Avatar f tn I might be pregnant and my psychiatrist told me not to worry about the embryo. He told me that even while I'm taking 15 mg of Aripiprazole and 50 mg of Sertraline daily, there is no danger. I'm really worried. if I'm pregnant, would these doses harm my embryo being taken daily?

774805 tn?1235948571 yes antipsychotic and called abilify in ireland and Us.
Avatar m tn I would try replacing the Aripiprazole (Abilify) and the Sertraline (Zoloft) by taking 25mg of 5-HTP 3x Daily for 1 week as anymore than this could induce Serotonin Syndrome. I would then recommend swapping the tablets out for a 5-HTP transdermal patch which will release a more even dose of 5-HTP throughout the day especially if you have BPD as otherwise the oral form could cause mania.
Avatar f tn I have just started taking Aripiprazole(Abilify) and have found it to have some beneficial effects on my mood. However I am also finding myself to be extremely drowsy. I have heard that this side effect wears off with time. Has anyone else experienced this? It's the first antipsychotic I've taken that's had any effect so I don't want to stop it but the fact I can literally go to sleep while standing up is making my life difficult.

1348086 tn?1370783185 My mother (she is 78) fell yesterday in the early evening and she will be all right but she busted her nose and knee and we had to get her to the hospital by ambulance. My therapist says that my mom is the culprit to my anxiety and other mental issues. When this happened I was on my way to pick up my daughter from the ex-wife. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep last night. We brought her home at around 10:00 and I had to get up early to get my daughter ready for kindergarten.
Avatar f tn The first doctor I consulted told me it was Dystonia and would most likely be progressive and get worse. After reading about dystonia I heard that it can be secondary to MS and some other neurological disorders, so I rang my neuro as I don't have a MS diagnosis but there was a big question mark as to if I might have MS.
Avatar n tn My father has had RLS for years and taking Sinemet to control it. Lately he has been acting differently almost like he has no control over his arms, mouth and legs. Can taking Sinemet for a long period of time cause Parkinson or similar disorders?
Avatar f tn I have minimal symptoms - occasional palpitations only. During my second pregnancy I was asked to have an echo and this and several others during and after my pregnancy identified low ejection fraction of 44%. Is this same as heart failure. If so is that the WPW may have caused the heart failure and if i get the arrythymia treated would this mean the heart failure might resolve?? I am not overweight, do not smoke or drink (much!).
Avatar f tn This is a long shot. I know it is. But do any mommies on here have wolff Parkinson white syndrome? I just would like yo know if your symptoms have gotten worse or returned. If so, what are they? I feel so crummy with this one cuz it has come back strong and is making pregnancy harder.

4321198 tn?1426545874 On Jan 11, 2005 had a second laminectomy. By August of 2005, I started walking like a drunken sailor. Waited for a year with no change to inbalance before going back to Neuro-surgeon. After a review of another MRI, she stated "i don't see anything". And that was it. (she moved later that year). Since then saw about 5 Neurologist and 1 Orthopedic doctor. Got lot of Physical therapy during the in between doctor reviews.
Avatar m tn We went back to the neurologist and he is still sure it is Parkinson. He says because my husband doesn't swing his arm and he has cogwheel rigidity in his wrist it has to be Parkinson. He did not want to do anything about th C5 C6 mild compression but my husband's neck and shoulder pain are getting worse. We go to a Movement Specialist this month for a second opinion.

Avatar f tn I have been off my meds because i ran out of refills for 21 days now (i used to take 10mg aripiprazole, 80mg duloxotine, and bupropion HCL XL 300mg.) i dont know if that would effect my period but it’s worth a shot putting it out there. I feel as though something is really wrong but I cannot afford a doctor/emergency care because i have no insurance or income. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Does anyone know what’s happening with my body?

Avatar n tn If you are referring to Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, or WPW syndrome, this condition occurs with the presence of an extra, abnormal electrical pathway in the heart and can lead to periods of a very fast heartbeat. This is present at birth and may include people of all ages. The cause of a small percentage of cases is due to an abnormal gene or gene mutation. It is also associated with some forms of congenital heart disease, such as Ebstein's anomaly. this link may help: http://www.
Avatar n tn I'm a little confused. Your suffering a major clinical depression and your worried about gaining weight? When I was suffering from this disease at it's worst, even if taking an AD medication ment that my hair would fall out and would cause me to gain 400Lbs, I would have still taken it. That's how bad I wanted the pain to stop. They all have side effects without exception.
