426655 tn?1219893192 Hand cramping very painful, unable to make a fist, feet and ankles also very painful, trouble walking specially going down stairs. Lots of back pain, shoulder pain too. No swelling, occasional tingling in both feet after sitting for a while. Neurologist appointment, no operation will help as nerve root does not seem compromised. Rheumatologist report seem to put blame on the medication and suggest stopping looking for new findings. Bone scan was performed today... result are pending.
780647 tn?1304020942 Hi Jack, Welcome back. I see that you pain continues and I am sorry for that. I also see from your other community posts that you have seen a physician. Can you share with us what diagnosis he/she gave you? I also see that a physician prescribed Arthrotec for you. Arthrotec is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in people at high risk for developing stomach or intestinal ulcers. Both conditions can be extremely painful which explains the symptoms you are experiencing.
Avatar f tn ice packs, heat pads, massage therapy, physiotherapy, yoga, meditation, hydrotherapy, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), spinal cord stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, other types of neurolytic blocks, aromatherapy, Reiki, acupressure and acupuncture, guided imagery and biofeedback. Usually a combined approach of a pain killer and a non-medication therapy helps give best pain relief. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!

513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar f tn I also get pain on my stomach right where that bump is where your ribs come together on the lower chest bone (especially upper middle pain), the pain can go up to my left shoulder and even sometimes up the side of my neck and jaw. Now very comfortable. I was on Arthrotec and Mefenamic (at different times) and both really did a number on my stomach. Now I'm on iv morphine.
Avatar m tn I had a lot of side effects from the steroids. I had anxiety, acne, weight gain and night sweats and a general crazy feeling. The injections also only lasted me a month. I would not get them again because of the side effects. Also four times a year is way too much. The steroids can cause weakening of the tendons and joints if done too many times in the same spot as well as bone loss.
393986 tn?1303825975 s group is crazy active, (like it is here) I did start a drug called Arthrotec and it ended up me being in the hospital with a GI bleed, go figure, finally find a combination that seemed to be working good... Grrr... I've been off treatment completely for about a month now and I am back in a flare... I'm going to have to start doing the injections, and I am a big chicken-s**t!!! But anyway, gotta go for now!!! I Miss You All!!!
Avatar f tn In July of this year I began to have a constant pain (that was nothing like a migraine at all) in the lower-back right of my head). I went to my primary doctor whom I no longer see because of her rudeness to my pain, as well as several urgent care visits and three ER visits. Finally I was able to get an appt with a neurologist (I hadn't seen one for several years due to finances and being in college). He diagnosised me with Hemicrania Continua.
Avatar f tn I was perscribed recently arthrotec 75 a antinflamitory. This does relief some of my stiffness, unfortnatly not all the pain. The doctors in my town will not percribe pain medications. I don't know what I can do. I can't seem to get proper help. Anyone whom wants to help email me at ***@**** .
Avatar f tn He has a lot of trouble swallowing, and when he eats, he is in pain afterwards (double over, sometimes puking) Within the last two months, this pain has started to radiate across his chest, through the rib cage and into his back. I have never seen someone in so much pain, although he tries to hide it. We have been to the ER time and time again.. First they gave him drugs for his back pain T3, apodiazapine? and arthrotec..
Avatar m tn I'm on very high dose of morphine tablets plus dihydrocodeine, zydol, baclofen, arthrotec, paracetamol & oramorph solutiion for my back pain. I have taken this for 5 years & now doctors are saying I need to cut down. They said to stop taking 1 x 60mg morphine tablet which i've done 5 days sgo but itls hell. My wife has found a detox place to get me off everything in 5 days. Would this be a good idea as i'm still in a lot of pain with my back. Hope to hear any suggestions.
Avatar m tn I am a registered nurse who has been experiencing pain just below my rib cage right side through to my back for almost 12 weeks the pain was coming and going for a while then got more sever and constant worse with movement. No injury or strain brought this on it is worse at night and in the morning it is preventing me from sleeping and wakes me. If I get into a comfortable position I am ok for a bit but movement and sneezing can make it unbearable.
Avatar n tn Mine was easily doubled from the combo drugs. I have a wonderful hep doc and never held back with pain meds. To this day still use a fentanyl patch - 75 along with duladid for break through pain. Patches are nice as to regulating releif and last three days, but NOT as effective as oxy. Nsaids do not do much for moderate to severe pain and can certainly strain or damage your liver.
Avatar n tn i have an undisplaced tibia fracture and the doctor prescribe arthrotec. i want to know could it slow down the healing process? is it necessary to use arthrotec?
Avatar n tn My primary physician has taken me off of ant-inflammatory meds because of the danger to the kidneys and told me to take pain meds to control the pain. Pain meds do not control the pain, either over the counter or prescribed and the stiffness in hips and knees and feet is affecting my balance. I asked if continues joint destruction would occur if I stopped the anti-inflammatory meds and he replied "no".
