Avatar m tn Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else with high blood pressure might be able to shed some light on whether some symptoms I've been experiencing might have to do with high blood pressure or not. First a quick background; I'm 34, male, 250lbs. I've been fighting high blood pressure for a few years now.
1557045 tn?1294555036 My cardiologist put me on Atacand as my blood pressure tended to be around 130/70, he advised me while my blood pressure wasnt excessively high, that taking Atacand would lower it a little and make my heart beat with greater efficiency. In the last week or so I have experienced weakness and pain in my right arm and hand, mainly when lying down in bed. I have also started getting dizzy spells which is very hard to describe, at the moment feels like pressure in the back of my head.
Avatar f tn re having some trouble with your blood pressure. I agree with your physician that 156/66 is too high. Your blood pressure should be below 130/80, with lower being even better if tolerated. Many things contribute to high blood pressure including age, genetics, weight, diet, exercise. It sounds like you're on the right track with your exercise. Aggressive diet and exercise can often get patients off of their medications altogether, especially if couple with weight loss.

529295 tn?1212772180 My husband is suffering with uncontrolled high blood pressure. He is 54 years old and in excellent physcial condition. He recently went to the hospital because he was having chest pains and pain in his left arm. EKG show satisfactory and took a stress test which showed no ischemia. He was released from the hospital and despite the emergency room test his BP continues to be erratic and uncontrolled with numbers like 161/95 after taking 4 pills.
Avatar n tn I'm sure this is probably nothing, but I've recently been referred to the hospital for tests due to high blood pressure. I'm only 24 and not over weight but have had blood pressure readings at the doctors office as high as 180/120. I had an appointment with a general specialist who didn't come to any conclusion as to what could be causing it. I have had numerous blood tests and ecg's.
Avatar m tn Regular aerobic exercise helps control blood pressure and cholesterol levels, both of which are risk factors for aortic dissections and ruptures of aortic aneurysms. Avoid weight lifting...Weight lifting causes temporary increases in blood pressure that could potentially result in an aortic dissection or rupture. Avatar m tn In November 2011 I had an echocardiogram at that time my LVEF was 60%. The mean pressure gradient was 16.5mHG, the max pressure gradient was 30.0 mmHG. The aortic valve area was calculated to be 0.70 cm² That echocardiogram was performed in a hospital. I had suffered it a stroke in November 2011 and the echocardiogram was taken while I was unconscious.
Avatar f tn I already take Efexor XP 300mg daily, Alapam 30mg daily and medication for high blood pressure, Aldomet 500mg night and morning; Atacand 16mg daily, Dapatabs 30mg daily and 1800mg Caltrate following a bone density test, Somac 2 x 40mg tablets daily for Barrett's Disease and have a yearly endoscopy. Avatar n tn He takes Atacand, Norvasc and Bystalic for blood pressure, Zolof, Restasis for his eyes and an Excelon Patch for his memory. He is very stubborn and refuses to go to a geriatric doctor and his own doctors don't seem to know nor do they seem concerned about what's causing it.
Avatar n tn People at risk of abdominal aneurysms are older men, those who smoke, have high blood pressure or a family history of the condition. Diagnosis is through x-rays and sonograms. Experts hope the new technique becomes increasingly used in emergency situations".
1861997 tn?1333165497 I eat a low cholesterol diet yet I suddenly have high cholesterol. I have also developed abnormally low blood pressure and Raynaud's in the last year. Thanks.

I am taking Crestor 20 mg a day, my ejection factor is 55 which they say is normal but I still take all these medicines for Congestive Heart Failure. Have you ever been tested for Atrial Fibrillation? If not, it is very important. It's when your heart races real fast. I have it and I am 61 years old but I take Multaq and Digoxin in very small doses. Some days I feel so weak.
745331 tn?1232830226 She was able to take Plavix, but doctors said not Coumadin. You can have blood work to determine the thickness of your blood. The aspirin may be enough for you.
Avatar n tn About me - 46 yr old female, slightly under weight, smoker (about 8 a day), casual drinker. Family history of heart disease. I have been dealing with high bp for about three years now, but the last six months or so it has been really hard to control. I was originally on Atacand for bp, but now it doesn't control it on its own, so I've also been prescribed a dieuretic by my internist.
Avatar f tn I've always had low bp, usually around 100/50 and my heart rate runs from 48 to 58 and I function completely normally. Even after exercising or jogging, it's rarely above 90. Very seldom do I get dizzy and I think when I do get dizzy, it has more to do with my breathing than my heart rate - my sinuses are so bad. I'm extremely active most of the time and it doesn't slow me down a bit.
Avatar n tn I got sick and tired of feeling like a Zombie because of the Medication. I seem ok with my Atacand blood pressure Medication. I decided I didn't want to feel unwell no more and have a better quality of life and to feel well. I turned to an experienced naturepath who is also certified as a professional. She put me on a few natural alternatives and diet. I also stepped up my excercise regime.
1006065 tn?1251478669 High pain levels will cause your blood pressure to be high. Also the clondine will cause your blood pressure to be low. I seriously advise you to go to the ER as soon as possible. As Red said it is better to be safe. When your blood pressure is so low it puts a strain on your heart and you have other medical issues as well so please go ahead and see the the ER doctor. True he does not know your history but you can fill him/her in.
1833444 tn?1325557062 If you have no prior history of high blood pressure i would think theres a very good chance as these meds do crazy stuff....... I have read here where those with high BP before tx saw it go down while on treatment...... Good luck going forward.

Avatar f tn Your bottom number is a little high but not horrible! I am 35w3d and I have had constant high blood pressure since 26 weeks. Its always around 165/94. Since its been constantly high, I see my doctor every thursday for an ultrasound to check the babies heartbeat and fluid, a non-stress test, and a chat with my doctor! I also go in every wednesday to do blood work to check for preeclampsia. This week will be my 4th time doing it.
