Common Questions and Answers about Arthrotec half life
arthrotec
11 weeks ago I fractured my left-humerus (clean in half, mid-bone but little closer to elbow) while bench pressing at the gym using heavy dumbbell weights. It has now been 2.5 months (in a cast at first then sling/brace) and still no-union of bone but my arm does feel much better. The doctor said that he did see some minimal amount of callus formation a few weeks ago but on yesterday's x-ray he said it looks worse than it did three weeks ago which is really dissapointing news to me.

It has a very long half life, though I can't give you specifics. The dose and how long you were on it does factor in. Your doctor should be able to help you with your questions on this.

I also see that a physician prescribed Arthrotec for you. Arthrotec is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in people at high risk for developing stomach or intestinal ulcers. Both conditions can be extremely painful which explains the symptoms you are experiencing. Have you began the medication yet? It may take some time before you see the benefits. Some times NSAID's need to "build up" in your system before they are truly effective.
I am going to see a specialist. My family doctor put me on arthrotec 75 mg. which does help with the pain. I can now move my arms without horrible pain. I am supposed to take it twice a day but it is unbelievable the cost of this stuff. Is that something they use for Fibro ? Any of this type medication has bad side effects.
The mean half-life for multiple doses in the body is about 12 days, but very long-term kinetics are dominated by the kinetics of RBCs (half-life 40 days). RBCs store ribavirin for the lifetime of the cells, releasing it into the body's systems when old cells are degraded in the spleen.
ok plz if I am explaining this wrong (anyone feel free to correct me if I am ) The 36 hour halflife mean half of the dosage is still active at 36 hours ??

I cannot sleep longer than for 2 hours. I was given Tramadol and Arthrotec for the pain. I now take Arthrotec and paracetamol after suffering a vomiting fit. I am tired of waiting to receive an appointment to see the hospital neurosurgeon to whom I was referred.
