asthma. Her lungs would fill up with mucus and choke all the breath out of her. She would often cough until throwing up but didn't get relief even from that.
I was first prescribed a zpack for what was supposed to be a sinus infection... then they thought it went to bronchitis... and I was given Augmentin... and it didn't help AT ALL. They then put me on Levaquin... and I felt better for a few days... and now am totally sick all over again. I am miserable.... and totally feel you about not being able to take it anymore. I started crying this morning, because I'm exhausted from being sick. I am so unhappy.
Nothing happened while I was taking them, but in the weeks and months following, I'm suffering from fatigue, weakness, insomnia, nightmares, sore joints and muscles, headache, dry mouth white tongue, dizziness, etc..... I've tested neg for everything so my doc said it could be myco. I'm also told by my doc that there is nothing left to take and moxi is practically 100%. I don't know if it's mycoplasma or adverse moxi effects. I'm in Canada and have no means to test for it here.
I have had chronic bacterial infections in my sinuses, tonsels and throat for the past two months and have been on many rounds of antibiotics, my infections are gone but I was left with a strong deep cough and now phlegm and swelling in my throat. No doctors have been able to tell me what it could be, my ear nose throat specialist said it was most likely acid reflux disease, but I don't buy that.
creepy crawling sensations, crabbiness, neck tightening, migraines, headache, dizziness, fatigue, nausea after eating, loss of memory, increased negative thought, suicidal ideation, insomnia, crazy dreams and nightmares, chills, anxiousness, irritability, crying spells, increased anxiety, inability to want to get out of bed, and a feeling of strangeness. I kept thinking to myself 'Is this what I really am? A big old mess that can not control herself? Was I like this before the meds?
most of the time i will stay awake for up to 3days and then sleep 2hrs waking up with nightmares .. lets just say it sucks and it seems the more you stress out the worst things seem to get.. stress like shock (when in a accident) is basically like a poison that can affect you in all sorts of ways and i know me saying to you try not to stress is like saying try flying just jump out the window but here it is anyway,, try not to stress to much ..
Five months after the implant I elected to have the swine flu vaccination which resulted in a numb feeling and tingling in the extremities along with diarrhea and dizziness that subsided after a few days. Since then the tingling has combined with the aching in the lower extremities and progressed upward to include the thighs. Exercise makes all of the symptoms worse, as I experience severe aching and muscle twitching after any kind of physical activity.
no symptoms and last time I had symptoms. I was bloated and had cramping and very swollen breasts. This time nothing. I feel like any second I could get AF and should on Monday or Tuesday. Anyone else never have symptoms but test positve with the Dr. Pinkpanter-there is really no knowing when the IVF will work. My worked on the first try but I know people who have tried 9 times. Go for it!
