cozaar

Avatar f tn What weight loss supplements are safe to take while on hyzaar and cozaar for high blood pressure
Avatar m tn It should work. Mayo Clinic was involved in some of that testing and they used Diovan. the angiotensin drugs all work the same on fibrosis.
Avatar m tn Only insofar as I have read about the air gun and the high incidence of Hep C among Veterans who were innoculated by this method.
Avatar m tn I have been to the ER with low pulse rate and they ran some blood test and did x rays and found no heart problems. Could it just be the medication? Is there an alternative to the Hyzaar?
Avatar n tn Can you go have the Cozaar filled at another pharmacy?
Avatar f tn I just returned from my first appt w/ my new Dr. She says that I should be on lisinopril "to protect my kidneys". I have had diabetes for 35 years and never had a test come back indicating that I am "spilling protiens". My BP is 104/70 A1c is about 7.3.Very good health, no heart problems etc. Is this just a standard/ routine prescription for diabetics now...like aspirin?
222369 tn?1274474635 Hi Ga Guy, I went from 298 in December to 254 now and I am taking the similar Angiotensin Receptor Blocker, Diovan and have been on 80 mg for the last 2 years. With the loss of 44 pounds, I too ended up with very low blood pressure and went to the doctor about it, he cut me back to 60 mg now and suggested that I take my blood pressure every day and monitor if the 60 mg is low enough or not.
1008841 tn?1293598960 There was a recent thread on this forum regarding fibrosis regression and blood pressure drugs (specifically Cozaar, Losartan, etc. the ARB class). If you look back over the past month this thread should be available. There are a variety of related comments in the thread. I got on Cozaar for my tx induced high BP specifically for this reason! I had read studies about Cozaar being beneficial for ED, Fibrosis, and depression...
Avatar f tn I have been told that it is hereditary and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I am on metoprolol tartare 25 mg. and hyzaar 100/25, both taken 1 qd. hyzaar in am and meto... in pm. We are talking that within 2 years I will have a valve replacement (when it reaches 5.0 cm). Is there anything I can do to stop the progression?
Avatar m tn What thyroid medication are you taking and what dosage? Also, please post your thyroid test results and their reference ranges shown on the lab report.
Avatar m tn I went back to Walgreens and asked the pharmacist if there was any chance that the Apotex was inferior/impotent to the Cozaar for some reason. She assured me that could not be the case and that there could be no difference. Losartan is Losartan is Losartan. As an experiment(with GP consensus), I doubled my dose of Apotex Losartan from 50 to 100 mg a day for one week. No change in BP. I am baffled. GP does not have a clue either. I want to try going back to Cozaar. Sound reasonable?
Avatar n tn Genetic's doctor spoke of two beta blocking drugs for 'aorta root dilatation'. Atenalo and Cozaar. In reading about these in pill book, I already suffer from cold spots in the extremities, kidney problems at times and several of the other nasty's listed as side effects, etc. Have a hard time keeping weight on me[130 lbs -5' 5 1/2"], low body temperature [97]. Blood pressure today-108 / 60.
Avatar m tn Drugs like Ramapril or verapamil are widely used and are ace inhibitors. They work in a different way to the medication you are on and personally I had no symptoms during the year I was on Ramapril. You must ask your GP because there may be a good reason why your medication was chosen over ace inhibitors. I take it you are not diabetic, your medication can raise glucose levels in the blood. It also affects the level of potassium in your blood which can affect heart function.
Avatar n tn m sorry to hear about your cousin, my thoughts and prayers are with your family. The only thing that I do know about Marfan's is that it is hereditary and it can lead to problems with the heart. I know that people with Marfan's are more susceptible to aneurysms and other cardiac problems. You may want to post on the autoimmune disorder board. I have seen people on there that have discussed Marfan's since it is considered a connective tissue disorder.
Avatar m tn I wake up with numb hands alot sometimes up my arms too. Pressure is normal and I am on Crestor at the maximum dose, toprol xl, coumadin, plavix, hyzaar, aciphex, hay fever meds. Also, for the last 6 months my Mean corpusle size has been high. Other tests ok... so my doctor is not real concerned. Anyhow, I am alittle concerned. Do you folks have any ideas at Med whatever this is?
Avatar f tn Just wanted to know if losartan(Cozaar) is the best option for an alcoholic with gout and high blood pressure? Of course, the best scenario would be to completely delete alcohol out of the equation, but it is not an option at this time for the person involved.
Avatar f tn s advocate, I want to be armed with good information before we talk to his primary. He presently is not taking the Cozaar or Plavix and I am worried.
Avatar m tn They initially wanted to put me on Lisinopril, but I was on that previously and I had a terrible, nagging cough the entire time. I've read that ACE Inhibitors are preferable to ARBs, though, when it comes to CHF. Should I try another ACE, or would all of them be likely to cause a cough since the Lisinopril did? Or is the Cozaar good enough? (Some places even suggest taking an ACE along with an ARB...is that a good idea?) Blood Thinners: Should I be taking one?
Avatar m tn Someone ( a friend who is an RN) suggested it was rebound hyper tension due to stopping the HCTZ all at once and putting me on a beta blocker at the same time. Has anyone ever gone through this.
116881 tn?1189755823 Yes it will get better. I was on 5 mg and had the same feelings you are having. I have slightly high BP, not really enough for meds but I also have PVC's which was the main reason for going on it. I also had slow heart rate at first and felt a bit out of it but after a short while it got much better to the point it does not feel like I am on anything.
Avatar n tn In fact my bp did not change when we added it to my regime of toprol and norvasc. The beta blockers used for late stage cirrhosis are not the same ones used mainly for bp in patients. They are highly selective from what I understand. In other words if I needed onem, which I don't, it wouldn't be toprol.
Avatar f tn In my opinion, experience and search Coreg is the best and main medication (with other pills) if you have low EF. Up until the EF improves like a year or more good to be on Coreg. If your doctor says not for you, ask him to explain why?
1198633 tn?1341182388 I was weaned from Coreg by taking just my dosage at night and skipping the morning one for two weeks and then to stop. Since about a week after I cut down to once a day I started to notice a constant pounding heart. I'm now 2 days off of it totally and I've just been a but sensitive to physical activity as my heart rate will go up to about 100 bpm walking around and having a bit of shortness of breath on and off.
