Business man2 mineral tablet (“A to Z” brand), - 1 raspberry keytone (sold by Walgreens), - 2 fish oil soft gels 1200mg (Walgreens brand) , - 2 ibuprofen (200mg each) usually, OR 2 acetaminophen (500mg each), OR 2 naproxen sodium (220mg each), OR 1 Rx meloxicam 15mg. Avatar m tn on day 10....today my doctor prescribed me Naproxen for my chronic back pain. I know I could search this, but would rather ask anyone with any experience with it's use. Good idea or not to use after 10 days clean. I dont even know if it's a "mild" narcotic or not, however I believe it's similar to Aleeve. Advice? thanks in advance.
603946 tn?1333941839 NSAIDs reduce the effectiveness of platelets, so ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen are out. But acetaminophen has no effect on platelets, so I wonder why the warning?
780647 tn?1304020942 I also see that a physician prescribed Arthrotec for you. Arthrotec is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in people at high risk for developing stomach or intestinal ulcers. Both conditions can be extremely painful which explains the symptoms you are experiencing. Have you began the medication yet? It may take some time before you see the benefits. Some times NSAID's need to "build up" in your system before they are truly effective.
Avatar f tn I am going to see a specialist. My family doctor put me on arthrotec 75 mg. which does help with the pain. I can now move my arms without horrible pain. I am supposed to take it twice a day but it is unbelievable the cost of this stuff. Is that something they use for Fibro ? Any of this type medication has bad side effects.
Avatar f tn I have come to the conclusion that it might be tied to the naproxen. I think that due to 5+ yrs of vicodin use that he might have compromised his liver & kidneys so that the naproxen is causing his kidneys to be effected. Has anyone else ever experienced any side effects like this from anything containing the naproxen?
Avatar f tn I am not diagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis yet sice all the test results are negative, but the doctor thinks i might be catching the early stage of the one. My doctor prescribed Naproxen. I took it and it works for the meantime but does it actually prevent from arthritis to stop the development of the disease or the symptom, or it's just a temporary pain relief?
Avatar n tn i have an undisplaced tibia fracture and the doctor prescribe arthrotec. i want to know could it slow down the healing process? is it necessary to use arthrotec?
Avatar f tn I cannot sleep longer than for 2 hours. I was given Tramadol and Arthrotec for the pain. I now take Arthrotec and paracetamol after suffering a vomiting fit. I am tired of waiting to receive an appointment to see the hospital neurosurgeon to whom I was referred. I was told to get an ambulance back to hospital immediately if I became incontinent or numb in that area. What does '...
Avatar n tn 00 PM on Thursday, can I drink at 7:00 PM on Friday even though, according to the half-life, there is still about one-third the amount of naproxen in my system? And if I took 2 units of naproxen at 7:00 PM, then in the afternoon the next day, I'd still have the equivalent of 1 unit of Naproxen in my system due to half-life metabolization. This would mean that if I drank alcohol that afternoon, it is the same as if I had just taken 1 naproxen on top of whatever I'm drinking. Yes?
Avatar n tn One or the other. I find Naproxen the most helpful, as it works more quickly. Aleve is a brand name for OTC Naproxen. Tyelenol is in a different category. Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS) are the ones you want to treat inflammation. Aspirin is also in this class. Again, only use one form of these and not all of them.
393986 tn?1303825975 s group is crazy active, (like it is here) I did start a drug called Arthrotec and it ended up me being in the hospital with a GI bleed, go figure, finally find a combination that seemed to be working good... Grrr... I've been off treatment completely for about a month now and I am back in a flare... I'm going to have to start doing the injections, and I am a big chicken-s**t!!! But anyway, gotta go for now!!! I Miss You All!!!
Avatar f tn The other thing that is important is to avoid anything that is an NSAID. So no Aleve, Advil, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Arthrotec, Celebrex, Naproxen, and many cough and cold medicines will also have ibuprofen in them. It takes a while to get used to but you find new favorites. I do still mourn the loss of the tomato though! Good luck.
Avatar f tn Naproxen is just ibuprofen, which is Motrin and Aleve. I would think Celebrex would help a lot more than Naproxen. It can't hurt to ask for it. Naproxen didn't do anything for me, except hurt my stomach. The Celebrex helped a lot, right away.
Avatar f tn Yes, don't use the Sumitriptan or the Naproxen or any NSAIDs before surgery. If the Naproxen wasn't on the list, it should be, because it's an NSAID. With the Imitrex, it would be better to be safe than sorry. I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like it would be a safer bet to struggle through those migraines for the next couple of weeks. I do know for sure with the Naproxen, because it's an NSAID.
Avatar n tn I hear that naproxen may hurt one's kidneys, and surely I don't want that to happen. But the naproxen helps relieve some of my pain but I don't take it too often. So how much is too much?
