atacand

The best protection for your kidneys is the same thing that protects against other diabetic complications: Well-controlled blood sugar.
Avatar f tn My husband is a non-responder for the treatment he had, which was Pagasys and Riboflavin. He is looking for new treatment. He has genotype 1. Anyone with info? We live close to Sacramento.
Avatar m tn In April 2010 I experienced major shortness of breath and my Atacand was reduced to 16 mg per day. That relieved the shortness of breath. My current GP doctor stopped Atacand in October 2012. In November 2011 I had an echocardiogram at that time my LVEF was 60%. The mean pressure gradient was 16.5mHG, the max pressure gradient was 30.0 mmHG. The aortic valve area was calculated to be 0.70 cm² That echocardiogram was performed in a hospital.

1557045 tn?1294555036 I had a CT Angiogram done for any Aortic disection or Aortic aneurysm, all came back clear, my aorta and all related vessels were within normal range. My cardiologist put me on Atacand as my blood pressure tended to be around 130/70, he advised me while my blood pressure wasnt excessively high, that taking Atacand would lower it a little and make my heart beat with greater efficiency.
Avatar n tn He takes Atacand, Norvasc and Bystalic for blood pressure, Zolof, Restasis for his eyes and an Excelon Patch for his memory. He is very stubborn and refuses to go to a geriatric doctor and his own doctors don't seem to know nor do they seem concerned about what's causing it.
Avatar n tn This may be indirectly related to your other symptoms as well and you may need to be evaluated further. The neck and occipital pain may be musculoskeletal issues as well and may respond to pain medications and ice pack. If it persists, you may need to have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else with high blood pressure might be able to shed some light on whether some symptoms I've been experiencing might have to do with high blood pressure or not. First a quick background; I'm 34, male, 250lbs. I've been fighting high blood pressure for a few years now.

Avatar n tn Hi If anyone out there has had leg weakness and heavy thighs after 7 months of having a PM ,would you have any hints and tips. My dad has had this problem since having it fitted. He has had it paced at 50 then again to 60 but he still has the problem. A angiogram also showed all clear we are not sure where to go from here he only uses 2mg of atacand and otherwise extremley fit. Can't bike ride anymore and he can only just walk around the block before fatigue sets in.
Avatar f tn I've always had low bp, usually around 100/50 and my heart rate runs from 48 to 58 and I function completely normally. Even after exercising or jogging, it's rarely above 90. Very seldom do I get dizzy and I think when I do get dizzy, it has more to do with my breathing than my heart rate - my sinuses are so bad. I'm extremely active most of the time and it doesn't slow me down a bit.
Avatar f tn Get your lab results IE TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 Including the reference ranges they use and post them here, then members can comment and explain them to you. Its hard to respond without labs.
1051752 tn?1253833456 Imitrex on the other hand is migraine medication and will stop a migraine. Advil is not migraine medication and can cause problems by making headaches worse. Imitrex is migraine medication that is specifically for migraine and it will stop a migraine. Most migraines do not come with aura. Take that into consideration when you get a headache that feels exactly like your regular migraine just without an aura. That means you are having a migraine. You don't need an aura to have a migraine.
Avatar n tn Your father needs to follow his doctor's orders. Three yrs on these meds and so far no side effects I would not worry. As for side effect for long use? BP meds have to be taken long term otherwise the side effect " without" meds could be a stroke or heart attack. As for the natural stuff, it depends how high your father's BP is, and what his doctor says.
Avatar n tn I am now on betaloc 100mg half a tablet / 12 hours and atacand 8mg at lunch time. my BP is average 130/80 and my HR is average 70 bpm. I still suffer from these attacks of irregular heart beats lasting fo seconds and without any other symptoms. another doctor advised me to do an upper GIT endoscopy or barium meal. I am very much confused ...
494976 tn?1302710701 anyway I had MRI and diagnosed with migraine, no epilepsy. I thought migraine was a pounding headache but mine is constant, not throbbing. I do feel sick sometimes but my eyes always look 'heavy' when I have the headache.
Avatar n tn Sounds suspiciously like a migraine. The throbbing and pulsing can be very scary if you are not fully certain it is a migraine. Best treatment is to try and stay calm, Mersyndol or Zavance, stay in a dark room, plenty of fluids. When you feel better - go to you GP and get checked out.
1100598 tn?1413127426 Morphine is usually something I personally suggest migraineurs avoid just because it can cause nausea and vomiting, and why add more nausea and vomiting to our migraine symptoms... although everyone is unique and some people do find that this medication works for them.
734343 tn?1239601741 For several hours before a migraine I get so so hungry. I can eat and eat and eat and nothing eases it. Then like clockwork, I start to get a migraine. For a long time I thought that I had low blood sugar that would trigger the migraine, but now it seems more like an early symptom of the migraine, not the other way around. It's so weird, and fattening too!
410281 tn?1254229064 A third study found that 20% of a sample group of people with MS had a family history of migraine, compared to 10% of controls, suggesting that there may be a common predisposing factor to both MS and migraine. Vascular or migraine type headaches have even been reported as the first symptom of MS." The question remains: If these Neurologists have gone through YEARS of schooling and spent hundreds of thousands on their educations, then why can't they get past the headache dx??????
Avatar n tn A couple of weeks later I made the garlic bread again (without having realised the connection) and the next day I woke up with a migraine and was in bed for about 6 hours with a migraine! So i am now 100% sure its the garlic. When I think back to over the years I have realised that its not choc, cheese, red wine or coffee that give me a migraine...its that white little bulb! Im so glad ive figured it out as now I know to completely stay clear of garlic!! Is this the case for anyone else?
Avatar f tn I had the Mirena IUD inserted four days ago and have had a continuous migraine. I frequently get headaches, but nothing like this. I have pain behind my eyes and feel dizzy and it hurts worse than any headache I've ever felt. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Will it go away? Or should I see my Dr.?
