1557045 tn?1294555036 5 hours of walking a day (to lose some weight). I have been exercising for the last 12 years straight. I had a CT Angiogram done for any Aortic disection or Aortic aneurysm, all came back clear, my aorta and all related vessels were within normal range. My cardiologist put me on Atacand as my blood pressure tended to be around 130/70, he advised me while my blood pressure wasnt excessively high, that taking Atacand would lower it a little and make my heart beat with greater efficiency.
Avatar f tn I checked with pharmacist and he said both Metoprolol and Atacand have shortness of breath side effects and spoke again with my dr and he said I should continue for a while.... because I have been using them for 3 month now... any suggestions?
Avatar n tn He takes Atacand, Norvasc and Bystalic for blood pressure, Zolof, Restasis for his eyes and an Excelon Patch for his memory. He is very stubborn and refuses to go to a geriatric doctor and his own doctors don't seem to know nor do they seem concerned about what's causing it.
Avatar f tn Hi all I am 50 (will b 51 in few months), with high bp managed with Atacand plus and last visit my doc said im perimenopausal. At the end of last year my cycle missed then it came on 18th Feb and lasted till 22nd March. It then returned couple days ago and I've spent the day with horrible cramps and each evening around 6pm it's as it a tap has been turned on and I bleed profusely. 745331 tn?1232830226 Listen to your doctor, for goodness sakes! You are on aspirin AND warfarin? That is usually a no-no. Warfarin is a dangerous medication with many risks.
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear about your pain for so long. I've had mild to severe 24/7 migraines for almost 3 years. But there are other remedies that have helped me, which the doctor's response to you does not make any mention of. I get nerve block injections monthly and Botox injections which have both helped a lot. And lately taking butterbur root herbal capsules called Petadolex which have helped me a great deal. No more severe migraines since I've started the herbal.

735676 tn?1257572226 m on SSI for my migraines, and know others who are on SSI/SSDI for theirs, so yes, you are eligible that way. You want to apply for SSDI and SSI both. Since you've worked, you'll be eligible for both. I'm on SSI because I was disabled w/ migraines before I was 18 and so never worked. I was approve the first time around, but that's a VERY rare occurrence, so don't get discouraged if you get rejected the first time around. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Maxeran ONLY works via injection anyway... it does absolutely nothing for the treatment of migraines if given by tablet. If for some reason you have already taken triptans and strong pain killers prior to going to the hospital, ask for maxeran, even though it is not a triptan or a pain killer, for SOME reason it can completely stop a migraine... they're not sure why (i don't think) but... it works. ^ now, after this, you will find that you are not in pain, or at least..
Avatar f tn When I was having frequent migraines and my insurance would only pay for one refill of Maxalt each month, I obtained prescriptions for both Maxalt and Relpax and filled both each month. They worked equally well for me.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with using Topomax for Migraines. I have had migraines for the last 3 years and have been rx Topomax. I tried it for a week and felt fatigued, more and worse migraines, spacey so I discontinued it. Tried again and after a few days landed in ER with vertigo. Dr. believes we should try again that it will be helpful after titering upwards. Wondering who has experience with side effects, what they were and if they waited it out did they get better or worse.
