J's Nose Drops works wonders for me and it even gets rid of any sinus infections that I may have. There is also another product called "Allermac" by Jernigan Nutraceuticals. Dr. David & Sara Jernigan's formulas work very well for me... they are even curing lyme disease without the use of antibiotics ! I recently purchased the Allermac and its working great.
i have a very very persistent sinus allergy. nose blocks all the time over a year now and getting worse! i have been prescribed all this **** and none of it seems to work. all i have is my nose that gets blocked so often that i have to breathe with mouth and also have a permanent sore throat. currently in indiana. If someone can give me professional advice or recommend a specialist it would be appreciated!!! As i think my condition keeps getting worse.
He sprays your nose first to make it numb and then he or she inserts a small tube that goes up your nose so they can see whats going on. My sinuses are constantly inflammed but no infection. I was then sent for a facial cat scan. This showed fluid in my sinues. I have burning in my face, pain in my ears, difficulty swallowing and am generally miserable on a daily basis.
have had post nasal drip as long as I can remember. I am a 52 yr old mail, 5'9", 195lbs. My PND gummed up the back of my throat enough in July of this year to wake me everytime I nod off. I am now on sleep medication, clonazepam, Lunesta, now but which is barely working, Atavan is better and I can sleep but sedatives cannot be taken forever and this PND doesn't seem to be going away.
ve also been taking Atenolol and spraying copious amount of Astelin nasal spray up my nose several times in the evening and at night. I have even been letting it run down the back of my throat and swallowing it because it's the only thing that makes me feel at least somewhat relaxed and sleepy.
However, I have begun to wonder if the Astelin and/or Atenolol might be actually aggravating my anxiety symptoms and making me feel worse.
A quick trip to the doctor and I was told that I had some kind of nasty allergic reaction which clogged my sinuses, gave me a post nasal drip which in turn caused the sore throat and asthma to act up. She prescribed Astelin, a nasal spray antihistamine and described the allergic reaction as a sort of systemic thing and that the astelin should clear it all up. That was Wednesday. I've been using it as told since then and I've only really noticed a very very slight improvement.
I have taken Astelin before being cured of hepatitis C. Astelin doesn't produce serious side effects like you are claiming. Your symptoms maybe connected to hepatitis C but very much doubt it's connect to Astelin and Hepatitis C. Regardless, I can tell you that I experience nothing like what you are suggesting while taking Astelin.
Can one experience "late-phase" allergy symptoms like malaise, fatigue, headaches, Eustachian tube dysfunction etc. without EVER experiencing "early-phase" symptoms like runny nose, itchy eyes etc. ? I do occasionally have a scratchy throat, but this is very seldom.
I have been experiencing these "late-phase" symptoms for several months now, and was recently diagnosed (via skin ***** test) with allergic rhinitis to dust mites and pollen.
Last week I shared a nose drop with my friend from whom I don't anything about his HIV status. He had a running nose and possibly blood in his nose. Before I used the nose drop I didn't check if there was blood on the small tube that my friend used to put the nose drop solution in his nose. After he was finished he put the small tube back in the nose drop solution container, this tube came into contact with his nasal secretions and possibly his blood.

I have several suggestions.
First, add a sinus rinse to your routine. They sound gros, but they are so effective.
Another thought is to cosider trying Patanase instead of the Astelin. Astelin wasn't a problem for me, but it sucesseors Astepro and Astepro 0.15% were horrible. I felt better when I didn't use the med then when I did. I got very congested after using it and it lasted about 5 hour with constant, Astepro drainage.
Lastly, it may be time to consider allergy shots.

I have some problems that have been bothering me for some years now - almost 10.
I have a stuffed sinus, dry nasal passages, massive phlegm in throat (drip down) and I can't get rid of it.
I've tried expectorants (Claritin-D, Mucinex, +more), nasal rinses, nasal sprays (Rhinocort, Astelin, +more), all to no avail. It doesn't matter where I am (dry, humid, hot, cold) and it's distressing.
I have googled it to no end. He also put me on Astelin which has helped a ton and he said Docs cant be so quick to judge and just call everything allergies. The reason I dont have allergies is I am just congested in the face and nose I dont have anyother sypmtoms such as Itchy anything or sore throats.
I feel your pain. I have had chronic sinusitis for probably 25 years. I was a smoker and all of the doctors said what can you expect, you are a smoker. I quit 20 years ago and the chronic sinusitis never let up. I have had the classic allergy tests and gone in for shots 3x per week and that did nothing. I have gone to a dozen allergists and they have tried sprays and medicine that work for a month and assumed that I had asthma which none of the treatments work.
My allergist says my underlying problem all along has been allergic rhinitis, and she has put me on Nasonex and Astelin, besides given me instructions on 'dust-proofing' my bedroom. I'm an otherwise healthy 30 y/o male with no previous history of allergies or any serious/chronic illness. I recently also had a blood test, which was normal except for slightly elevated Lymphocytes.
My question: Can allergic rhinitis present without coughing, runny/congested nose and itchy eyes?
A few hours after using Brochlor eye drops to treat conjunctivitis I have completely lost my taste and sense of smell. I don't have a cold or blocked nose. Is this normal as side effect not stated. Will this last a long time? Am I damaging something by using drops? Thank you.
Yes I tried Astelin, with all the thick post nasal drainage and my eyes get watery, well after I use the Astelin at night, I wake up in the morning and my eyes are not watery but they almost look like the tear film thickened up over my eyes as well as making the post nasal drainage thicker. I think seriously that I have tried EVERY nasal spray that was ever invented. My doctor even had a pharmacy make up a special nose spray for me .
