Nurse advised me to take ZIDOLAM-N as PEP for 28 days. After continuing for 3 days i visited a doctor and he told me that Nevirapine should not be used for PEP but since i already started the PEP, he advised me to continue the same medication and asked to monitor closely the side effects of the drug. Now today Friday i am experiencing some pain in the upper abdomen. Is there any possibility that i can change the PEP drug to avoid nevirapine, please Suggest?

I've followed this research, and from what I've learned the drug interaction of Plavix and PPI's (proton pump inhibitors) is not not that strong. I doubted the report from the start as I took Plavix and PPI's and my blood was as thin as tea, I bruised very, very easily, and the blood tests to determine my clotting factor wasn't changed by taking the two drugs.

I am wondering what on earth happened. Random? Allergy- how could that be? Drug interaction? Though I am a cracker jack nurse, I am stumped. I am wondering if it will happen again because I don't have a clue what caused it. I knew what I wanted to do immediately, but I wasn't entirely sure... so I called my docs. That made the process more drawn out than it had to be probably. Thankfully, my instincts were right. That gives me more confidence for if there is a next time.
