Avatar m tn There is no significant biliary dilatation, and the common bile duc measures 0.3cm. The gallblader is free from calculi and sludge. There is no gallblader thickning, pericholecystic fluid or elicited sonographic Murphy's sign. The kidneys are normal in size and echotexture. There is no hydronephrosis on either side. No shadowing echogen focus is identified to suggest nephrolithiasis. The spleen is normal in size measureing 9.5cm. The pancreatic body is unremarkable.
Avatar f tn My recent CT stonogram revealed that I have a non-obstructing nephrolithiasis in the left kidney. It is a rod-like calsific density noted at the inferior calyx of the left kidney which measures 1.6 x 0.7cm (+746HU). I knew I had kidney stone measuring 1cm way back in the mid-90s but I was told by my nephrologist that it s non-obstructing and just let it not grow or increase in size, by drinking more fluids.
Avatar f tn A high RBC count would indicate you have some bleeding somewhere, like cystitis or nephrolithiasis. A high WBC would indicate you inflammation from somewhere. And a few bacteria is of no concern, all of us have some bacteria down there. However if a culture grew 100,000 CFU of a single bacteria that would be an indication of UTI, but that's not your case. So, yes, your UA looks normal.
2046312 tn?1360379600 A case series describes three patients who experienced excessive opiate effects of buprenorphine during concomitant antiretroviral therapy with atazanavir, ritonavir, and various nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors. Two of the patients had been on their antiretroviral regimen for several months and reported doped-up feeling, dizziness, and feeling high following initiation of buprenorphine 8 mg/day. The dosage was reduced to 8 mg every other day.
Avatar n tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. 1736524 tn?1310745311 After a CAT scan, they said I had a 5mm stone and it was stuck in the ureter (the tube that goes between the kidney and the bladder) at the junction of the bladder wall. This is the narrowest part of the ureter, as I was advised. After 6 hours of IV heavy duty anti-inflammatory drugs, the stone must have passed into my bladder and the pain subsided greatly. I must have urinated a gallon at that point.
Avatar n tn No significant change hepatic hemangioma. I'm wondering since this is my 3rd ultrasound (the hemangioma was discovered during a CT scan incidentally a year ago) and things have been stable. Do I need an MRI still? I asked last year and was told that since I had the CT and we followed up with an ultrasound MRI would be too much to do. I was also told that if an ultrasound came back questionable then an MRI would be ordered. Is it safe to rely on ultrasound for this?
1012861 tn?1250949418 More recently I have been experiencing flank pain and bladder pain, and I pee at least 25 times a day. I have 2 stones that are just sitting in my kidney not really moving. I had a cystoscopy today which showed nothing significant. Can the stones that are just sitting in the kidney cause all this blood and pain or could it be something else?
1661837 tn?1302713820 Hello, in your case the nephrolithiasis ( stones in kidney) are responsible for causing the pain, blood in urine and difficulty in urine. I’ll suggest consulting a urologist for the same and seeking treatment depending on the size of the stone. If the size of the stone is small, it’s usually treated with ESWL in which shock waves are given from outside and stone breaks into small pieces. On the other hand, if the stone is quite big, then the surgical removal of the stone is a better option.

So this tells us that ureteral spasms may be responsible for stone retention and for difficulties with regards to expelling stones .As the ureters contract ,the stone may move along the ureters.
1223953 tn?1267031036 One word of caution there... we also have Reyataz in the mix here. This drug often causes side-effects which may never go away, while Truvada tends to have little to no side-effects. Of those you mentioned, jaundice, stomach pain, nausea and loss of appetite are fairly common side-effects of Reyataz.

Avatar m tn I had my physical recently and reviwed all of this with my doctor. He did all standard blood work and a through physical exam with all results being positive (no issues). I was told it is time to have the cyst removed (scheduled in a week or two) and that my back and hip pain was likely cyatic nerve related. He had no suggestion as to what the admoninal pain was and made no further suggestions.
Avatar n tn Thanks for replying. Yes, I'm completely agoraphobic. I have many mental and physical problems. I only eat at midnight, and its all frozen foods, because I'm single and don't want anything to expire. I don't exercise. Speaking of guitars, I can't play my acoustic or drums for even 2 minutes because of the headaches I get.
Avatar n tn Most patients with MSK remain asymptomatic throughout life. However, complications such as infection, hematuria, and nephrolithiasis may happen and this is prevented by periodic ultrasound. This is because ultrasound findings can demonstrate complications related to calculus disease. I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.

Avatar f tn they thought kidney may be swollen due to stone and gave me a shot of dilaudid, which didnt even touch pain and sent me home. I have put myself on cipro to stave off infection and started vitamin d supplement to help reduce calcium in urine. I study online and merck manual etc to try to treat myself. I have two nephrologists and both are worthless, say i am a fascinating case but have no suggestions to stop stones. this is my 12th one and my life is put on hold everytime.
Avatar m tn If one of my patients had similar symptoms I would also evaluate them for nephrolithiasis (kidney stones) and inflammatory bowel disease. Ask your physician about basic blood work (CBC and comprehensive metabolic profile), urinalysis, and most importantly a CT scan (94% sensitive and 95% specific for diagnosis of appendicitis. Very Respectfully, Dr.
244602 tn?1215975628 I have screenshots/ exported images from a renal ultrasound done 8/2011, a CT scan done 7/2011, and a CT scan done 12/2009. The 2011 images are of a kidney stone in my left kidney, and the images from teh CT scan in 12/2009 are of a kidney stone in my right kidney that was elsewhere when the CT scan in 7/2011 was done. http://community.webshots.
1226479 tn?1267205690 Hi, I just had my first kidney stone and unfortunately I think I still have it. I went to the emergency room with indescribable pain and bloody urine about a week ago; and of course they diagnosed me with kidney stones(one) and ordered me to see a urologist in a couple of days. My delemna is that I'm uninsured and I'm wondering, since I've had no pain even during urination and no discoloration, whether I can skip going to the urologist and save the money? Thanks.
