Would it be safe to use this unopened bottle as I have read that most medications are really good for 5 years after expiry and drug companies just put the expiry dates on so people will throw them away. The expiry date on the bottle says 01-2011.. Is this bad that I used the eye drops three weeks after it was suppose to be discarded? I only used three quaters of the bottle. I paid a little over fifty dollars for this little 5 mL bottle.... But what can you do....

I have only noticed that Ribavirin capsules that pharmacy gave me for 3 months have expiry of October 2014. If I start taking drugs on 15 August, it means 3 packs of Ribavirin will become expired during my treatment, as I will take them till November 15. Should I request pharmacy to change portion of packs?
