I don't know much about this at all, but I just heard an oncologist mention that prozac is one of those meds that make Arimedex less effective.
Now I have a question myself as my doctor wants me to switch from Tamoxifen to Armedex. I know for the latter one has to be post menopausal and that Tamoxifen is for pre menopausal. But do you or anyone know if Tamoxifen also works if you have become post menopausal?

I was informed on January 21, 2008 that I must take arimedex to prevent the cancer from returning. I have not yet done so in that I am now suffering from severe joint pain and stiffness, enough that I am awakened throughout the night.(even if I have taken the prescribed sleeping and pain medication). I am on an anti-inflammatory diet.
i took arimedex, then femora and now have started tamoxifen. I have severe joint and bone pain that the first doc said was't a side effect. I went to another doc(well known onocologist) and he said it is a side effect of these medicines. Now i am looking at the other questions about these meds and it makes me really angry that the other doc was telling me it was all in my head and so many people are experiencing the same thing. .
Because I have already gone thru mena pause, I do not like having the effects of the drug Arimedex repeating them. I am experiencing joint pain, numbness of hands and arms upon awaking , hot flashes,mental confusion.I would like to not take the drug or anything similar suggested. What can I do? I have had chemo and 35 sessions of radiation.

I saw a paper from canada9 funded by novartis suggesting the femara have shown better survival figures than tamoxifen. Is femara better than arimedex? have you seen this paper.
Has anyone dc'd the arimedex and had memory clear up?

Now i have burning and a pain sensation which happens mostly during the night. I am on arimedex for the past 5 months. Could this be caused by this medication? My oncologist took me off the medication for 3 weeks and it hasn"t gotten better.

One of them, however, recommended the 5-0 version of the lens rather than the new HD, while the other recommended the HD (although he had no first hand experience with it). The surgeon that recommended the 5-0 said that the experience in her practise has been that the HD seems to sacrifice distance vision in order to get better near vision. She said that there was a "button" at the center of the HD that is not there on the 5-0.
I have been taking Arimidex for 2 years, and all symptoms increase, including CHF. Are these symptoms Arimedex related?
He used a Crystalens HD 10 to do that (strongest available Crystalens HD). He intended to use a stronger Crystalens HD (probably about a 8.5 or a 9) in my right (dominant) eye but he did not realize until he tried to order the Crystalens HD for the right eye that it was not available in the correct power. He wanted me to wait for the Crystalens HD to become available in the correct power to get me to plano in the right eye.
Could anyone who has the Crystalens HD AO implanted, please share their experience and level of satisfaction with the lens?
t finalized the lens choice yet, but I am leaning toward Crystalens HD. The doctor claimed that the HD costs him quite a bit more than the plain Crystalens, although he isn't yet passing those extra costs along.
Are you aware of a wholesale and/or retail cost difference between Crystalens and Crystalens HD?
Any thoughts on the study linking HD to HPV in women and presumably men? They say non dangerous strains increase risk by 2 and dangerous strains by 3. What does that mean in real terms? They say 1/5 of all HD could be solely from HPV. I was wondering if persistence is the reason.
In 2015 HD researchers started a small sample of clinical trials in California on individuals who were recently diagnosed with HD. The 1st clinical trial was to test the safety of the medication and the 2nd trial was to test if the medication treated what it was suppose to treat which was to stop the progression of HD symptoms. What are the latest updates on the 2 trials?
Implanting the HD is a bit trickier and requires a surgeon with experience with it. Even trickier to explant. I am still doing the B&L word puzzles to exercise the ciliary muscle in my right eye (eye patch over the left). I don't get full accommodation, but enough to have excellent vision from 2 ft out.
The only problem with the HD is looking at bright sharp lights in a dim environment. I see "spider web" flares. But, the Restor helps to offset this.
I am 29 years old and have a history of HD in my family. My father has begun to show what I deem to be some signs of having this disease and I have begun noticing random tiny muscle spasms in my arms (mostly triceps and biceps), legs (quads and calves) and some in my stomach even. Please advise if I should be worried or if this could just be attributed to the stress of thinking about my father suffering.
These are not really twitches as I have seen in my uncle who suffered from HD.
I have Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma was treated with cvs chemo for two years, also have Invasive Lobular Carcinoma resulting in a masectomy, tried femara, faslodex,arimedex,and tamoxifin for 4 years. Had two hip replacements in the last 2 years, suffer from a cognitive disorder from all the chemo, and have sever depression. I cannot take any anti depressants due to suicidal tendicies. I take endocet for my pain . I cannot exercise as I used to due to the surgeries.
Congrats mine is on the 19th but I'm thinking about getting the 4d in HD live. But nobody I know has done the HD just the normal 4d so hopefully it goes well because its suppose to he better.
I am a little concerned.I am having Cataract surgery 8/25/09 and having a Crystaleds Hd put in.I am not sure if it's the 4th geration lens. Do you think I am making a mistake?

I got crystalens HD installed in my left eye on Feb 25, 2009. The operation went well and I am healing. My distant vision is not crystal clear since there is slight double vision. My intermediate and near vision is quite bad due to double vision hence I cannot read. My surgeon says that I have slight astigmatism which can be corrected by lasik and will take care of my distant vision. For intermediate and near vision I will have to use glasses.
The best way you can attempt to have a positive outcome is to find the most highly experienced and qualified surgeon you can, with the most references, who has been implanting the HD regularly with a high number of satisfied patients. Since the HD just came out in July it might be several months before the best surgeons will have knowledge of which patients have the least problems with it.
most of us with Crystalens need readers for small print and computer, although some patients with the newer HD have posted that they could see close up but not far away! Sounds like you had a pretty good outcome.
