Common Questions and Answers about Astelin nasal spray reviews

astelin

Avatar f tn ve been seeing an allergist because my allergies have really bothered me this year. He prescribed a medicine that is a nasal spray called Astelin. I hope I don't seem 'weird' asking his but have any of you been on one of these type of nasal sprays while having Hep C? If so, did you feel worse using the spray? I've been on it two days and it's making the area of my liver hurt and also in between my shoulder blades.
Avatar n tn A quick trip to the doctor and I was told that I had some kind of nasty allergic reaction which clogged my sinuses, gave me a post nasal drip which in turn caused the sore throat and asthma to act up. She prescribed Astelin, a nasal spray antihistamine and described the allergic reaction as a sort of systemic thing and that the astelin should clear it all up. That was Wednesday. I've been using it as told since then and I've only really noticed a very very slight improvement.
Avatar m tn would a nasal spray help with the clicking and head aches and feeling of a full head and ear??
Avatar f tn ve also been taking Atenolol and spraying copious amount of Astelin nasal spray up my nose several times in the evening and at night. I have even been letting it run down the back of my throat and swallowing it because it's the only thing that makes me feel at least somewhat relaxed and sleepy. However, I have begun to wonder if the Astelin and/or Atenolol might be actually aggravating my anxiety symptoms and making me feel worse.
Avatar f tn Nope, no explanation. I wish I could ask questions there but I totally freeze up because I get extremely nervous. Then I try to come on here and get answers. I'm frustrated having to deal with this and I'm sure you are as well. This will be day 2 on the steroids and the Astelin nasal spray. No improvement yet but I'm trying to be patient. My doctor said they were going to refer me to an ENT if this hadn't resolved in 2 weeks. How long has this been going on for you?
Avatar n tn Added Astelin nasal spray and double Protonix dosage (10 days) Testing: Normal Chest XRAY Normal CT Scan Sinus Pending: Barium Swallow So, nothing is helping and the sensations are very troubling. IT is worth noting that I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroidits about one year ago because of active anti thyroid antibodies.
Avatar m tn He has been to an allergist a few years ago foudn out he was allergic to trees, grass etc and animal dander and was prescribed steroid spray and it helped some after a few days but I wanted to know is there new drugs that will help or should we just try to suffer through? Someone has mentioned antihistimine spray??? PLease give any and all advice on heling his allergies.
Avatar n tn m now back on the Flixonase Nasal Spray. (The Nasule drops are much stronger than the sprays.) I know exactly what you mean when you say you think you're drowning - it really is the most awful sensation. I used to wake up with a feeling of not being able to breathe, as though I was choking to death. Like you I tried several anti-histamines but they didn't have any affect on the PND. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I had the exact same problem with excessive postnasal drip and was given antibiotics, steroid nasal spray, Astelin, you name it, and nothing helped. Finally, out of sheer desperation, I did some research online and found a product called SinusBuster. This is a nasal spray which contains all natural infection, bacterial and fungal, fighters, so I decided to give it a try.
Avatar f tn I feel your pain. I have had chronic sinusitis for probably 25 years. I was a smoker and all of the doctors said what can you expect, you are a smoker. I quit 20 years ago and the chronic sinusitis never let up. I have had the classic allergy tests and gone in for shots 3x per week and that did nothing. I have gone to a dozen allergists and they have tried sprays and medicine that work for a month and assumed that I had asthma which none of the treatments work.
Avatar f tn m on Zyrtec, Singulair, Benadryl, Advair, Flonase, Astelin, Mucinex and STILL have drainage and chest/nasal congestion. Feeling rundown and tired and want to get over this. This is the second time I've been through somethine like this in 2011. Any advice would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn I would try the meds you were given however the nasal spray I had that was suppose to help did nothing for me.
Avatar f tn Yes it it safe I had a cold and the doctors still recommend nasal spray for me!
Avatar f tn The only thing that allows me to breathe is a nasal spray equivalent to afrin. I used to be addicted yrs ago but now I only use it in dire emergency....like before eating or bed because I can't sleep if I can't breathe through my nose. In the past 3 days I've only used it at night and a couple other times during the day when it was really bad! I try to hold off as long as possible without using it. And I only use 1 or 2 sprays and usually only in 1 nostril.
Avatar f tn If it's,allergies you could take benadryl. That helps me when im sick and stuffy.
Avatar n tn I just read a terrifying article about pregnant women using nasal spray in their first 3 months of pregnancy. It said it cause heart and stomach defects. I used it off and on almost my entire first 6 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. Anybody else out there know anything?
548980 tn?1214822412 I eat well, I drink lots and lots of water, I dont drink alcohol, I do smoke-which i know i need to stop, and im on Nasonex spray, Astelin Spray, Allegra, Antivert (take as needed), Klonopin and Paxel (sp?). The Klonopin and Paxel are for the anxiety... Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn Hi there I am a 48 year old male with a history of chronic sinusitis and allergic rhinitis. I also have a deviated septum on the left side. Allergies run very deep in my family and this year (from what I understand) has been an especially harsh time for people suffering from allergies.
Avatar n tn I have had post nasal drip as long as I can remember. I am a 52 yr old mail, 5'9", 195lbs. My PND gummed up the back of my throat enough in July of this year to wake me everytime I nod off. I am now on sleep medication, clonazepam, Lunesta, now but which is barely working, Atavan is better and I can sleep but sedatives cannot be taken forever and this PND doesn't seem to be going away.
Avatar f tn The way I got rid of using nasal spray is to dilute the nasal spray 10% per week by using water or salt water. Continue use the diluted nasal spray, your nose will not noticed the difference. by the time (after 8 weeks) you get to 80% water, then you can cut it all off. There is a company sale this kind of diluted nasal spray solutions, but you can easily open the bottle and mix it with water yourself.
Avatar n tn My doctor has me taking the Hcg nasal spray, instead of the Hcg shots. Have any of you used the Hcg nasal spray? Should I have any concerns? Oh, and any advice before I start? Thanks and have a great day!
Avatar n tn It works by constricting (shrinking) blood vessels (veins and arteries) in your body. The nasal formulation acts directly on the blood vessels in your nasal tissues. Constriction of the blood vessels in your nose and sinuses leads to drainage of these areas and a decrease in congestion. One of its side effect may be elevation of blood pressure and an irregular or fast heartbeat.
