Ativan with adderall

Common Questions and Answers about Ativan with adderall

You know, I do not believe I have ever heard of anyone having "withdrawal" with Adderall, so maybe that would be better if it meant you could quit your other stuff? I could be totally wrong, I just do not recall ever hearing of people becoming physically dependent, I know they can have a hard time stopping just because they start to really like the energy.
(Lamictal, Norco and Ativan for sleeping) His question to me was why I was on it to begin with? He stated his concern was the Lamictal and Adderall combination, as Lamictal is a downer and Adderall is a upper. I'm not stupid I do know the difference. I showed the pharmacist the schedule I have for the Norco and Lamictal , I can take those both at the same time with no ill affects. But he couldn't give me a answer how to fit the Adderall in the mix.
Just think of not being on adderall as going back to your old self. p.s. (i consume massive amounts of coffee to deal with always feeling tired).
I recently discovered that my 49 year old wife has been taking my sons adderall for a year. She has been taking 20mg. per day. She also takes celexa for depression. I am concerned that she is addicted and will have withdrawal problems. I have hidden the adderall from her and she no longer has it available. She relizes that she has a problem and has commited to quit. What are the withdrawal symptoms, how soon after she has quit to they show, how long to they last and how can I help.
5 mg makes me extremely drowsy in the morning (and I take my Adderall with it too). However, I just got off the phone with my Psychiatrist, and he recommended trying Xanax, but I would prefer taking the Ativan twice a day verses Xanax three times daily. So he said to take 0.25 mg of Ativan in the morning and the rest (0.75 mg) in the afternoon, along with taking another 1 mg of Abilify in the evening. I appreciate your guys' responses. It makes me feel at little more at ease with the Ativan.
Over the 15 months of anxiety I have been taking 1 mg. Ativan at bedtime with very rare occasions of 1/4mg during the day. I was "managing my anxiety just fine until I got the news about my husband. I went back on Prozac in liquid form at 2mg. on Oct. 24. to start back slow. I pray it will work as it once did. I am up to 8 mg. now and ready to to to 10mg in a couple of days. I switched to night time because I was having some side effects; 3 hrs.
hi i have been on prozac and xanax since march 3 2010.my dr added adderall for refractory depression a little over a week ago,,,,i can tell not much difference....and im still having the slow unsteady walk from before the addderall...does anyone know how long it will take the adderall to help my depression,,,he is usinfg it off label....
I started Thursday (3/18), taking my 1 mg of Ativan. My doctor did say I can cut my pill in half if it makes me too drowsy; however, i don't know if it is? First off, this entire week I've been having trouble sleeping, and last week I worked close to 80 hours, drastically cutting down on my sleep time as well. Thursday morning I felt fine (an on and off drowsy/awake period), but continued to feel more awake as the day went on (probably helped that I take Adderall through the day too).
They say adderall causes insomnia... Its obvious, adderall is a legal form of speed. Most would say adderall is the last thing a restless person would or should take. However, at this point i see no other choice. here is my rational. --Because I cannot sleep, I lose the ability to focus in class. Because I can't focus, I don't learn as much as I can during class time.
Are you taking Adderall XR or Adderall? Is it a capsule or a tablet?
About a month ago during one of my appointments with my psychiatrist she decided that I also have ADHD and has prescribed 30mg. of Adderall a day along with Ativan 1mg. a day for anxiety. She's aware of my addiction problem and that I'm taking Suboxone. In all honesty I've began to abuse the Adderall, taking a lot more than I should and my psychiatrist is not aware of it. At first I was unsure as to why this psychiatrist would prescribe these two drugs knowing the potential for abuse?
I have had a similar problem. Last year i was diagnosed with pleurisy and have recently had my adderall upped to 30mg 3X a day. I still have pleurisy episodes but they seem more frequent on my adderall. I dont have chest pain everyday its usually the 1st week of my monthly prescriptions and then I am fine. It happend with 10mg the 1st month then the 20mg 2 months later every 1st week and now im on 30's and its my 3rd day and i started having chest pain the second day.
Emilyanne was kind enough to point out your post to me and adderall is most often socially and psychologically addictive as it can give a false sense of well-being. People often find themselves unable to engage in social activities without it. There are physical withdrawal symptoms like mental depression, extreme drowsiness, nausea, and vommiting.
One thing I have noticed is when the Adderall wears off those symptoms disappear, or if I take the Ativan they disappear. Anyway, I'm wondering if perhaps I should just quit the Adderall altogether and request a different medication. I have only been taking it about 2 weeks now. This discussion is related to Constant chest pain for 2 months after taking Adderall.
Hi, I have a first hand experience with Ativan... I have taken both 0.5 mg and 1.0mg and had absolutely no negative side effects while taking either dose. I too recommend only taking it when necessary which is what I did and there were no withdrawal symptoms... If you find that you have to take it daily then I recommend only doing that for a short period of time and then having your doctor switch you to something else....
There ARE ways you can manage your lifestyle that wouldn't include self medicating with your Adderall. You will benefit from making changes in many different ways...your anxiety will improve, your sleep, and your overall sense of well being, and actually you may find that you're BETTER able to function. I would have an honest chat with your doc about this, and I most definitely wouldn't recommend adding any other habit forming meds (like an benzodiazepine) to the mix.
I wish you the best with this! I don't have any personal experience with Adderall but there are plenty here who do.... Could you start your own thread which would be more current? I think you'll get more responses. In the mean time, have you thought about a support group, meetings, anything to help you?
Was wondering at this stage in getting clean if taking an adderall (not a million) would assist with energy without prolonging the withdrawl. Has anyone tried this.
HI first off I agree with IBKleen it is not safe to mix alcohol and benzos like xannx or addiril I would also question a doctor that had me on addiril xannx and prozac all at the same time...it like take the xanax to slow down and chill out...take the addiril to get lifted back up from the xanax and let just add a antidepressant in there to try and stabilize you mood right now your not high...your sideways you dont know if your coming or going on this sort of combo...
Surely you are sufficiently educated to know that you are abusing Adderall. Your symptoms are consistent with this abuse.
In an attempt to please everyone and juggle my work, my peers, my friends, my family who, though they all live 1300 miles away call daily to vent to me about their lives, and with my schedule and expectations, I began taking Adderall 20mg tablets.Though a naturally hyper person, it was not prescribed to me. Over the past 4-6 months, I inadvertantly increased the dosage to coincide with the stress I have been under. The least amount on a given day is the 20mg.
The wake promoting effects are similar to those of caffeine. A more aggressive way to go if modafinil is not working is to go with Adderall but I don't recommend it since modafinal side-effects and long term effects are way less important. Personally my experience with modafinil was not really significant. I experienced better memory but the changes in energy level were not significant.
I'm getting pretty concerned I may have suffered a TIA the other night after an unusually large amont of adderall I had taken that day. I had consumed a 20mg XR at approx 7am, another 20mg XR at approx 6pm and at around 2am, took another 20 intending to continue studying through the night. Shortly after feeling the onset, my right hand and forearm began to tingle a bit, followed a couple hours later by my right foot.
General rule of thumb is that if a medication that can be safely discontinued (adderall will leave your system in about 4-6 hrs if it is not the time released version Adderall XR) is giving you chest pains you should stop taking it and seek an exam. I wish I had other advice that I could give you. Best wishes to you and stay safe Rebecca Resnik Disclaimer: This post is written for informational purposes only. The question is can you live with the extra anxiety if the adderall is really helping you? The problem with taking an upper (adderall) and a downer (ativan) together is that they will counter act against each other and neither one will be as effective in your system. You said that you were just diagnosed? Is this your first add medication? You may want to consider trying a different one if the adderall continues to give you problems.
I can tell you if they worked/did not work for me or how it interacted with Adderall just to name a FEW Effexor Zoloft Lamicital Ativan Concerta Geodon Ritilian will list more soon... tired right now.
I am a 39 year old woman who has been seeing a psychiatrist for about a year for clinical depression, I have tried all of the medications and Zoloft 200mg seems to work the best in combination with propananol 10mg morning and 10 mg evening for anxiety. I also take 6 mg klonopin to sleep, I have had to raise the dose after developing a tolerance over time. I took ativan before this but quickly became addicted and wanted to take more than I should so switched to klonopin.
But, since you already have a nutritionist and are flushing your system with vitamins....your doing everything right! Older posts recommend to get out and walk...to exercise. Even if it's a stroll around the block....and to drink lots of water! That these two things will speed this hard part up! Exercise and water does wonders....according to others who are going through what we are! We can beat this!
If anybody has any suggestions on how to control the withdrawal symptoms please let me know? I am suffering but need help because I am really through with the pills this time and I want my life back.
