I also walk and follow a low-fat diet but these do not seem to be making a difference but then perhaps I would have put on more weight without the diet and exercise. I really think that the weight gain has more to do with being pushed straight into menopause and I hope that it will settle in time. I have experienced sore muscles and joints as well but persist with walking and Pilates.

I have now nearly completed 5 years of Arimidex, My Oncologist ir recommending that in October I change to Femara secondary to a clinical trial which has concluded that I am at some risk of the cancer still recurring. I am unsure about this as the side effects of the arimidex hot flashes, weight gain etc causing me to be on a high dose of Effexor are quite debilitating at times. What are my risks if I choose to just stop the Arimidex and not continue with a change to Femara...

3500 calories equals one pound of weight. Like any other diet, it's what goes in calorie wise and what makes it burn off exercise wise that makes any difference while losing weight. Lower calorie intake, burning more calories with exercise equals weight loss. It's not fun, it's not easy. And with the menopause that comes on with arimedex or any AI doesn't make it easier.

At 6 weeks i gain a lot so far and i feel more of if i was bloated. i dont know if im just being crazy or it could really because i had a good feeling that i was pregnant so could it be possible.

I learned that some weman experienced elevated blood pressure and blood clots while on Arimidex. And Arimidex is known to cause high blood pressure and blood clots. How do know for sure that Arimidex is the cause of my high blood pressure?

My doctor said all the weight you gain before 20 weeks is all you. All the weight u gain after is all baby. That's if you are still eating healthy and staying on track! So that was good news because I didn't start gaining till 21 weeks and then it really started coming on!

ve recently started Arimidex 5 days ago and again noticed dry eyes and my vision does not seem as clear once again. I have to believe that it's the Arimidex and Tamoxifin.

Typically, weight loss or inability to gain weight is a symptom of hyper, and weight gain or inability to lose weight is a symptom of hypo. Are you having a hard time losing weight now while hyper?

My concern is that once I get my ovaries removed, (within the next few months hopefully) and I go through instant menopause, I will gain even more weight. I was on Tamoxifen for 21 months until the shortness of breath I had reported to my oncologist at Labor Day turned out to be a severe case of pulmonary embolisms (and a week in the hospital) at New Year's. I was switched to Armidex in January 2005 and soam only a month away from 5 full years on one or the other of these medicines. I remember that most women are on Tamoxifen for five years; are there any such guidelines for Armidex or a combination of Tamoxifen/Armidex? Thank you.

So im 33 weeks 4 days and my son wont gain any weight. Hes Only 2lbs 4 oz and thats way too small for his digestional stage. I dont know what to do anymore. I eat lika cow. I learned that Aromasin and Arimidex are quite different. Aromasin permanently binds to the Aromatase and Arimidex is temporary. I'll have to do more research about what that means chemically.

SSRIs imo do have a rep for weight gain, although they can vary from each person. I took Paxil and gained weight. And to this day I won't take any more SSRIs. I tried other SSRIs as well just to be sure and not be biased. I been reliant on Klonopin for years now. No more issues with Weight Gain.

I didnt start gaining Weight till 18 weeks and I gained it really slowly till about where your at then my appetite went crazy and I até whatever I wanted, now ive gained 19lbs and im 31 weeks. t used Femara yet. I started on Arimidex and after 6 months had to switch to Aromasin because with Arimidex moving my thumbs became extremely painful and it was moving into my elbow and then my hip. Things improved dramatically, then after a year on Aromasin my hips started aching and I dreaded getting out of bed and standing up. I am convinced it is due to the Aromasin. I'm just 53 so that seemed ridiculous.

Has anyone experienced a full face full of acne for a prolonged period after starting Arimidex? It is my friend who had breast cancer and she is blind and wants to write for her. She also has Lupus but she has seen a dermatologist and rheumatologist and they dismiss it as acne. She knows she is out of remission with discoid lupus. But they assured her the 'acne" is not lupus breakout.
