atrovent how does it work

lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.

I am taking atrovent for asthma and i was wondering if i should be spitting out phlem after i take a treatment or does it just break the phlem up and i spit it out whenever?

I do use Advair discuss for my Asthma (under control now) and Aerius daily along with Atrovent that my allergist gave me prescription for years now. Why is it bad to use a nose spray for long periods. If I don't I have post nasal drip all the time even out of allergy seasons. It's just been a really bad bad year for pollen in Quebec, Canada. Thanks for info again.

Never worked for me but, it does for some so definitely worth a try.

I am starting the slimfast program tomorrow. My question is does it really work? I am also in a wheel chair..But i do get my legs walking 1 or 2 hours a day .

I had unexplained runny noses for years and finally went to the doc who gave me a strong steroid kind of nasal spray. It worked amazingly well but for the last few weeks it stopped working. I read somewhere that if the medication stops working that is a really bad sign and could mean that the infection spread and caused cancer! True or False?

I did it and it was right about me having a girl amd my hair dresser did it and it was right for her having a boy...

He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids. He directed me to take both atrovent and ventolin 2 times a day for a month but I don't really have a long term treatment plan. The doctor seemed a bit stumped as to what else to do. I am suffering from some symptoms almost all the time and regularly have fairly bad attacts. I am very glad to have the ventolin but I'm hoping to find long term treatment for the underlying problem.

my asthma is not under control, at work it always bothers me. i am on the albuterol pump plus the breathing machine, which both does no good. what other inahlers can i use? or the breathing treatments? at the hospital, they give me xopenex, which works ok, not really good for me. the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened.

My son has suffered that for years. We finally went to a university hospital where they did all the typical GERD related test and as soon as they discovered he actually had GERD, it seemed like they concentrated on that as being the source of his cough, and stopped listening to what he was telling them, that the cough would start as soon as he ate food. It didn't have enough time to get to his stomach and then start to regurge.

Do not take another one. If you threw it up, then you threw it up. It safer to just take a day off from prenatals rather than taking another one and possibly having to go to the hospital for to many minerals and vitamins .

According to the Lyrica website you could feel relief as soon as one week, but for some people it may take longer. It also depends on how high your dosage is right now. Like every treatment, everyone is different. Lyrica was not for me. I would be grateful if someone on the forum would add to this post with their Lyrica experiences. Tuffycup, please tell us what dosage you are currently at and how long you've been on it so we can best advise you.

have wanted to for a long time. Does Chantix work, how well, how long did ya smoke, how many packs. How long does it take to work. I could use and would really appreciate any info on the matter. I've gone cold turkey befor but this 49 year old Bird aint as tough as she used to be. I did defer the Subloxone for hydro w/d tho after research. Before my baby shower I went to have a pedicure and my mom said to be careful since there are pressure point that can initiate labor! I didn't go into labor but I'm sure there's something holistically that can trigger it!
