Avatar f tn So you feel she should be raised back to 90 and just roll with the occasional shortness of breath for now? I have started her on an iron and vit c supplement and also a d3 to get her level back up. Its about 30 right now after supplementing..
1070570 tn?1283436213 So I went to a different doctor, that believes in T3/T4 treatment who put me on Armour, but I had this terrible shortness of breath feeling and racing heart, so I decided my adrenals weren't working right. So then he put me on compounded sustained release T3 and cortef twice daily. No T4 at all. I have been that on 3 weeks with no improvement. So I went to an endocrinologist and he disagrees totall with T3 treatment, says it doesn't work. yadda yadda.
803938 tn?1403748253 Hello, My doctor believes I may suffer from adrenal fatigue, she wants to repeat my tests in 3 weeks before doing anything. My main complaint is shortness of breath that comes from smells (detergents, perfumes) and also it can appear at the end of the day. For instance for the past 1.5 weeks, I have had shortness of breath starting in late afternoon for no reason. Here are my labs, done 2 weeks ago. If anyone can tell me how serious my adrenal problems are, that'd be great!
Avatar n tn Can this affect the T3 in armour and make me feel short of breath? Should I go see a hematologist? Once I get shortness of breath, should I just stop the mediciation for a few days and restart? If so, how many days 3 or 4 or 7? Any help would be very much appreciated!
Avatar f tn i've had shortness of breath that i think was from thyroid issues. i've had them when i was subclinical hyper and severely hypo. what are his tsh, ft3, ft4? maybe he's on too much or too little of one and/or both meds. he should really get these values tested so that his meds can be adjusted accordingly.
Avatar n tn I had severe shortness of breath and other symptoms due to severe bradypnea. At my worst, breathing dropped down to 6 breaths a minute. Bradypnea is my worst symptom of hypothyroidism. Bradypnea can lead to hypoxemia (low oxygen) and hypercapnia (high carbon dioxide). I had a false normal pulse oximeter (a sensor device placed on the fingertip) reading due to high carbon dioxide in the blood. Excerpt from Respiratory function in thyroid disease...
Avatar f tn Funny thing is that I still have the shortness of breath as well. And I am 12 weeks out from partial removal of the thyroid. So this must be thyroid related.
Avatar f tn for 1 month now and am experianceing some shortness of breath--have to stop to get my breath frequently with any excertion...In 2 more weeks, i am to get my blood work done again...
Avatar f tn Shortness of breath can be from being both Hyper or Hypo. It can also be from anxiety. What were your last lot of blood levels and how long agao? My guess is you may be Hypo and need an increase in your T4 meds (assuming you are on them).
Avatar f tn m doing 12.5 mcg and am having terrible problems w/ shortness of breath and just feeling tired. Can anyone help me? I can't seem to reach my dr. these last couple days and just feel miserable. I'm constantly taking deep breaths and yawning just trying to catch my breath. I have never had problems w/ this before now. Thanks for any help. I'm feeling like the cure is worse than the disease.
Avatar n tn When I am riding my bike I have no problems for miles but now and then if I race uphill it happens the shortness of breath and the pain in the chest. Its not a exhaustion pain it seems like its a jolt to the heart then shortness of breath, I had a stress test 5 years or more ago I flew by it with colors. I even had the doc turn it up so i can catch myself getting a short breath and pain never happened. The pain is first sharp then I get short of breath scary .
Avatar n tn I was experiencing rapid heart palipations and shortness of breath along with sweats like hot flashes. This has all but stopped since I am off Armour. What can do?? I want to feel good again!! My next bllod work is in three months.
Avatar f tn I already mentioned I went from Armour to synthetic T4. I did dismally on Armour. I only need T4. The half-life of T4 is 5 to 7 days; T3 is 1 day. At day 5 (based on your amount of T4 and T3 in 90mg of Armour) you'll have 50% left of T4 at 5 or 7 days and 0% by 5 or 7 weeks. Using the trusty half-life calculator, at day 5 you have 3% of T3 and 0% in 7 days.
Avatar m tn ve heard of many people switching from synthroid to a natural thyroid treatment such as Armour thyroid and feeling much better, i'm thinking of trying that myself? what are your thoughts? could it just be the iron deficiency?
Avatar f tn No, I don't have a cold. I've been told recently the shortness of breath is probably from low thyroid, and while my thyroid levels are on the low side, the shortness of breath didn't start until I increased my Cortef to 25mg, which I was told was a full replacement dose and anything lower would make me feel worse. I thought it was the fillers so that's why I tried the compounded one that only had a probiotic as a filler, and had the same reaction.
Avatar f tn I am on 15 grams of Armour thyroid and the only side effect that I have had is a little bit of sweating..I am also in menopause so I am not sure if this is why I am sweating more or the Armour. No other side effects thus far. I was on synthroid and it nearly took all of my hair out. I hated it.I kept asking the doctor about it and he was saying that it was nothing they could do because synthroid was the best medication to take.
Avatar m tn I only ask because, after having tachycardic episodes for over a year (never could catch one on a monitor, but I often had several a day) that also caused chest pressure and shortness of breath (all cardiac workup came back normal), my vitamin D levels were finally checked and were low (15). After 3 months at 10,000 units of D3/day, the tachycardic episodes all but vanished. -I don't know if this will help, but it's worth checking into, eh?
Avatar f tn If the cause is not yet known, the usual course of management is to observe for a period of time. Even if the heart and lungs are functioning properly, lifestyle modification is still recommended. Aside from heart problems, bradycardia can be due to high blood pressure, underactive thyroid gland, imbalance of electrolytes, inflammatory disease, and certain medications. Regular follow-up is highy recommended. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn In addition to the my tsh now down to a .64, which is really low for me, I have also had shortness of breath, fatigue, headaches, memory fog, and hair loss. I don't think I can get the NDT, but could ask for the additional t3 supplement drug, however with the free t3 being in the "normal" range, I doubt they would give it to me.
Avatar f tn Forgot to mention my symptoms on the 90mg were all hypo symptoms along with migranes, a heaviness on my chest and shortness of breath.
Avatar n tn I've been suffering from shortness of breath about the same time of the year every year for the last 8 years. I'm 46 now. They have done all kind of test on my lungs, thyroid and hart, including, stress tests, cat scans, etc. and everything is OK. I've been on Singular and Advair for allergies and asthma but still when I do some physical activities, I get short of breath really easily, even inside of my house with little chores.
Avatar f tn In the first 9 months I gained 22 lbs and had severe belly issues as well as muscle weakness, shortness of breath, foggy headed etc. Last July my doctor switched me to Armour thyroid 125mg which seemed to help the belly problem but not much else. My TSH at that time was 0.02. Then end of that month he changed it to 90mg. Since October I have lost 15 lbs have had some tremors and still the muscle aches and very irritable in general not feeling well.
Avatar f tn Low ferritin symptoms can mimic hypothyroidism. Shortness of breath is also a symptom of low ferritin levels. 93% of patients with ferritin under 50 ng/ml were iron deficient on bone marrow examination. 91% of patients with ferritin over 100 ng/ml were iron replete on bone marrow examination. Excessively low ferritin as well as low iron can resulting in hyper symptoms when raising desiccated thyroid (armour).
Avatar n tn Have you checked your adrenal glands? I have had shortness of breath for years and finally doctors are thinking of my adrenals, which from first lab results appear very depleted. Waiting for more results but it appears I have adrenal fatigue.
919456 tn?1243516870 I am on nature-throid and take metformin and was taking spironolactone for about 2 years, stopped it and tried to start it again months later and ended up with shortness of breath. It's random and the yawning to get that breath is frustrating. I've been off it for 1.5 months and i now wonder if it hormone related.
