arimidex

Avatar n tn Oh well I guess I have no other option. Any thoughts? How bad are your side effects and do they disappear eventually?
Avatar m tn The endocrinologist wants to put him on that. I'm reading side effects and I don't feel comfortable giving it to him. I am going for second opinion. Just wanted to see if any other parents had experience with this drug.
Avatar n tn Shortly after I started the drug, I started having hot flashes and bad leg cramps. My doctor then prescribed Effexor for those side effects. I started at 37.5 mg and worked up to 75mg which I took for 5 years. A month ago he changed my prescription to 37.5 mg and said to stop once the medicine ran out. I took my last pill 3 days ago. I feel horrible. I have nausea, dizziness, a swoshing feeling when I turn my head from side to side and just feel bad overall. I have been cranky and moody.
Avatar n tn A Web site to visit for information about the side effects of Arimidex and the various chemotherapies is www.chemocare.com Best wishes...
Avatar m tn t believe you will see much hair growth. For further information on side effects from Arimidex the enclosed link is to an Arimidex Forum, check it: http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=20541&name=arimidex Don't forget Arimidex is an Estrogen Inhibitor, that should give you a clue on what to expect. Take your time and read all you can from the enclosed forum link. Best regards.
Avatar m tn Oh, I answered on the other thread you wrote on. I had asked about specifics for your son. So, he is 10 and 5 foot 1. Precocious puberty is normally when puberty sets in before 9 1/2 but suppose you are pretty close to that. How was your son diagnosed? What tests did they run? Lupron, as I wrote in my previous post seems to have some negative side effects associated with it. One lasting one is thin bone density. But women are much more plagued by that than men.
Avatar n tn i. symptoms be a side effect of anastrozole (arimidex)? I have been taking it for 3 1/2 years, after 1 year on tamoxifen, following lumpectomy, chemo and radiation.
Avatar m tn Both my DH and her husband are now going off of the Clomid for the side effects (moodiness, vision issues) - so I might check into other alternatives. Your dosage seems a bit high - my DH was on 25 mg. Most women are first on 50 mg. Clomid does not start to take effect for 3 mos. There is not much info out there on this, so it is frustrating. My DH has now been prescribed Arimidex. He had some past success with his count using this.
Avatar m tn Armidex may not prolong his growth period much longer with such an advanced bone age, it is a medication used to block estrogen effect, also used in breast cancer, there are concerns with the liver but if monitored carefully most have few side effects. However with a bone age of 17 1/2 growth is near completion. I would work with the peds endocrinologist and talk with them to discuss your concerns, plan of care and monitoring.
Avatar f tn m not sure if it was just a mistake or if you intentionally made this a poll between Arimidex and its side effects, or breast cancer. If so, only your vote counts. You are the only one who can decide what is the best decision for you. I didn't see any question in your post, but if you do have one, we'd be glad to try to help.
Avatar n tn I had tolerated the Tamoxifen very well for two years - few side effects. I was switched to Arimidex in late 2008 and have been on it since. I am a pretty healthy (other than the BC) - 52 year old. I am physically active and appropriate weight for my body type and size. I have stiffness in the morning mostly - or if I sit at my desk for a long time. Once I am up and about it takes a couple of minutes - but I am pretty unaffected once I get rolling.
Avatar n tn the most common side effects seen with ARIMIDEX include hot flashes, joint symptoms, weakness, mood changes, pain, sore throat, nausea and vomiting, depression, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, swelling of arms/legs, and headache. Fractures (including fractures of the spine, hip, and wrist) occurred more frequently with ARIMIDEX than with tamoxifen (10% vs 7%). As for the burning...I,personally,have never been able to use anything but Ivory. Allergies.
Avatar n tn Since then I have had many of the typical side effects such as hand/joint pain, neuropathy in my hands, hot flashes, wakefulness at night etc. However, my sight in one eye has also begun to noticeably deteriorate. I know, because I had my eyes checked and a new eye prescription just before I started taking Arimidex. I saw my eye doctor again last week and my vision has deteriorated from 20/40 to 20/70 (with correction) in just a few months.
Avatar n tn Well, for me Arimidex was so very horrible, I barely lasted three days on it. I was in an almost catatonic state of depression two hours after I took the first dose, and then got just about every other bad side effect soon after. Femara, in comparison, relative to the other, was not so bad at all and I lasted almost thirty days. But not every woman has the same problems, or any at all. Many though do have some problems.
Avatar n tn Before making your decision, my suggestion is for you to look up the list of potential side effects of Taxotere, Cytoxan and Arimidex and see if these are things you can put up with for the long term. You may also wish to speak with other people who have actually used this regimen to see what how they reacted to these drugs.
Avatar f tn Anyone taking Arimidex or has taken it in the past. I am looking for feedback if it helped lower the ca 125??? My CA 125 is rising from 93 to 156 and now in the 230's... however nothing has changed on my pet scan and no measurable disease... I am seeing my onc on Monday...and he had recommended to try if i want Arimidex. I have other options like trying different chemo's... but then we are just treating the number... I wanted to give this a try.... what do you think...
Avatar n tn i. symptoms be a side effect of anastrozole (arimidex)? I have been taking it for 3 1/2 years, after 1 year on tamoxifen, following lumpectomy, chemo and radiation. Thanks for any feedback, Laurie .
Avatar n tn Arimidex does have fatigue as one of it's side effects while Herceptin does cause weakness but I doubt what you are experiencing is from your treatment in 2009. I would think that Arimidex is the culprit in this case. Regards ....
Avatar f tn My friend has been taking Arimidex for two years and has all the usual side effects--hot flashes, muscle aches, lack of sleep but, in spite of all her exercising and walking and careful eating, all of the weight gain has been in her stomach and she is at a loss of what to do to lose it. Nothing seems to work and she's very unhappy with that particular location? Anyone else know of weight gain from the drug at that spot specifically?
Avatar n tn I have been taking Arimidex for almost 2 years. Outside of hot-flashes, no other side-effects. About 3 weeks I got a rash or acne in a small area on my face. It now goes over my nose, on my upper lip and some on lower lip areas. Iam 57 and always had a good complection so I'm not sure if this is acne or a rash. Could this be caused by Arimidex?
