Avatar n tn I am in urgent need of Armour Thyroid....I live in India....my hair is falling out in clumps and i will soon be bald! I bought some while i was in the US two years ago and what is left of it has gone beyond the expiration date!! Please help!
Avatar f tn I have tried everywhere and can't find any pharmacy around my area. I', 3 hours from Dallas. What would be your suggestion to find the Armour Thyroid in Texas or online. Isn't it very, very expensive to buy from Canada?
Avatar f tn This is the reason that we have now switched to Erfa brand desiccated thyroid from Canada. It is made in the way (similar fillers and binders) that Armour use to be. It is a good product and my thyroidles daughter is doing fantastic on it now for 2months. It is a prescription medication that can be mailed to you by a Canadian mail order pharmacy.
Avatar n tn How can I tell if I have the "old" or the "new" formulation of Armour thyroid?
793305 tn?1493925518 He says you can get a natural dessicated thyroid prescription filled and people report that they get as good results as with Armour thyroid. You can contact them at 800-279-5708 or www.womensinternational.com I have not done my homework on this yet, but was hoping it might be a good possibility for folks on the natural...I am on synthroid and dr's don't even talk about the natural here.
Avatar f tn Has anyone used the Thyroid Med called Thyroid by Erfa from Canada, if so what do you think? any side Effects? I hear it has way less additives and fillers. Is it expensive and was it hard to get.
Avatar m tn I am not addvertising for this outfit nor do I know anything about them but did receive in the mail an add for armour thyroid. They are in Canada. Please send me a message for more information.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately I don't know of a source for Armour Thyroid in India. My info is for a pharmacy in Canada from which it can be ordered, if you have a prescription. I think your best alternative would be to get your doctor to give you a script for a large quantity to take with you and take care of you at least for a while.
Avatar n tn I was on ERFA from Canada and recently switched to Armour (about 3 weeks). The reason I went back to Armour was that I would get a sick feeling that would last a couple of days on the ERFA> Now, with the Armour, it starting to do the same. I did have an abscessed tooth pulled in May that was thought to be sinus related and had it for 5 months. Then a week ago, infection where the tooth was pulled has me on antibiotics again. When I'm not sick, I feel good.
Avatar n tn I received an add the other day about armour thyroid. It can be gotten in canada, I don't use it but there is a web sight listed where you can order. Please PM me for more info.
Avatar f tn s very hard for us in Sweden to get hold of armour thyroid or erfa from the States nor Canada. So I have to make my desicions wisely. When I took Armour Thyroid (The new Armour Thyroid) I felt "foggy" all the time and I lost hair rapidly. I quit the treatment and am now thinking about switching to either nature thyroid or Erfa. I don't know which one's better. Appreciate answers from every single person. Blessings from Sweden.
798555 tn?1292787551 What is missing from that statement is that you have, in fact, stated to others than Erfa Thyroid did change the facility in which the pills are made. And as far as the “manufacturing technique”…patients clearly see a difference in the “new” batches. They are now slightly shinier, the indentations are deeper, and the new pills have a blotchy look that wasn’t there before. The photo above shows the difference between the old and new.
Avatar f tn I have been on Armour thyroid for a long time after having had one lobe of my thryoid removed for a non-malignent cyst. But O late I have had severe overall body itching shortly after I take my 30 mg. tab in the morning. Has anyone else had this reaction?
Avatar f tn I have never taken anything from Canada. (EA34 above takes thyroid from Canada) The free T3 was 3.1.( then went down to 2.4) My doctor then ran the TPO test which came out 136 (range 0 to 34). She will not run any more test until I am off caffeine for 3 to 4 months. I currently drink about 10 ounces of coffee in the morning. She also said I do not have Hashimoto's. I began taking Armour in May of 2012. I have been prescribed 2 grain since Oct. 2012.
798555 tn?1292787551 Another thing is again I have heard multiple sources complaining that the recent sale of Armourr to a new company has resulted in people saying that Armour is LESS effective. I had a thread on this several weeks ago. And I just heard it personally from another person who has also been following and has heard the reports. And similarly they also report DRAMATIC price increases. Like double to triple or more the cost of what it used to.
393685 tn?1425812522 ERFA thyroid in Canada is very close to the old Armour. Soon I will have personal experience to share with you as I ordered it and is coming this week ( fingers crossed) 2. Naturthroid/Westroid is available - but at this time a nationally shortage of meds is in the US ( that's why the Canada brand is going on right now) 3. compounding pharmacists are available and mixing what is said to be - close to Armour.
Avatar f tn Lab noted retest done to verify numbers. Physician found pharmacy with Armour thyroid available and has ordered a retest in a few weeks. In all the reading I've done, I can't find an hint as to what would cause TSH to jump in such a short time period? Any ideas?
1296717 tn?1272719314 Erfa Thyroid is from Canada and is said to be similar to old (before reformulation) Armour. Many seem to do well on it and no reports of formula change. If you are doing well on the compounded, then why switch and have to deal with all these changes and supply issues or the time/hassle of having to get it from out of the country (and who know's how long our gov. will continue to allow this anyway?) Hope I've helped you out some here with all this.
908150 tn?1243182960 This new med by Acella called Thyroid NP should in theory, absorb better than Armour since is dose not have Micro Crystalyn Cellulose for a filler, as the reformulated, since 2009 Amour does. So why do you feel off? hmmm...... The 'free T' testing is the most accurate method of testing what thyroid hormone is available for the cells in the blood. There in no way yet to test what the cells are really absorbing.
535882 tn?1396576685 this is very good news that np thyroid by acella is back in the drug stores. my endo wants me to start on it with the 30mg tablets. have you seen that dose in the pharmacies? also, what pharmacies have you found that carry np acella? i have not been able find the 30mg tablets anywhere in my area. thanks very much for your updates. they are quite helpful.
Avatar m tn I have a doctor who believes in Armour but not in Erfa. She claims all of her patients who have tried Erfa have been unhappy with it and wanted to go back to Armour. She told me to chew the pills up and I'd be fine. That worked with the 30, 60, 90 and 120 mg pills, but not with the 240 mg pills. They turn into a woody pulp in my mouth and leave me seriously hypothyroid.
Avatar n tn Needless to say I have noticed a change in the Armour Thyroid which I have been taking for the last 13 years, I was always taking between 90 to 105 (90+15) and in May I needed to be jumped to 120. I didn't feel much different and the weight has been gaining leaps and bounds. Is there any other pharmacutical group that makes the natural thryroid or can it be truly compounded? What are the other options, besides going back to the synthetics?
