I read about a trial where they were using Candesartin (Atacand) to prevent scar tissue from forming in the liver, as it's an angiotensin receptor blocker.
Atacand saved my life. I had heart failure, almost on the transplant list. I found a great doc at UCDavis (after firing one in Auburn who almost killed me), who put me on the Atacand. My heart is now normal!
So when I saw this trial I was really curious.
What does her doctor say? I would follow her dr.s advice.
Hi all I am 50 (will b 51 in few months), with high bp managed with Atacand plus and last visit my doc said im perimenopausal.
At the end of last year my cycle missed then it came on 18th Feb and lasted till 22nd March.
It then returned couple days ago and I've spent the day with horrible cramps and each evening around 6pm it's as it a tap has been turned on and I bleed profusely. I am going to my doctor first thing Monday but just wondered if anyone else has had this experience?
m taking meds for acid reflux, but it keeps getting worse. Today I heard from two friends that their blood pressure medicine caused that same sensation. I was taking the blood pressure meds (Atacand) long before the shingles outbreak. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but I have for years had a problem with feeling a continual need to "clear my throat", but it wasn't painful or annoying as it is now.
Hello , I am 43 year old and have high blood pressure i regularly take high BP medicines metropolol and Atacand 16 plus. I have taken all test and my heart seem ok and vessels are clear but my left chest pain just above the left breast does not go away. pain sometimes extend to left arm. also i have a left leg slight partial tightness feeling, Shortness of breath, Chest heaviness, fatigued, sleepy and irritable, Excessive daytime drowsiness, . Doctor says nothing is wrong!
He takes Atacand, Norvasc and Bystalic for blood pressure, Zolof, Restasis for his eyes and an Excelon Patch for his memory. He is very stubborn and refuses to go to a geriatric doctor and his own doctors don't seem to know nor do they seem concerned about what's causing it.
my bp runs 126/73 120/83 and my pulse is between 47-62. i feel fine dr not happy when 47 so she tells me to take one pill instead of two but it stays around 55 .and i dont get dizzy so i think its ok for you .unless your having problems.
I think there should be a specialty in medicine for people suffering from medication side effects
and for those who are hypersensitive to medications. I need to be on medication for high blood pressure.
I have tried HCTZ, toporal XL, Verapamil, Atacand, and am now on Coreg.
The doctors are getting fed up with me because I can't tolerate the side effects, but I can't help it. I wish they could feel what I feel so they would know this is no picnic for me.

I already take Efexor XP 300mg daily, Alapam 30mg daily and medication for high blood pressure, Aldomet 500mg night and morning; Atacand 16mg daily, Dapatabs 30mg daily and 1800mg Caltrate following a bone density test, Somac 2 x 40mg tablets daily for Barrett's Disease and have a yearly endoscopy. Stress factors contribute to my general feeling of unwellness. I suffer with fibromyalgia and have arthritis in the spine and knees.
I am on 25 mg atenolol that was changed from atacand in emerg for hbp. Could these be thyroid issues .??

-he allready took these drugs for 3 years .. is there any side effect for long use? or making Danger on his life and health?
-what about altenative ..?? is there any drugs better to advice me for than what I`ve mentioned.
-how about the food, life style, he cant walk everyday or even make sports.. because the hip jiont.
-finally, i`ve read about "Vinegar apples" how can use it, and when and how much?

I am now on betaloc 100mg half a tablet / 12 hours and atacand 8mg at lunch time. my BP is average 130/80 and my HR is average 70 bpm. I still suffer from these attacks of irregular heart beats lasting fo seconds and without any other symptoms. another doctor advised me to do an upper GIT endoscopy or barium meal. I am very much confused ...
My BP is under control 110/70, with a low dosage beta blocker and Atacand. I also stopped all weight lifting---something that I have done for over 35 year. Recently, i have the urge to weight lift as my upper body has literally shrunkj. My question is if I restricted my lifting dumb bells only, a max of 30 minutes 3x per week and not to exceed 25 pounds, would i be putting my self at any risk? I speed walk every day for an hours and i have no other restrictions.
I got sick and tired of feeling like a Zombie because of the Medication. I seem ok with my Atacand blood pressure Medication. I decided I didn't want to feel unwell no more and have a better quality of life and to feel well. I turned to an experienced naturepath who is also certified as a professional. She put me on a few natural alternatives and diet. I also stepped up my excercise regime.

If anyone out there has had leg weakness and heavy thighs after 7 months of having a PM ,would you have any hints and tips. My dad has had this problem since having it fitted. He has had it paced at 50 then again to 60 but he still has the problem. A angiogram also showed all clear we are not sure where to go from here he only uses 2mg of atacand and otherwise extremley fit. Can't bike ride anymore and he can only just walk around the block before fatigue sets in.
