atorvastatin and hair loss

Hi all, My father had a triple by pass surgery about 18 months ago, and has been taking Lipitor, Perondopril and Atenolol. He's been getting abnormal hair growth on one side of his leg and back and chest since he's been on Lipitor, and Perondopril. I googled to see what I could find, and found this site saying that Lipitor can cause abnormal hair growth. http://www****.com/ds/lipitor/hair%20growth%20abnormal/ My question is, has anyone else taking Lipitor experience this?

My mother has been put on Atorvastatin and within one week she has had extreme confusion and forgetfulness. This has been the only medical change. Is this a side effect from it and can they show up this quickly?

Never in my family history. Also thyroid gland not producing enough. Then i was asked about Atorvastatin and these issues especially typ 2 diabetes. Its all over the internet but my doctors don't seem to know much about the possible connection. What can i be told about this and further how does one investigate and gain knowledge to make a good decision. I am still taking it and don't know what to do. I am following drs orders at this time.

This med is generic for Lipitor, as you probably already know. I've researched and there is nothing about anger problems. The best thing to do is ask your Dr or pharmacist if this could be a possible interaction. When did you start the Zoloft? I'm asking because anger and personality chances could be a side effect of this med.

It is easy to find information regarding drug-drug interactions for omeprazole (Prilosec) and atorvastatin (Lipitor). The omeprazole appears to increase the bioavailability of the statin, increasing the risk of side effects. Does this mean that the interaction is like taking a higher dose of the statin, which would provide benefit for someone like me who only takes a low dose (10mg atorvastatin daily) and has no statin tolerance issues?

Only in the past 20 days, hair fall has gone up. Does hair straightening dry out the hair causing lack of moisture and thus hair fall?? I truly hope that this is temporary as you mentioned!!

I have seen a local Derm who said there was no scarring on my scalp and no real skin issues associated with my hair loss. m natural with no chemicals in my hair and I have never had a problem with hair loss. I went from thick long hair to thin short hair. This is so sad.
