Avatar f tn I switched a couple years ago to Complera for a brief period that gave me severe depression and worse anxiety so had to stop it too and go back to Atripla. Now I am on beta blockers for the tachycardia, Xanax to help sleep, and Cialis because of the effect the beta blockers have on libido. And I still feel lousy. My labs are good but shouldn't I just switch meds could all this be due to the Atripla?
Avatar m tn I started her with a drug called ATRIPLA about 50 hours after exposure. What are her chances of getting infected for HIV and how effective is Atripla in Preventing it?? What is the success rate of ATRIPLA??
Avatar n tn I took that to a specialist who saw the test, looked me over and gave me Atripla to start to be safe. She also sent me off for more tests, elisa and others. I also now took a PCR DNA thats not back yet. I went to a free clinic that gave me a rapid test that came up negative. I am wondering if four days now of Atripla could cause that to be negative? I am wondering if Atripla after four days will make my DNA PCR test invalid?
Avatar m tn Also what about my risk for having contracted HSV2 and what should I do in terms of testing for that? Could the Atripla confound that testing? Thank you very much.
Avatar n tn I went 30 hrs after my exposure to the hospital and they gave me PEP (1 combivir and 2 kaletra twice per day) coming back to my country after 3 days i forgot the pills that i bought in switzerland and the doctor here suggested i take 1 atripla pill instead every night !!! do you think this is feasible ( what is your assessment to the situation?!
Avatar n tn My partner was exposed to hiv during anal intercourse and is currently taking my Atripla. I am undetectable. Should we continue the Atripla or should he be on nPEP at all ??
Avatar f tn My husband was diagnosed in dec after a 5day stay in hospital discharged as neg but tild to call doc in 3days some blood work was not ready. Ehen we called they told him to go seea doc they started him on atripla. He is doing fine but he says he is neg the test r wrong. I don't want to sound stupid but since I am still neg I recently started to wonder if he is right.
Avatar n tn I called my doctor and told him this information and he encouraged me to keep taking Atripla for the full 30 days, just to be safe.He said that if a healthcare worker comes into contact with spilled blood and they don't know the status of the person whose blood it is, they will take this pill for 30 days. That said, I don't want to be on this medication if I don't have to be.
Avatar m tn I was on Atripla (with Tenofovir) and my hip bone became nearly inoperable. It affected my bones big time. Since then, I was told I had Periodontal Disease, but I don't believe it's a disease. My teeth are spotless. I floss twice daily and brush gently. I never drink soda or candy. I even gave up on alcohol. I think it's an issue of digestion and food quality. GMOs surfaced in our foods in 1996.
Avatar n tn She gave me an Elisa HIV fulll STD panel Hep ABC, Epstein Barr test and a prescription for Atripla didnt fill til after the test. All tests came up negative, Took Atripla for 5 days and when neg test I stopped. I took a DNA PCR HIV test at time, negative but after 5 days of Atripla. My Epstein Barr was active high so possible. But not new or acute infection. Symptoms now have continued for a month, very severe, very painful. Going to take my 2 month Elisa and DNA test next week 7/17.
Avatar m tn I had protected anal sex 3 days ago with a guy who claims to be clean. The following day I went to the doctor and told him that the guy gave a blowjob without me having a condom on my penis. I'm so worried about HIV that I asked the doctor for PEP and he gave me Atripla for 30 days. I'm so scared! I keep reading that it's a low risk almost zero to get HIV from getting a blow job. Is this still true?
Avatar m tn Since I have am HIV+,and waiting on my blood test to come back is my sex life over with either vaginal/anal intercourse or can I use pretection and still have some sex?
1470597 tn?1286869087 But when Atripla cost about $1500/mth,and you have stock in pharmaceuticals...However,I have found out that Germany has a few pt's rights and one is the right to med. records.Minus Dr.'s notes.I am not a denialist, but you don't know the entire story. And there are approx. 60 factors that cause FP in Elisa/WB,and vbiral load testing is not specific to HIV.VL tests don't even have the ability to isolate or measure actual viruses.
Avatar m tn I had neuro syphilis (rash, lost some hearing stage 2 i believe it was) about 2 years ago and went on atripla at that time. There was a few months (from December 2012 until about June 2013) i was off the meds due to my insurance/cost etc. Back in October 2012 i had all my blood was negative for syphilis and all numbers were great.
Avatar f tn It was positive (I believe she Knew this b4 hand and just wanted me to confirm my fears). I rushed back to hospital and told them. They gave me atripla which I started 65 hours post exposure. From that day on I felt fatigue, had diahrea, occational head aches, had two lymph nodes in my neck, muscle twitch and joint pains, developed a few itchy rash 2 days after pep which are still here 7 weeks post exposure. Had mild cough 2 weeks post exposure My questions: 1.
Avatar m tn Some feedback on the side effects you guys have experienced with both Atripla and the Truvada, Norvir and Rayotaz combo would be much appreciated. One of my fears of this combo is sunken cheeks or the "sick look". Any benefits experienced and or advice would also be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn He did not ejaculate inside me, however it was unprotected. Later today I saw in his cabinet the medication atripla which I found out is for the treatment of HIV. I have not been able to discuss my finding with him as of yet, but I'm very very concerned. I went to a late operating clinic that advised me to see a specialist. However, Im curious as to the prophylaxis meds and how they work. Could someone help me on what I should do next?
Avatar f tn Started PEP about 64 hours later - which was Tribuss, a generic of Atripla. The source person tested positive when i asked her to test. On the 15th of June - 10 days on PEP, i had unprotected sex with my girlfriend. She had some flu illness around the 27th of June. I tested negetive immediately after PEP. I tested negetive again 17 and 33 days after PEP. I did another test 9 weeks after PEP - also negetive.
Avatar f tn Good day all. I am taking atripla as pep. I am reading scary stuff that hiv could be resistant to are drugs. Is it possible that the hiv strain could be resistant to all 3 components of atripla rendering it useless? Two components are the same as truvada.
Avatar f tn I opened the package to see what it was because he never takes medicine and I thought something was wrong. After some research I found out that Atripla is for treating HIV. He has been taking it for 5 months now (it said the original date on the rx). Needless to say I freaked out and about had a panic attack. I have not asked him about it yet, but I am going to. I want to go get tested ASAP but I cant until Monday morning.
Avatar n tn Different docs approach things different ways, and if you would post back what meds you are and have taken and about for how long (as in: how many months for each), we might have some comments based on what we've read and been through. Above all: hang in there! Lyme is seldom a quick fix, but like you, I would be ready for the mop-up and to carry on with life as before.
Avatar m tn Depending on how much garlic is eaten when it is cooked and also eating any amount of raw garlic will make the breath smell of garlic. If everyone ate garlic then it would not be noticed. I ate a whole clove of raw garlic one evening, at college the next morning the whole room smelled strongly of garlic, so much so that everyone avoided me and they opened all the windows.
