I took my .5 mg ativan and one benadryl for stuffy nose. Now wide awake and have to be up to work in 2 hours. Has this ever happened to anyone?? I also take my 12.5 zoloft in morning will this make me more jittery??
When I feel a little excitability and it's not time to take another ativan I will usually take 25mg of benadryl to help keep me calm. I consulted with my mother and she said that it would be ok but that I could just take another ativan if necessary, but I really want to keep my daily intake at 1.5mg. I also take a Valium at night with my dose of ativan to help me sleep because I have been having problems staying durig the night. Is it ok to be mixing ativan with Valium at night?
I have a 33 year history of Migrianes. I have been taking benadryl 50mg and ativan 2mg Injections for a few years now and I have been told many different things. So I need to know if I am able to mix ativan and benadryl together to take as 1 shot or do I need to continue to take them both as seperate injections.
that's a really low dose of ativan and ativan generally takes quite awhile to take effect, possibly an hour or two. I've tried trazodone too and that doesn't do much either - it's an antidepressant with sedation as a side effect, so they figure it will work but a lot of times it doesn't. If the trazodone doesn't work don't bother with it.
Since I have been diagnosed as having primary bilirary cirrhosis of the liver and waiting for results to see if I qualify for liver transplant I have also had a problem with anxiety. Can I tale ativan or is it another drung that I should avoid?
someone please tell me what to do...my dr says take benadryl...benadryl makes me more anxious.....
Doctor told me to take ativan for when I need it 0.5mg I read about this a bit and the symptoms are just as bad as xanax and affects same receptors... Should I take it at night? I kinda want to withdrawal completely...but suffering bad symptoms Last night I had severe symptoms again severe shakes when I awoke at 4am, leg twitching, severe head pressure, nausa, weird dreams... Day 5 of withdrawal... Whats your opinion Greenlydia?
All of this since last Monday. I saw my obgyn on Thursday and he prescribed sertaline ( Zoloft ) 50mg a day and benadryl at night to help me sleep. Also on macbid for bladder infection, not to mention yeast infection took single dose of fluconazole 150 mg tablet. Still have all the symptoms I mentioned earlier. Am i experiencing withdrawals from ativan or not? and how long this last. I want to.
I have been taking 1mg of xanax for about the last 8 months for severe insomnia, recently the doctor I was seeing closed his practice and he referred me to another doctor whom he transfered his files to. When I went to her to refill my perscription she switched me from xanax to ativan without tapering off the xanax. I have not slept in 4 nights and am wondering how long it takes for the switch to become effective.
I have been taking 1-1.5mg ativan and 2 tablets of benadryl to help me sleep (as advised by my doctor) for about 1 week. The insomnia was due to anxiety. I stopped two nights ago because I don't want to rely on the meds. I was able to drift in and out of sleep for the last two nights but with several long, vivid dreams. During the day, I feel kinda dizzy and seem out of it. I was wondering if these conditions could be due to the withdrawal of ativan.
Well, this has been absolutely awful. It's 4am now and I have not slept and I'm shaky and jittery and try so hard not to have any panic attacks. I read online that if you quit cold turkey after having been on ativan for so long that you can go into convulsions and seizures. I'm terrified of this. I think this is one of the reasons I can't sleep - I think I'm going to have a convulsion or seizure in my sleep. So this is keeping me up. What a mess.
I talked to my doctor and she asked me to try taking up to 2mg of ativan and a couple of tablets of benadryl for sleep last night. At first, I thought it didn't work, which made me even more anxious. But I woke up almost 7 hours later without knowing I slept. Lately, I have been getting this jolt/twitch/falling sensation right before I could sense I was about to fall asleep, which wakes me up. It sacres and worries me (didn't help with my insomnia anxiety).....
I did answer yes it is stressful sometimes (I'm military). They hook me up to a IV and a nurse comes in and hands me 2 pills called ativan. He says they will calm me down. I ended up looking this drug up later it is apparently a Benzodiazepine.
5mg a day and two doses of 50mg of benadryl during the day and 25mg at night with my last dose of ativan and 1mg of melatonin to make sure I sleep. I never had a chance to ask my doctor about the melatonin either because he is not an easy person to get a hold of because he is usually extrememly busy. My final question has to do with zoloft. About two weeks ago my docotor also prescribed me 25mg of Zoloft.
ok its weds night 1127pm and i havent slept in three freakin days saw my pmp and he took me off my oxycontin 40mg ext release fentynal patch and two other meds and stuck me on 30mg morphine er12hr and needless to say this stuff aint doing **** i am miserable went through the sweats chills shakes all night last night cant keep any chow down feel irratable more than normal and just wanna curl up in a ball and die!
I am starting to lose it - I am so exhausted and I feel awful and it's making the anxiety so much worse. If I could take .5 of ativan or just know that I could if I needed it - it would be a lifesaver. Would I be doing harm to my baby? I have read conflicting studies, but none of which are in people who take a low dose occaisionally. Thank you so much for any advice you can give.
I was perscirbed two ativan for sleep and I still cannot sleep. I called my pharmacist and asked if i could take an over the counter sleeping aid with the ativan and she said yes. So about a week ago i started taking tylenol pm right before sleep. Within i would say ten min i am sleeping and i sleep through the night execpt for going to the rest room. Does anyone else to this?
Currently, I take 10mg of Lexapro, and 1.5mg of ativan a day. I would like to cut out the ativan, but I recently started a new job, which is stressful enough. So I want to be sure I am comfortable there before I start messing with meds. Anyway, any help would be appreciated as always!!
So it isn't rare for a patient who is trying adderal to help treat depression to already be prescribed Xanax, Klonopin or ativan. Xanax and adderal often work well together as the benzo can relieve the anxiety and jitteriness caused by the adderall which in turn keeps the patient more focused and awake, as Xanax is used for insomnia and can make many users groggy. The idea that uppers and downers are bad for you is a myth.
Riba disturbed my sleep throughout treatment. I'm allergic to benadryl, so I took the occasional ativan to sleep. I didn't want to take that too often so I spent a lot of late nights online - thank God for this forum and the other insomniacs who were treating at the same time. By the time the west coast people were falling asleep the European members were waking up so I almost always had someone to talk to! The good news is that treatment worked for me, and at EOT my sleep patterns improved.
RLS from Decadron and benadryl. Felt good for about 4 hours then developed shaking chills that lasted about 3 hours. Ultimately spiked a fever of 102 but it came down. Vomited 3 times. Had to take Compazine x 1, ativan x 2, Motrin 400 mg. Spoke with MD but he said if chills, fever persisted go to ER, didn't have to.
I had to go to the ER and they gave me ativan IV to calm me down and sent me home... I continued on with anxiety for about a week. On the first day of the second week I had a small panic attack. The second day I felt good except that I woke up with twitching under my neck. I didnt think much of it cause I figured it would go away, I probably slept on that side all night. But I noticed the twitch all day and I look in the mirror and I see my skin moving...
I either just lie awake and toss and turn, or as I’m trying to fall asleep, I have these muscle jerks/jolts that wake me up. I am currently seeing an acupuncturist and she gave me some natural pellets for stress reduction, so I take that an hour before bedtime and about 15 minutes before I take this chamomile/melatonin spray I bought at the health food store and spray the suggested amount at that time.
So, I'd scratch my arms, then the legs started in, apparently my stomache felt left out, so it decided to join the party. I got up took an ativan to calm my nerves then about 15 minutes later I took 2 benadryl. It seems to help me calm down the Fibro itch. I hate this Fibro stuff so bad, but I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.
Check the info leaflet that comes with the ativan and make sure antihistamines are not contraindicated. You could try taking the riba earlier as suggested above and you could look at using a more natural approach to the sleep-aides, chammomile tea, warm milk before bed, cut out coffee and other caffienated drinks in the afternoon.
I tried the benadryl and managed about 5 hours last night. Hopefully it will get better as it goes along. At least I got enough so I feel more refreshed this morning.
If you think its gonna be bad...its gonna be bad! If your anxiety gets bad and bp rises..take an ativan. I would try and save the xanax for sleep. By tomo you will have muscle cramps esp in your legs..the flexeril will help with that..and lots of hot baths. and of course you will need the immodium too! Take it as soon as you first get a tummy ache..before you start having bathroom problems. Keep posting so we can help you as much as possible. I have been where you are..
I could not continue on that, it was TOO heavy BUT it broke my Ambien cycle and now I take the benadryl thing. I also sleep with ear phones with relaxation music but sometimes THAT keeps me up...LOL Sweet dreams!!!
I had panic attacks pre-pregnancy for about 5 years and was on 25 mg Paxil and .5 mg ativan (as needed). I went years without needing the ativan, and was doing great. Then, I found out I was pregnant and my OB switched me to Zoloft and advised me not to take the ativan. Switching from Paxil to Zoloft was a very difficult 2 weeks for me, but I managed. At about 12 weeks pregnant, I ended things with the father due to his abusive behaviors and addiction to drugs.
