It is hard for me to believe that today is day 30 for me and congrats to Swan too on her 30th! Let us give all of you starting your withdrawl the hope that we have today. I never thougnt I could do it but with determination and just plain stubborness I made it on past the withdrawl stage. The MENTAL is tough guys, you gotta watch that and deal with it in other ways.

I just got a Pap smear done today. The insertion didn’t hurt, but the swan was so invredibly painful I had to make them stop. My doctor said she might’ve not gotten as many cells as she needed. I’m worried if a painful pap means something bad because no one else seems to experience a painful swab. Also, does this mean sex will hurt for me?
You might want to google that and see if it sounds right - either way, I agree with swan, you should probably call your doctor.
Today my throat is pretty sore, which happens periodically. I feel like I am choking daily, too. Choking feels like my throat is closing. I did almost choke to death while eating about a month ago. I cannot tolerate turtle necks at all. It bothers me to wear a seat belt. My throat also feels swollen today. If I spread my fingers across my throat, the "butterfly" is visible. I am afraid I have a goiter or something pretty serious going on with my thyroid.

I had a total colectomy in June of 09 for two huge bowel obstructions and had struggled my whole life with chronic constipation. Post surgery everything was great, have to use lactulose to BM or my stools are pin thin.
Since the surgery, my middle finger joints on both hand have swollen and my fingers have become deformed.
If your symptoms were severe he could order a swan ganz, but apparently he was satisfied with what he had and wanted to explore another avenue.
