I have been told by my doctors for years that my cholesterol is bad. I was just prescribed 20mg Atorvastatin and took my first dose last night. I got about 5 - 6 hours of sleep which isn't uncommon for me, but this stomach pain as if I'm hungry (which eating doesn't seem to help) is getting annoying. My main concern is though what im going through sounds like what Google said were side effects. Should I talk to my doctor? Considering I've only taken 1 dose.. thank you.
Is atorvastatin or pravastatin better at monitoring cholestoral? My doctor prescribed the generic pravastatin as a more afordable alternative to atorvastatin but also doubled the amount I take (from 20 mg of atorvastatin to 40 mg of pravastatin). Today, my primary prescribed ketoconazole 20mg, 2 pills a day for 5 days. I have taken my first two pills today.
I have a few questions:
I'm really worried about liver failure. Silly, I'm sure, but I can't help but worry. What should I know about ketoconazole and liver failure? I have no family history of liver failure, nor any liver or heart issues.
Week 2 was 10mg and week three was the final ramped up dose of 20mg. I was fine on the 5 and 10 mg tablets but felt like crap in the morning after taking the 20mg tablet. The doc allowed me to cut the 20mg tablet in half until our next apt at which time he prescribed Carvedilol 25 mg twice a day. Anyone have any insight as to why he might have done that? I was on Asacol for many years, but my new insurance company made we switch to Lialda a couple of months ago (three 1.2GM tablets 1x daily). I am also on Lisinopril (20mg 1x), Rosuvastatin (10mg 1x), and Citalopram (20mg, 1x). It is easy to find information regarding drug-drug interactions for omeprazole (Prilosec) and atorvastatin (Lipitor). The omeprazole appears to increase the bioavailability of the statin, increasing the risk of side effects. Does this mean that the interaction is like taking a higher dose of the statin, which would provide benefit for someone like me who only takes a low dose (10mg atorvastatin daily) and has no statin tolerance issues?

hi, would like some advice pls, i have been takin propanolo 40grams for a few months take 1, 3 times a day for a hand tremour have felt a bit dizzy and sick somtimes but i can handle that, today i fanted at work and felt very dizzy and sick had blurred vision my hearing was all muffled to,and the ppl tht i wrk with couldnt understand what i was say before and after i fainted, i feel a bit better now as it hapend this moring, do u think it could be the tablets?
My 70 lb 12 year old golden retriever has a skin condition and was on Prednisone last year for about three weeks. So they mistakenly prescribed him 20mg tablets instead of 2mg ones which resulted in him taking 80mg a day instead of 8 for the 5 days between his neurology and neurosurgery hospital stays (which isn't that concerning cause he was at the neurosurgical ward for 11 days after that and they ran all the tests because he was there for his surgery so I guess no harm done) but it also resulted in grandpa taking _20_ mg for three days, then _10_ mg and then off instead of 2mg and 1mg respectively
