Avatar f tn During long periods of time that I didn't eat. I had granola bars, fiber one bars, cereal bars, etc. Those are great camping snacks. Trail mix, nothing super salty cause you'll drink more water which could mean more potty breaks. Haha Just stay hydrated. And have fun.

Avatar n tn When we discussed this with our nutritionist we were told to try to find one that we enjoy and not to worry about whether it is protein or starch. These protein bars are supposed to a balance meal in a bar. The ones made for diabetics are designed to help keep blood sugars level. We have found the Zone bars, and the bars that are low carbs (they say to count as a lower carb. than on the label.) Have worked better for keeping our daughters blood sugars in line.
Avatar f tn By protein bars I mean Balance or Power bars. A lot of times I will eat them for lunch as well. I have eaten them for all three meals, although that is not typical. At least one if not two meals is typical for me. I have a lot of digestive and health problems and I'm starting to wonder how bad this habit is on my health. Where are some good resources for me to read about this? Thanks!

Avatar f tn Southbeach and special K make high protein bars that have 10-12 gms protein and are low in calories. I also eat string cheese, cottage cheese, tuna, and snack on salted cashews. I eat vegetables with salt, and fat free margarine. You can eat the whole package. It seems the more protein, less sugar plus I do take fiber, I feel better diet wise. They also make antioxidant fiber bars you could snack on. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Find things that are healthy--- my kids just got into flavored beef jerkey which is low in fat and high in protein. We do protein bars, salty (nut) and sweet bars (honey and yogurt), cheese sticks, yogurt, etc. And I offer these things often. Is your son dropping off his growth chart??

Well, my honeymood period is ending, so i know im gonna have to start eating on time, and doign what is needed. My question, im a reallly picky eater, and being a diabteic dosnt help that out much.

I also take the vitamins and minerals but not sure if they are helping. I'll keep taking them though. Kaceyv, what meds do you take that slow your colon down?

I do, however, have a container of the Herbalife protein powder and when I am on my running regimen I add it to one shake per day. I don't notice a change in the taste at all, it still tastes just like whichever flavor of shake I have added it to. Hope this helps Cheyenne. About half hour after a run is a great time to get in some protein.

I started buying Luna bars (I buy Carmel Chocolate Brownie, yum!) but I'm trying SpecialK bars this week because they have an extra gram of protein compared to Luna. Example of an entire day: Boiled eggs or egg whites on toast for breakfast, yogurt for a snack, some walnuts or almonds or chicken on a salad for lunch, and a nice chicken breast with steamed veggies for dinner.

Cliff bars, luna bars, special k brand stuff are all fine for us to eat. Ive also been really lucky too my cravings have mainly been for fruits and veggies which helps!
