what can i do.. for leg pain below the knee's,,, a 10 of 1 to 10, Took arimidex for 5 years, have a clean bill of health.

Has anyone had problems with leg cramps on Tomoxifin? I was on Arimidex for 3 years and had extreme viginal dryness to the point of very painfull intercourse. Changed to Tomoxifin and my OBGYN prescribed Vagifem and problem solved for the dryness. BUT... now I have leg cramps all night long if I have been on my feet at all during the day. I had blood tests done and it showed low sodium, potasium and the BIN alittle low.

Is painfful intercourse a common side effect of Arimidex? I even have pain from just touching the vaginal area, plus burning from contact to various soaps except Ivory. Will this go away when I get off of Arimidex in 3 more years? My obgyn wants to give me estrogen cream but my oncologist is against it. What can I do to get relief? HELP!

2 months on tamoxifen, then Onc switched me to Arimidex in Feb 2004. I have had increasing debilitating severe pain in left hip, left foot and both hands. DEXA scan showed increased bone density loss to that of a DEXA scan done before bc (ordered by gastro due to 30+ yrs of steroids). BC surgeon prescribed Fosamax and Calcichew/Vit.D3. A bone scan showed osteo arthritis in both hips, hands and feet. No meds prescribed. I am on weekly injections of 12.5 mg methotrexate for Crohn's.

I have endometriosis stage 4, I had 2 surgeries in 2006, and my surgeon is putting me on Armidex to try to control the pain. Is this a common use for this medicine?

My bones have been effected by arthritis and then I found out I had Fibromyalgia ! My pain did increase when I started with the Arimidex and my doc put me on Tramadol, works most of the time for me . Really cold weather and damp do make it worse and I am now into thermal underwear lol ! I too feel like 90 when I wake too ! Not a good start to the day . I also do the shuffle to go to the loo in the mornings as my joints are all stiff .

I started taking Arimidex about five months ago. Since then I have had many of the typical side effects such as hand/joint pain, neuropathy in my hands, hot flashes, wakefulness at night etc. However, my sight in one eye has also begun to noticeably deteriorate. I know, because I had my eyes checked and a new eye prescription just before I started taking Arimidex. I saw my eye doctor again last week and my vision has deteriorated from 20/40 to 20/70 (with correction) in just a few months.

Thank you for responding; it's so reassuring to know I may not have permanent damage from Femara. Novartis said in the report I obtained on line that most symptoms abate after about 30 days. I have read some things on another site about a young woman about 42 who stuck it out 6 years and never regained her pain free status. I know we are all different & react differently. Did you first try Arimidex or Femara? My Onco.

t any osteoporous Femara causes swelling and bone pain I switch to Arimidex after being off Femara for 2 weeks and am not having the pain. Please look in to Femara side effects and possible changeing to another drug. I even was in physical therapy for two months because I thought it was me but no it was the drug..

Could it be your tamoxifen causing the joint pain? I took Arimidex for 6 months until joint pain started moving thoughout. Switched to Aromasin and the joint pain stopped. 18 month later now my hips are starting to hurt pretty regularily, will discuss with oncologist next visit. Basically blocking all the Estrogen is not a great thing for the joints.

I thought I was getting along well with Arimidex but began to have severe knee pain that caused me to limp during the day and woke me at night. I'm just starting Femara.

This time it mastisized to my right femur which was treated with 10 treatments of radiation. The breast was removed. I have been on Arimidex 6 years now. insitu underwent lumpectomy left breast with lympnodes removed 1 positive, had 33 radiation treatment and am taking Arimidex.

I am taking Arimidex (dx May 2007, IDC, 1 cm., grade 3, negative lymph nodes; had lumpectomy, sentinel node biopsy, chemo, radiation; I was 54 and perimenopausal at time of dx and chemo put me in menopause.) I also now occasionally consult a holistic MD (referred by my oncologist) for nutritional advice.

s been 9 months now since I started Arimidex and so far, the side effects are (Thank God) minimal.I too have arthritis and the pain is really not much worse than before.Each person reacts differently to certain medications and if you see that the Arimidex does give you too many problems,your oncologist can prescribe another one that will suit you better.

I am posting again to ask a question my friend that is taking Arimidex for grade 1 breast cancer. She has been taking Arimidex for about 6 months now and has had a hallucination. Has anyone had this happen. I read it may be a rare side effect but it isn't on the package insert.

I have been on Arimidex for 4 months Femara first two months but the muscle pain was to severe. Not to many effects in the first two months-of Arimidex- just a headache and some joint pain are my side effects. My surgeon ordered my Onco-I was a 17 with 8 percent rate of distant mets in 10 years low chance of recurrence for me. I will probably feel better when time passes as you say.. My doctors tell me I have a good prognosis. .
