499534 tn?1328704178 t going more hypo with the dosage i started 3 wks ago when i started armour. He was also leery of the armour. So it is too soon to see and increase in the T3 levels? strange as the others are already getting better. I am a little nervous about taking this dexamethasone pill for my am draw....I have to take it at midnight tonight. I am always chicken about taking pills. :) I hate meds!! He is thinking cushings but i have low blood pressure, and low glucose levels with high am cortisol.
1018337 tn?1251567540 I have tried synthroid years ago and it didn't help at all, infact I was more tired, so I took myself off and haven't been on meds for years. I just started with a new GP and we spoke about armour thyroid meds, I have started, it has been about 1 1/2 weeks. Don't really feel a change yet. Wondering how other people feel about the armour and your experiences.
15961113 tn?1444259013 My levels are always checked every 3-4 months. I am on Armour Thyroid, 30mg Mon and Wed and 60mg the other days.
1401696 tn?1280838616 I hate to tell you this but Naturethroid went to a different process too - similiar to the Armour thyroid change. In fact, almost identical. The filler by-component MCC is what's making people less responsive to the NT hormones for hypothyroidism In the beginning you may find increased wellness but could crash again down the road. If all else fails and this happens. You do have choices besides Canadian thyroid.
1369218 tn?1282423884 Next month I am seeing a new doc that has great reviews with thyroid. I am scared to try armour because of the new formulation. Aren't most people going to Canada for meds? Cytomel makes me very racey and hyper. I do not like it. I have been told by different endos that I am on a high dose of Synthroid and I might feel pretty bad if I switch over. I also last year tried Synthroid and Naturethroid together and did not feel better.
Avatar f tn I have Hosimoto's and I've taken Armour Thyroid since 2000 and will never take anything else. Armour Thyroid is all natural - not synthetic. The doctor who first put me on it only prescribed Armour. He didn't like the long term affects that could be caused by taking synthetics. I had surgery in 2002 and 2/3'ds of my thyroid removed. The surgeon wanted to take me off Armour and put me on Synthroid but I wouldn't let him.
Avatar n tn I'm curious to know if anyone got their hair back using armour thyroid. I switched to armour two months ago...I'm taking 2.5 grains.. All my symptoms have almost vanished but my hair..My hair has not stopped falling yet,., I'm having all my hopes on armour. So please let me know if anyone experienced positive results for the hair using armour..
4939681 tn?1361299299 to loose weight, however two of the 10 reviews was from thyroid sufferers and they greatly recommended him. If you have a brief moment... this is his website (www.drbloem.com). Would love to hear what you think!
765572 tn?1234697366 I found company from the United Kingdom called IA, International Antiaging that sells many drugs including Forrest Armour thyroid, I was thinking of buying this here because none of my Dr's will help me and I am sick and tired of feeling so sick and tired, Anyone know about this copany and if it is legitimate??
Avatar f tn As far as hypothyroidism, we need to know what your current thyroid hormone levels are in order to know if you need a dosage increase or not; your symptoms indicate that you might. You should be getting tested for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH on a regular basis. If not, you definitely need a new doctor, but it's debatable, whether that doctor needs to be an endocrinologist or not, since some/many endos specialize in diabetes and, actually, know very little about thyroid issues.
Avatar f tn Thyroid Lab Results are Affected by the Time of Your Last Dose... "T3 containing medications (such as desiccated thyroid or Cytomel) cause a peak in Free T3 levels a few hours after ingestion (42% within the first 4 hours), and then a decline until the next dose. [1] Even T4 medications like Synthroid or levothyroxine cause a small bump in thyroid levels a few hours after a dose (16% rise in Free T4 with no change in free T3).
1401696 tn?1280838616 tpo border line but normal. Did i mention I had to suggest they do an ultrasound of my thyroid? well a small solid nodule was found. Decided to go to an endo. which allowed to try the Armour, put me on 90 mg (1 1/2) grains....I switched from one day to another and it was ok, I started getting some feelings of hypo tired fatugue cranky? so began taking 1/4 grain more. I got worse. Three weeks later do my labs and my tsh is now .23.....my free t3 was a little high too.
Avatar m tn I understand Thyroid-S to be equivalent to Armour and other prescription NDTs, and not an OTC supplement. Lots of people in the UK seem to do very well on it as, as it is very difficult to get a prescription for Armour or other NDTs. Personally, I am not so sure about the dyes and fillers in it though.
Avatar m tn Another possibility is to use this list of top thyroid doctors and go through the ones in your area and read patient reviews and see if any are interesting. You can also go to the Armour thyroid site and look up doctors in your area that prescribe Armour. http://www.thyroid-info.com/topdrs/ After you select some possibilities, then I would call the office and relate that you are looking for a good thyroid doctor and ask if you could ask a couple of questions of one of the nurses.
Avatar n tn I was miserable on Synthroid ( very very low T3 ) and I switche to Armour meds. I feel much better and only get the occassional dry feeling now. OMG I sympathize so much with you. I hope you get relief.
