Arimidex side effects men

Common Questions and Answers about Arimidex side effects men

arimidex

Aches and pains are very common side effects with Arimidex. Mine can be awful and debilitating. Spent two days at Disney/Epcot recently and almost gave in for a wheelchair (no, it doesn't get you to the front of the lines!! LOL). I am also on Vytorin for cholesterol and a common side effect with that drug is guess what??? Aches and pains - so I have a double whammy.
But, on the other hand the herbs doesn't claim any type of side effects. It is estimated that 192,200 women and 1,500 men in the United States will be diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2001. Though rare in men, Breast cancer accounts for 31% of all cancer diagnosed in women. Breast cancer is a disease in which cancer cells are found in Breast tissue. Cancer that starts in the breast.
Since then, I have been on tamoxifen. Side effects are several and concerning, including a recent small stroke and ongoing indications of brain/head/eye disturbances. I have been put on asasantin to combat/prevent strokes My medical oncologist says stay on tamoxifen but my radiation oncologist says have a break for six to eight weeks to see what side effects disappear and then make a decision on whether to continue tamoxifen through the normal five year cycle.
Both my DH and her husband are now going off of the Clomid for the side effects (moodiness, vision issues) - so I might check into other alternatives. Your dosage seems a bit high - my DH was on 25 mg. Most women are first on 50 mg. Clomid does not start to take effect for 3 mos. There is not much info out there on this, so it is frustrating. My DH has now been prescribed Arimidex. He had some past success with his count using this.
Awwww JDM, why so bitter? All medications can have side effects. It seems that the beta blocker has helped your heart to calm down so that you are not bothered by tachycardia. When I was in my 50's it came as a surprise to me too that some of the symptoms I was feeling were due to aging, not to any specific disease. Sad but true, it comes to all of us if we live long enough. Really 25 mg of Atenolol is nothing.
Raloxifene has been found, in this population, to be as effective as tamoxifen for prevention with fewer side effects. As for women who have hormone positive breast cancer diagnosed, the research shows that aromatase inhibitors (such as arimidex) may be superior to tamoxifen in post menopausal women. Aromatase inhibitors are not currently indicated for use in women who have not had breast cancer. Similarly, Raloxifene has no established role in the treatment of breast cancer.
I want to stay on the femura as I feel it benifits me but don't know what to do about the side effects. Is there something i can take to help with my bones.
I was started on tamoxifen during radiotherapy but was changed early on to Arimidex as I am post menopausal, and Arimidex has a better chance of non recurrence. I am lucky in that I don't seem to have any side effects from the Arimidex, although some people do. The chemo is tough, but doable. I just wanted to think I had done everything possible to prevent a recurrence. Some ladies/men do not opt for chemo, or even rads, and this I respect.
Usually one or two Arimidex per week are enough to bring your estradiol (estrogen) level into a normal range without any bad side effects. The thing is not to give up on living a normal life as nature intended. With proper care and dedication, you can be even better than before. Good luck!
Try this little bit of info, While synthetic progesterone derivatives have been used to lower libido in men (1, 5), I believe that natural progesterone may in fact have the opposite effects in some men. I have heard patient anecdotes and from other medical doctors saying that application of a natural progesterone cream to the scrotum can increase libido and enhance orgasmic pleasure in some men..
Maybe if this were done fewer women would have to put up with so many side effects. Also why can't women be allowed to have a small amount of the weak estrogen estriol present in their body to offset problems caused by not having estrogen? Why must ALL the estrogen be destroyed y these drugs - seems like serious overkill in my opinion.
Are the aromatase inhibitors used for this purpose, and what are the side effects. I thought they were used for estrogen induced cancers and mostly with women.
I've tried all kinds of suplimentation and nothing has worked. Have you gotten an answer yet? Cialis does the trick, but has bad side effects: serious depression, from sweats to chills, lack of motivation and the list goes on so I try not to take it. I used to work out ALL the time and then 1day no sexdrive and I just had no urge to workout...I try to make myself work out but it's not the same as before. Unlike you though I never took any andro products...any answers yet?
Very worried at first due to the huge range of side-effects. I'll see if the effects wear off at all - I'm due to halve the dose in six weeks. All I can say is give it a go - your blood should be regularly monitored so it can always be stopped quickly if you can't tolerate it.
The Flagyl I only had to take for 10 days and fortunately didn't have the bad side effects you did. I have to see the Gastro doc around the end of February. Like I said the symptoms almost feel like hunger but I'm not hungry. I've actually lost about 6 pounds lately. I'm not sure what's going on. I have noticed certain foods bother me. I wish they'd do an allergy test on me. I may have to push for that. I'm doing well otherwise! I hope your appointment goes well. Keep in touch.
It has been speculated that the prolonged use of HCG could repress the body’s own production of gonadotropins permanently. This is why the short cycles are the best way to go. The side effects from HCG use include gynecomastia, water retention, and an increase in sex drive, mood alterations, headaches, and high blood pressure. HCG raises androgen levels in males by up to 400% but it also raises estrogen levels dramatically as well.
I have been on Paxil, Zoloft(Tremendous weight gain, lethargy, no sleep and nightmares), Cymbalta(horrible nausea), Effexor(disturbing hand tremors, Prozac and Imipramine(huge increase in attacks, and now my docs want me to try Lexapro and from what I have read on this forum, Lexapro is just as worse...even if the the docs say the side effects are less...they are not the ones taking it. Anxiety and panic can ruin people's lives unless they get good support from a therapist who actually cares.
Most healthy men have a normal LH pulse that averages 3.9. LH is released every 15 minutes on average. Another element of of this feedback loop is that elevated estridol counter-acting the effects of thyroid hormone. Estridol and thyroid hormone (T3) both fight for the same cell receptors and thus high estridol can over-power thyroid hormone and down regulate it's effects which stressess the body (which seeks an equilibrium) and can lead to weight gain.
It's pretty straightforward with minimal to no side effects. Can you still feel the varicoceles at all? Do they cause any kind of discomfort or problems beside the low t?
A friend of my sent me to a Doc that raises tour testosterone using bio similar steroids . No side effects supposedly . He put six pellets in my hip .It's been 3 weeks and I feel terrific . I haven't had my blood test to check my testosterone but I suspect it will be in the six hundred range . I suggest to anyone to have your testosterone level raised with bio similar steroids. Oh by the way it lasts six months .
it usually starts from bottom right side and goes to left side. sometimes after i masturbate i get very very strong pain from all my testicles that i cant even stand, sit or touch it.it hurts so much and can stay for two three hours. so, my only question is all my tests came out as normal. so can my hernia cause this problem? and can this be because of adrenal fatigue as i havent done any tests for it? thanks a lot!!!
-Reduced energy, depression; again, possibly side-effects. -Colder penis temperature and lighter glans color, also when in the firm+flaccid state. When erect, or after taking a warm bath, the reddish/purple color returns to the glans. -Hemorrhoids, which may or may not have been present when the penile symptoms started. -Back pain in the lower-left thoracic region. -More flatulence than usual. -Pain in the perineum - possibly related to hemorrhoids.
It has shown some positive reaction in men for sperm counts. But, there are some side effects (moodiness, vision issues). He will now be on Arimidex for the same thing. Crazy, eh - it is an off label use of Clomid and the jury is still out. Dnkikki: Congrats on the finals being done! Mommyin09: Yeahooo follies. That sounds really positive. Luvkayln: I understand the need to take some time off - the TTC pressure is hard - along with all of the watching and scheduling.
At present, Percocet 2 350 mg tabs every 6 hours. This was causing side effects, Bad headaches in the morning, plus chills like the flu. Otherwise I might have been able to stand it. The pain was there, just lessened it. Tonight, I tried a Banana and glass of Orange Juice like the Ultra Sound Radiologist told me Pregnant women use when experiencing leg cramps and no percocet tonight and just 2 tylenol and if helps a lot. If it is a Parathyroid needing to be removed.
