Avatar m tn Took a couple Ativan to calm me down and knocked me out until I woke up the next day with no pains and blood pressure was 115 over 75 with a heart rate of 60 BPM. Since then.....everytime I start to exercise that moment pops back into my head and I can feel another attack startiing to come on. I went to Urgent Care and they said maybe it's Panic Disorder.....gave me more Ativan and put me on blood pressure meds.
Avatar m tn I went to ER AND THE PRESCIBED ME SOME ATIVAN, tHE HEART RATE IS STILL HIGH, Have an appointment today. I am currently on 10 day hydrocodone withdrawl. Any insight out there. would love some input.
Avatar f tn I had a racing heart and I felt awful. I had to go to the ER and they recorded my heart rate to be 120 a minute. They could not get it to calm down. It was awful. The doctor looked up the side-effects in his PDR, and said that anxiety and racing heart were one of them, and, since I had a history of having trouble with any type of SSRI, for me not to take any at all and if I felt anxious to exercise.
1305767 tn?1361192676 well i went to the doc on Saturday for severe anxiety, panic attacks, and crying spells. i told him my heart would race and i'd get dizzy and shaky. he upped my Celexa dose and ordered blood work and gave me ativan. sometimes i still feel dizzy even though i'm not having a panic attack. this is more of a vertigo type of dizziness.

Avatar m tn The nurse told me to follow up with my cardiologist because maybe there is an underlying cause as to why my heart rate was 120 and only the metoprolol brought it down. Not the Ativan. I was trying my hardest to calm my heart rate down but it wouldn't go down. 2 days later I'm wiped with depression. I can't believe this happened again. I'm fearing the worse. I'm only 27 and it makes me extremely sad. I don't want to have a "heart condition" It freaks me out.
Avatar m tn My shakiness and rapid heart rate was caused by the thyroid and the only way to stop it was with the beta blocker to block the thyroxine's effect on my heart and my nervous system. Though I was shaking I was not having a panic attack at that time--I just could not stop shaking--my whole body.
1049259 tn?1295088478 I just felt inwardly dizzy no fast heart rate, no nothing. shortness of breath and dizzy feeling and like i am going to shake or convulse. i am tired of panic attacks and just kind of get annoyed over it. i am tired of them now and I just want all of this to go away and let me be happy again!!! UGH! I started thinking bout brain tumors, blood clots.
Avatar n tn hiya i seriously wouldn worry yourself over this your heart has been checked and its all good, my pulse is nearly always around the hundred mark and when its hot its even faster, also you must have been worrying about your heart rate to even think of taking your pulse if u wasn panackin which can make it go faster anyway.
Avatar f tn ok so the past few weeks ive been having extreme anxiety, tingling in fingers, arm pain, back and chest pain on and off (pressure, sharp pains, anything you can think of i've felt it), panic attacks. saw a cardiologist on tuesday, said i had a normal echo. last year and nothing would drastically change within a year, and normal ekgs and holter monitor recently. he also prescribed me propranolol , which i'm terrified to take because it drops BP and your heart rate.
Avatar m tn But still I am having the feelings when i get up or rise from sittting and sometimes when im out with friends just stand my heart rate will be up and i can feel it in my throat. I have no clue what to do now after 20 tests that I have gotten. I have yet to get the tilt table test cause I don't know if what i have seems to correlate with pots syndrome. When I get up my heart rate will speed up to 100's 110 and then il sit down and itll go back down right away. Someone please help???
Avatar m tn All the symptoms you describe can be due to anxiety and the treatment with ativan. If the dosage of Ativan is not correct there can be palpitation - Unusual and not normal heartbeat, that is sometimes irregular, but rapid and forceful thumping or fluttering.
Avatar f tn Just a real quick background. I have been hypothyroid for 3 years now. I was just diagnosed with Hashimoto's 2 weeks ago. I have a small goiter on the right side that is not growing. This week I have started having these very strange and crazy attacks. Meaning all of a sudden I feel this cold/tingling sensation at various parts of my body. Yesterday I had to leave work early because of it because my heart started racing and I didn't feel right. I went to the ER.
Avatar f tn Basically for the last four months iv been diagnosed with generalized anxiety and went for eeg and ct scans on my brain bc I was having episodes of seizures , they found out my seizures were being caused by one of my meds I was taking for anxiety, mirtazapine was the culprit , but I still have problems with my anxiety they tried many drugs serequel 25 50 75 and 100 mg didn't help at all put on pounds and had a racing heart 24/7 gave me 3.
Avatar f tn This is an old post, but to anyone reading it for their own benefit, take your meds as directed and if you have concerns about your heart rate and ADD medication, see your doctor.
Avatar f tn Hey Jerry, Thanks for the response. The heart rate and low bp is at rest. I sit and check it consistently at the pharmacy. A couple of weeks ago, my blood pressure was around 110/50 and my pulse was usually in the 70's and 80's, unless my heart was racing, then it was around 120. Thanks again for any input you have. So appreciate it! I take it you also have low blood pressure?
4250195 tn?1351709095 I know when I was initially diagnosed with hyperthyroidism I landed in the ER with rapid heart rate and was shaking all over because of the hormones racing through my system they wanted to give me iv ativan--I stopped them and told them that I WAS NOT NERVOUS that I did not need ativan--that the beta blocker worked for this so they gave me the beta blocker intravenously and it stopped the shakes and the rapid heart rate.
Avatar m tn Hi! First thing first, I think my reply was a bit unclear. We have long lists in Norway too, which actually is a big topic for discussion here. Being a wealthy country, which I would assume Canada is, too, this is unacceptable. The $750 I mentioned was if you asked for this in a private hospital. We don't need to get referred from our primary care physician or cardiologist to do that, and waiting time is 1-2 days. Seems adrenaline is a major trigger for your PVCs.
3211873 tn?1345809345 I'm sorry for your troubles. I have experienced similar situations in the past, so I completely understand the way you must be feeling, jolted out of dreamland in the middle of the night with a sudden certainty that your body is about to let you down. Please believe me when I tell you that it isn't. You're NOT going to die. What you are feeling is panic, which is just that: a feeling. It may cause physical symptoms, but it is not going to physically kill you.
Avatar n tn I have had anxiety and problems sleeping . So I now take between 0.5 mg and 1 mg of Ativan at night . I noticed within the last few weeks my pulse has dropped in the late afternoons and night . It is usually in the low to high 50's before I fall asleep . ( No symptoms ) It was causing some anxiety at first , but I have seen online that low pulse might not be a bad thing ..
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any suggestions or medications that wont fluctuate with my blood pressure and heart rate so i can get a good nights sleep?
Avatar f tn Funny that you mention the Ativan thing in the ER. I went the ER where I worked and my heart rate went up to 170 out of the blue after they gave me some medicine for a headache. They did an EKG and of course, it was sinus tach, so they gave me Ativan.....long story short, I was admitted for the high heart rate, the Ativan bottomed my blood pressure everytime I stood and I too, slept for over 24hrs. I was put on Metoprolol succinate 12.
Avatar m tn Recently, when Im working out my right hand will turn purple and long after the workout is over my heart rate will not subside normally. Is the anxiety? My doctor thinks so and prescribed some Ativan and Celexa. I think I fell the affects of the Celexa because I feel like Im in a good mood most of the time. Im still having chest pains and my heart rate will increase for no apparent reason. Sometimes both hands will turn purple colors now. So Celexa has helped my mood but not my symptoms.
