920032 tn?1550680156 lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.
1315759 tn?1274044788 instead of getting better, it was staying the same and making me feel out of control. how can i get my doctor to prescribe me a pulse ox for at home? i am on medicad and medicare and i am sure that if he prescribed it to me, that they would let me have one.
Avatar f tn I do use Advair discuss for my Asthma (under control now) and Aerius daily along with Atrovent that my allergist gave me prescription for years now. Why is it bad to use a nose spray for long periods. If I don't I have post nasal drip all the time even out of allergy seasons. It's just been a really bad bad year for pollen in Quebec, Canada. Thanks for info again.
Avatar f tn My son has suffered that for years. We finally went to a university hospital where they did all the typical GERD related test and as soon as they discovered he actually had GERD, it seemed like they concentrated on that as being the source of his cough, and stopped listening to what he was telling them, that the cough would start as soon as he ate food. It didn't have enough time to get to his stomach and then start to regurge.
Avatar f tn Yes, Atrovent is ipratropium bromide is used for COPD. I use Duoneb which is a combination of albuterol and ipratropium. You are making me wonder if I can manage with ipratropium alone. I have never tried it. I will ask my lung doctor. I use a portable nebulizer. With that I can take as little as I need (or as much).
Avatar m tn The primary treatment is simply avoiding the things that trigger your symptoms, so try alternate washrooms and see if you develop the same symptoms. It is often treated with a drying nasal spray (like Atrovent) and antihistamines like chlorpheniramine and loratadine are effective. Nasal decongestant drops too relieve congestion. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. Regards.
212161 tn?1599427282 Hello... I have asthma and take Flovent 2xday and used to take Combivent as needed. My Dr switched me from Combivent to Atrovent. With Atrovent, I find that it doesn't cause my heart to race as much as it did when using the Combivent.
Avatar f tn I am taking atrovent for asthma and i was wondering if i should be spitting out phlem after i take a treatment or does it just break the phlem up and i spit it out whenever?
Avatar f tn He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids. He directed me to take both atrovent and ventolin 2 times a day for a month but I don't really have a long term treatment plan. The doctor seemed a bit stumped as to what else to do. I am suffering from some symptoms almost all the time and regularly have fairly bad attacts. I am very glad to have the ventolin but I'm hoping to find long term treatment for the underlying problem.
Avatar m tn Please advise on my prognosis and how can i change my life style so that maybe i will have a better chance. How about the LVH? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed. She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes. I had already been discussing the changes with my doctor as my asthma had become much better controlled. I just pushed up the timeline on one and she made the other. God bless.
Avatar f tn I Just ordered off this site called withdrawal-ease.com and it's $89 for 2 bottles one for night time and one for day. Th Thomas recipe isn't helping me. I was going to order te amino acid protocol but I got everything into my cart on GNC.com and it was $150!! And it was missing 2 items they didn't carry it. So it will be here in 2-3 days. I will take it and let everyone know. I hope it works. It could save a lot of us from the pain! Check out the website:) www.withdrawal-ease.com!
Avatar f tn I will have to go back and see if I can find that one. It was really interesting. Seems to be all upside down in the way it works as to the way you would think it did. I alwasys thought when stocks were way up, it was a good thing. I will have to see if I can find it or the link to it so ya all can have a look see.
Avatar f tn Whoever diagnosed you should be able to tell you what stage you have or how severe it is. No one will be able to tell you over the internet how severe yours is based on a color or a name of an inhaler. COPD is usually linked to smoking. STOP IF YOU ALREADY HAVEN'T. Are you seeing a Pulmonologist for this? Definitely should be.
Avatar f tn It has an ihaled corticosteroird (ICS) and a long acting beta2 agonist (LABA - long acting broncho dilater). It is not recommended that you stop taking the ICS all at once. It is a steroid, although it doesn't have the same side effects of oral steroids. The ICS is really the primary treatment for asthma. After you are feeling better, you can discus trying an ICS only medication like Asmanex or Alvesco with your doctor.
Avatar n tn I'm going to answer this similar to how I answered another question. Get yourself tested by your doctor or have them refer you to an allergist to get tested for what you are allergic to. My favorite over the counter medication for allergies is Zyrtec, I don't have any reactions to it whatsoever and it works faster than Claritin does for me.
Avatar f tn I'd recommend seeing a Pulmonary Specialist as soon as you can. How long have you been taking steroid medication for your asthma? Which medications do you take, and at which doses? If you're a mild asthmatic, switching to a non-steroid preventative like Cromolyn or Nedodromil may work for you. Theophylline is another option either instead of, or in addition to one of the non-steroid preventatives.
Avatar f tn I understand it has a ceiling cap and half life. How does taking 3 doses a day effect you? I mean you take 4mg. It is stored with a half life, when I take my next dose in 8 hours how much do I now have? I know that it caps what does that really mean, just you aren't getting anymore but it is still in you. Please help. I am curious as to how if any this would effect detoxing.
569676 tn?1315641158 Below is an article explaining how and why suboxone works. This was written by Dr. Richard Gracer and is very well written in understandable terms. How Buprenorphine Works Buprenorphine (Subutex) is an FDA approved drug that is used to treat opiate (narcotic) dependence and prevent its relapse, to decrease the withdrawal symptoms when getting off opiates and in some specific circumstances to treat chronic pain.
1528897 tn?1291833568 You can also purchase an OTC mast cell stabilizer, NasalCrom. It is very effective. Lastly, if nasal drainage is the problem you can try atrovent. Have you tried a variety of oral antihistamines. Zyrtec has very few side effects. Its successor Xyzal has even fewer (same basic active chemical, but it is more purified). Allegra also has few side effects.
