Avatar n tn An apple and banana are both things I thought was good but they contain carbs that add to my 130. Carrots is another snack I wanted to eat and also has about 10 g.
1088678 tn?1256772440 It's possible the bread might be the cause, although you're supposed to be able to eat bread to a limited extent. You may want to cut back and see if it makes a difference.
1756367 tn?1400884364 It is simply not necessary to eat sugar. You will get all the sugar you need to fuel your body through natural foods such as fruits and vegetables. If you are asking what are the daily requirements for carbohydrates, this will depend on what type of food plan you wish to follow (see below). I would recommend a lower carb, moderate protein and moderate to higher fat diet. How to best limit your sugar intake really depends on if you are a food addict.
Avatar f tn I lost 14 lbs during the INDUCTION period of the diet and was on that diet for about 3 weeks, then moved to branching out some and introcducing a few more carbs but I am not sure if I'm eating even my 20 grams a day. I was wondering if by not eating my daily allowance of carbs was causing my body to stall losing weight???
5890854 tn?1377264632 Over eating the diet foods but not feeling full! Also considering starting rollerblading again. I am taking many vitamins to replace nutrients. Is this all too much for day 14? My two main questions are: what's good diet foods (low carb) that will FILL ME UP with me being on this hunger binge right now and, will rollerblading be too much at day 14?
4054761 tn?1349368749 So glad to find someone following the same program as ME! Can I request you as a friend? Sure hope so.
550805 tn?1215030875 t eat any carbs, and not even dairy because it all turns to sugar! They say just eat certain veggies and meat. I'm vegetarian. That leaves me with... water.... maybe a dry salad. lol Has anyone heard of how far the "no sugar" policy is supposed to go to be effective? I really can't see myself cutting dairy and all carbs. I'd just like to know if anyone knows how far this needs to go to be effective. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Is it better to eat a low Carb diet or a low calorie diet..Isn't stuck between the 2,I need to lose72 lbs..n I don't want it to take forever to lose it.I also expertise 6 days a week for 1 1/2 hrs.Just confused about the two. Also I'M on 3 medications that cause weight gain. And I'M wondering as long as I do overeat will I still gain weight from these meds. Thanks Brenda!!
Avatar f tn Atkins never said to not eat vegetables! What he stated was to not take in carbs. beyond the point of not giving off Keytones. The maximum number of grams of carbs, known as your personal carb balance, that you can consume while continuing to lose weight. http://www.atkins.com/AtkinsDotCom/media/Master/Programs/2013-carb-counter-%281%29.
1054985 tn?1257173275 I'm not on Atkins, but I do practice low carb, and eat a fair amount of fish, and a little poultry now and then (organic, only!) Red meat I save for special occasions. But FORGET white flour and white sugar and ALL the fakes (as a nod to the Aspartame thread). Stevia just tastes nasty to me. I eat a heap of low glycemic index veggies and fruit the rest of the day. If I do crave something sweet, then unrefined real cane sugar is the only thing I'll bake with.
Avatar f tn If you want to follow a diet plan that can help you change your habits long term you might want to try the South Shore diet. It is more balances but still heavier on the proteins and many have had good success with it.
Avatar f tn Gym, why do you only eat stupid crabs? Easier to catch? And you do know you don't have to follow anybody's set diet to eat fewer simple carbs, especially the ones you recommend, one, Atkins, that hasn't prove out in research to product sustained weight or health and the other that is over a dozen different diets and based on faulty history. All you have to do is eat fewer simple carbs to eat fewer simple carbs. But simple crabs, well, how do you tell when a crab is simple?
Avatar n tn Well first and foremost, your best bet is to stay away from any kind of "diet." Diets tend to be restricting and are only really good in the short term. I'm not a fan of Atkins either as I'm not one of those "carbs are evil" types of people and I don't care what anyone says, eating endless amounts of meat and cheese can't be good for you. Not to mention that whole grains and certain starchy foods are GOOD for you and are important for a balanced diet.
Avatar f tn I will manage my weight on Phase 4 of the HCG diet.
Avatar f tn Atkins works wonders, go to the Atkins website! I lost 15lbs in the last 3 weeks. Easiest diet ever!
764257 tn?1234724152 I agree with the above. Talk to your doctor about whether you should try Atkins or not. I was on Atkins for approximately 5 months (something happened and I completely stopped eating, but it isn't related to the diet). The results were fantastic. By the end of the second week I (a carb lover) didn't want to eat carbs although I was still eating fruits and veggies. I lost weight and I felt good.
Avatar n tn Then the Atkins dieters were about twice as likely to make it to the end of the study, indicating that the Atkins diet was easier to follow. http://authoritynutrition.
Avatar m tn YUMMO! I eat alot of the same foods, I just add veggies to things I would have never thought to do in the past. Whole wheat everything from breads to pasta. My kids even think I am a little strange, however, they are starting to like it too....
Avatar f tn Here are some tips I posted on another thread some time ago.... Changing lifestyle habits can go a long way in controlling type 2 diabetes. Restrict & avoid refined sugars, practice and adhere to weight control, do some sort of exercise daily, practice stress management, and get adequate sleep. These are all important in managing this illness, the most important, along with proper nutrition, is physical activity. Walking, not strolling, helps to lower blood sugar levels.
Avatar f tn m diet controlled (for 2 years) so I have to be very mindful of what I eat and I had to learn what foods made my sugar spike. I NEVER recommend trying to eat a certain amount of carbs, I believe we should limit them as much as possible unless your sugar dips too low. Focus on eating as many leafy green veggies as possible. Drink lots of water. And try to limit your carbs cutting out bread, rice and sugar of course. Keep in mind some things that sound healthy are not actually good for diabetics.
1348086 tn?1370783185 A blood sugar level of 148 an hour after eating is a little on the high side, but not alarmingly so. You may wish to eat lower carb foods. Your blood sugar level of 111 after 5 hours of not eating, is not high, however, after 5 hours of not eating your blood sugar levels should have gone back down to fasting levels (these are ideally in the 70 - 95 range). Of course, there is the chance that the meter is old and not working properly....
