Never heard of it. (And I frequent websites with thousands of diabetics). Is there a special reason your doctor is concerned about your kidneys? The best protection for your kidneys is the same thing that protects against other diabetic complications: Well-controlled blood sugar.

I'am worried about p.a.d. I had a stress test a little over a year ago, Doc said everything looked good. Could sitting make my feet swell? I take 3 meds to treat my blood pressure, clonidine, Atacand and atenolol. Lately after taking the clonidine I find myself so tired and I've been taking this medication for 8 years. Just a week ago, I had flushing of my face and itching especially on my chin and cheeks. I felt it was an allergic reaction to makeup so I've tried not to use any if I don't have to leave the house. I am getting so tired by evening that I fall asleep watching TV. I am 58 and feel like 90. This is NOT living.

All antipsychotics can cause weight gain, sedation, high blood pressure and the potential for diabetes. Zyprexa however is the most likely out of the antipsychotics to have that potential. Zeldox has less of a potential but it does have some cardiac concerns. You might inquire about Abilify. As well two recently released antipsychotics are Fanapt and Saphris. Their side effect profile is similar to Abilify. You should speak to your psychiatrist about all this and see how they can help you.

Frank Pallone and Steve Rothman and U.S. Sens. Robert Menendez and Frank Lautenberg -- each had appealed to the FDA on ReGen's behalf, according to accounts last year from Rothman and spokesmen for the three others. In a statement Thursday, the FDA said it is taking steps to revoke Menaflex's approval, although it also plans to meet with the company to discuss what data would be needed to prove the device is actually safe and effective.

Have been on Fentanyl patches (100mcg) for 3 years for neuropathy of both feet/legs and fingers (thank You diabetes type 2). Put them behind each shoulder abd also use Fentora 800mcg for breakthrough pain, but it doesn't always work depending on what type of pain it is (ie: Fentanyl will not stop a toothache). I stopped taking it for 3 days and the pain that came back was beyond what I'd felt ever before and practically ate the patch to get it on to start working.
They may also prevent diabetes and reduce the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and an enlarged heart. ARBs may also prevent the recurrence of atrial fibrillation. ARBs also are beneficial for a significantly lower risk of dementia. Too bad that I had a bad reaction from one of them. I should probably try another one. But, currently I'm starting to take Savella (proven to help Fibromyalgia--another pain inducer) in place of my Effexor--gradually that is.
I was diagnosed with DCM in April 2007 and am taking Coreg CR 40 mg, Atacand 16 mg, and hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg for it (along with other meds for diabetes, cholesterol, and reflux). I was feeling exhausted this entire time and couldn't do simple household chores. I also wasn't sleeping well at all during the night. Last month, I saw the internist at my cardiologist's office and she suggested I move the Coreg to bedtime. It has made a world of difference to my energy level.

I have long suspected a connection between HCV and high blood pressure, as well as diabetes, increased cholestorol, triglycerides, and other problems. Often gastric complaints seem to go hand in hand with HCV infection. My opinion is that the virus also attacks blood vessels, gastric mucosa, sexual tissues, salivary tissues, as well as liver tissues, and causes a multitude of system-wide problems. This virus will continue to gain attention as more is understood about its consequences.
I've been taking hypertension drugs for 30 years. Right now I'm taking an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (Atacand) and a calcium channel blocker (can't remember which). I've also taken beta blockers and ACE inhibitors. They all work. The coughing that the ACEs cause is harmless. One thing I didn't see mentioned is that I think the cardiologists use a stress test to diagnose HT. A normal persons BP goes down but with HT it goes up.
One should always try to exercise, if no more than 30 minutes of brisk walking at least 5 days a week. Exercise is very beneficial to ones overall health and can help keep diabetes and hypertension under control and at bay, which are major contributing factors to cardiovascular disease. If you are given the green light to exercise by your doctor, do so by all means, it will only benefit you in the long run and might even add to your longevity. Take care.
The first thing that happens is a feeling of heat in my shoulders that rapidly intensifies and spreads across the front of my chest up to my neck. And it then quickly spreads down both arms and suddenly that part of my body gets soooooooo weak. I have to stop whatever I'm doing, it's soooo strange and intense. I almost feel like I'm going to collapse. My arms stay weak for a few minutes after while I just try to get myself back together.
