I recently took augmentin for three days, had to discontinue because of allergic reaction ( rash, jitters, fever)
Today I awoke with a stiff neck which progressively became worse as the day went on. Now 12 hours later the pain has spread down my back and to all my joints. Could this bee the Augmentin or something more severe.

Once after an allergic reaction to Clindamycin and again after an allergic reaction to Augmentin. Both times I gave her hydroxyzine and all the symptoms disappeared. She is in the 80-90 percentile for height and weight for her age, she is very active and healthy. She does not complain of any muscle or joint pain. We recently saw a neurologist and an allergist. All findings on physical examination were totally normal in fact she is advanced on her coordination.
I have had this for over two weeks now. Mainly on my lower arms. I am taking Augmentin for a sinus infection that has now cleared up, but it gave me a yeast infection. To set you mind at ease, I suggest seeing another ophthalmologist so see what is going on, because I sense that you have lost confidence in the last one. Maybe you have diabetes or glaucoma or an allergic reaction to one of the drops at the office. Sorry, I can;t offer much more. Somewhat vague symptoms, unclear cause. Bactrim (sulfamethoxanole/trimethropim) is associated with several clinically different skin reactions. From your post it seems to an allergic reaction. It could be an allergic response to a food product or an environmental allergen like dust, smoke, pollen etc.
Only an allergy test will help in pin pointing the exact cause of the allergic reaction.
Regarding the numbness and muscle twitching, please get a blood sugar test done to rule out diabetes. Also Vitamin B6 and B12 deficiency can cause numbness in various parts of the body.

This is the second time this has happened to me within the last month. I have been having an allergic reaction to something unknown. Allergic reactions just happen. One day your body may tolerate a certain medication or food just fine ... and then another day you have swelling, itching, hives, swelling and trouble breathing! Yes, it's that quick sometimes. Your reaction time must be quick as well. As caregiver said, you need to carry either a 'epi-pen' or whatever medication(s) you and your Dr agree would be best in case of an allergic episode! Best of luck - take care!
