Avatar m tn Hi, thanks in advance for being "there". I have struggled w/knowing how to interpret results, symptoms, etc. I've read you can't have itching and burning unless you have an action lesion. Same with lymph tenderness. Last week (8 to 10 days ago) my scrotum was hot feeling. This hot feeling now is on the foreskin of my penis. No bumps other than a sebaceous cyst on my scrotum. I have noticed when I wake up in the morning, I have no burning anywhere.
Avatar n tn Then sit in there for 15 minutes or so, and before you get out, run cold water over your face, ankles and writs. (to not become dizzy) You also have to drink and rehydrate from the water loss due to the salt.
Avatar f tn I have been on xnax for years stopped last year was put on ativan mot recently for 3 months now they stopped my ativan and put me back on xanax..
Avatar n tn She has great doctors, but none of them seem to be able to explain what is causing the spasms and what the correlation is with the spasms and the itching. She has been giving Lidocaine cream and patches to use on her neck, but it barely helps. She also uses antihistamines to help the itching, but they only offer some relief and always make her fall asleep. Her doctor also prescribed her muscle relaxers and pain killers, but they don't seem to do the trick.
Avatar f tn i am taking 1mg of ativan a day and 1 pill of busbar at nighttime, is it okay to take both? last night i had a severe itching attack and was wondering if it is from the meds?
757137 tn?1347196453 Quite by chance I found myself researching itchy heels. The is apparently a very common complaint, and those affected by it can't seem to get it diagnosed. It seems to afflict them when they are not standing, and is apparently worst when they lie down. They have trouble sleeping because the itching is so intense. I found a site with a couple of hundred entries from sufferers. There were only two helpful entries. One was from a podiatrist who claimed the cause was neurologic.
Avatar f tn I took my .5 mg ativan and one benadryl for stuffy nose. Now wide awake and have to be up to work in 2 hours. Has this ever happened to anyone?? I also take my 12.5 zoloft in morning will this make me more jittery??
Avatar n tn I am 75 years old and take Restoril 30mg for sleep at night and have been taking Ativan 1mg along with the restoril about an hour or 30 minutes beforehand. I have noticed I have a rash under my armpits and experiencing itching on my neck and behind my ears on my head. Could this be caused by the Ativan? If so could I switch to Xanax .5mg and take with the Restoril. It seems I have to take a combination to be able to sleep.
Avatar f tn I started 5 mg Celexa 5 days ago and the doctor gave me .5 mg Ativan for just in case. My question is how long until the Celexa starts working? If I use the Ativan too often will it effect how the Celexa works? How hard are these to come off of?
Avatar m tn Okay, well how are you directed to take them both? Is one as needed, both as needed, and if so, how do you know when to take which? Do you take one of them regularly? It's pretty uncommon to be prescribed two short-acting benzos concurrently. The equivalency between the two meds isn't an exact science, but per equivalency charts, approximately 0.5mg of Xanax equals 1mg of Ativan, so the Xanax is roughly twice as potent, mg to mg. Again, not an exact science.
Avatar m tn What symptoms of a hangover are you talking about? If you're speaking of anxiety, that's most likely not a hangover, but rather the typical after effects of alcohol consumption. Taking Ativan for hangover symptoms would technically considered abuse of your prescription, since that isn't what it's prescribed for, and all around a bad idea.
Avatar f tn I think the headache was from something else and not the ativan. Woke up this morning with no headache and took .25mg of ativan and no headache. We'll see what happens later today.... I'm a bit sedated right now on just .25mg. too.
1181804 tn?1333402805 OK. I struggled with my opiate addiction so much that I never fully realized how physically addicting I was becoming to ativan too. The doctor who helped me wean off the percocets by putting me on suboxone and then slowly wean me off those over a one year period told me that I can't be on ativan while on suboxone. Well, my Primary Care had put me on the ativan (.5 / 2 X a day- but I took more when I "needed" it.......
Avatar n tn There are no drug interactions with Ativan and bisoprolol. However, the Ativan may cause some low blood pressure. I am curious… why are you taking the bisoprolol if you have low blood pressure and a low heart rate… seeing as it can worsen both of those??
Avatar f tn In addition to depression, I struggle with anxiety and take 1 mg Ativan as needed, up to 3x/day if needed. The Ativan helps with the anxiety but I've noticed if I have to take it for a few days in a row it really seems to affect my mood, in that I often feel even more depressed than I did before taking it. I've been on Klonopin before and all that did was make me fall asleep (even on a very low dose), and at least with Ativan I feel as though I can function without feeling so tired.
Avatar f tn And the morning is the worst. I just started 5 mg celexa 4 weeks ago and my doctor wanted me to increase my ativan to help with anxiety. It seems like whenever I take too much, I feel sick and loopy. And, it is not that effective for me with dleep. It is more effective during the day to relieve symptoms. I am extremely med sensitive. Does anyone have any experiences with ativan?
Avatar n tn Nobody can predict how any med will work for you -- it's trial and error, unfortunately. What I think your psychiatrist -- and I hope you are using a psychiatrist, not a regular doc -- is getting at is Zoloft, if it works, is a long-term solution in two ways: it works all the time, whereas Ativan is very short acting, and there's a limit to how high a dose and how long one should take Ativan.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed .50 ativan(lorazapam) every 8 hours as needed for anxiety since the week of Thanksgiving. They made me too groggy so the Dr said I could cut them in half. I began taking .25 every 4 hours. My anxiety at the time was out of the blue and out of control. Attacks sometimes lasting less than an hour and sometimes all day. I was getting some relief for about 2 or 3 weeks.
1714202 tn?1352672419 Hey, so my birthday is coming up and a big group of us is going to the casino and I know I'll end up drinking. Does anyone know the interactions with alcohol, lamictal, abilify, and ativan? If they're too serious I'll just tell my boyfriend not to let me drink. Any help would be great!
Avatar f tn When I first started suffering from anxiety, I was prescribed Ativan and it nearly ruined my life. I became completely numb, followed by episodes of severe anxiety. After one month, when I realized that the Ativan was making me sicker, I went of immediately. I suffered some withdrawal symptoms and later learned that going "cold turkey" was not a good idea. I began to get better, despite the withdrawal, but a few months later I had some very stressful experiences.
Avatar n tn I am also going to keep following my primary doctors prescription for Ativan and keep it at 1.5mg a day and hopefully with therapy I can begin to get off it. I'm also going to try the tea tonight but drink it before I take my Ativan and Valium. If I feel it has good results I will try to stop the Valium at night and just stick with Ativan. Thanks again for your.
Avatar n tn so where u on 4mg a day of ativan and now u swtiched to clonazepam? if so i think the taper/addition of klonopin/lclonazepam has to be done miticulously. ask RCA/Ryan about this. he as schedules for things like this and for tapering successfully. i know valium is used alot to get people off of clonazepam along with a taper schedule. i'm pretty sure the klonopin isn't causing the shakiness and sweating. it's either withdrawls from the ativan or your underlying anxiety returning.
Avatar m tn It got worse and he prescribed 1mg of ativan three times daily. I am now down to two mg daily and I fell better. However, he suggested I take ..5 mg in the morning and .5 in the evening. Immediately, it brought on a severe anxiety attack. I want to ween safely. Please advise. I stll take lexapro at night. I often feel anxious once I take that. He said that it is unusual to fee that way. I have been on these medications for three months now.
Avatar n tn that's a really low dose of Ativan and Ativan generally takes quite awhile to take effect, possibly an hour or two. I've tried trazodone too and that doesn't do much either - it's an antidepressant with sedation as a side effect, so they figure it will work but a lot of times it doesn't. If the trazodone doesn't work don't bother with it.
607358 tn?1222471786 The only way to get to to go for an appointment was to load up on ativan 4-5 mg. Just recently I saw the psych dr and she started me on clonazepam 0.5 mg twice a day for a full day coverage. This does help while practicing with getting out , driving, small stores mostly at night time. I also just started zoloft and waiting for that to kick in... I have an appt downtown tomorrow and want to know how much ativan to take to get me there on top of the clonazepam.
Avatar f tn 1 year ago I was put on Remeron 15mg for sleep and to get me off Ativan. The reason I was on Ativan and for 3 years straight of .5mg a night for sleep, was simply because it made me sleep. Started getting interdose w/d so they said take more Ativan. As I did, it started not working correctly. Made me worse. fast forward a year and 1/2 I gained 40lbs from remeron and never really felt right on it. Just didn't feel like myself.
Avatar f tn Anyhow, onto my question... In addition to depression, I struggle with anxiety and take 1 mg Ativan as needed, up to 3x/day. The Ativan helps with the anxiety but I've noticed if I have to take it for a few days in a row it really seems to affect my mood, in that I often feel even more depressed than I did before taking it.
