In case of ureter stone, urine usually shows infection and ultrasound is diagnostic, pain is usually radiating in nature. Avatar n tn Unless the area is swollen and severely infected the tenderness may be noted when the skin is palpated. The pain of appendicitis is severe and may be influenced by movement and certain positions. I suggest immediate consult with your doctor.
Avatar f tn You might have a urinary tract infection Or an Ovarian Cyst and maybe Appendicitis it could be a number of things But to make sure you have to go to the gynecologist and if you dont have one the hospital, It could be Anything but to get the Right diagnosis and proper treatment you have to get checked out
Avatar f tn Hello LG0526, You are having two conditions simultaneously which need different treatment plan. Control of infection would need a course of the next generation antibiotics like ertapenam or cilastatin or meropenam antibiotics. That would control and cure the infection. The treatment of renal stones would need surgery or lithotripsy based on the size of the stone. Smaller sized stones are preferably treated with lithotripsy.
Avatar f tn I have been to the doctors for tests for appendicitis when I had severe pain in my lower abdomen. They ran a few tests, try these Raise one leg at a time, keep the other flat, if you get pain in the lower right area you are more likely to have appendicitis. The best test for it is to push down hard on the area of pain, if you get severepain when you let go, that is bad and I recommend you visit your doctor.
Avatar n tn Both that I did find indicated a fairly high frequency of appendicitis within 18 months of gallbladder removal. Hopefully, they are wrong, I have about 6 months to go.
Avatar n tn CT gave me the answer that I was looking for....appendicitis. A few hours later and I was out of surgery. As far as the central stomach pains, I was told by the ER Dr. that appendicitis often causes central upper abdominal pain......

Avatar m tn I know you will say I need checked out and I agree in my brain, but the other part of my brain wants to know if these long pain free periods over the course of 3 or so months without a perforation are typical of appendicitis issues? So, in summary, I am curious about the long course of this and the pain free periods. Thank you.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar f tn now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
Avatar n tn What you describe could be a number of things, including pancreatitis, appendicitis, diverticulitis, ... or something else altogether. This set of symptoms doesn't seem to be the type one can afford to ignore. Pls see a doc/urgent care right away. Hope you'll write again to let us know how you're doing.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar m tn I took plan B on the last day of my period which was december 25th and starting on the 29th i had soreness in what seems like right above the ovaries, a pain on each side of my abdomen. I also have this pulsating around my belly button and it will shoot down to the right side then give me back pain. I also have headaches and have gotten easily hot and overheated during the night. I know im not pregnant because ive testes and JUST came off my period and it was normal. Could this be my apendix?
Avatar f tn Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere.

Avatar f tn I felt much better outside of mild abdominal discomfort from gas still. Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?
Avatar f tn From what I understand you usually have pain starting near the belly button and it moves the right side. You usually will have nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, fever, and chills. Were you able to be seen by a doctor for the pain since you posted? How are you doing now?
Avatar n tn Hello. I'm a male in my late 20s, body type is normal or slim. I have a stinging pain in lower right side of abdominal(similar place where the appendix is) and the pain is appeared irregulary(especially when lying on my back). I don't feel this pain in normal or during working somthing else but the pain always occurs when I lie on my back with stretched legs(so, I have been sleeping on my side bending my right knee for about 2 years as I can't lie on my back).
Avatar f tn HI, Right lower quadrant pain can be due to ovarian cyst or appendicitis. The intermittent nature of the pain is typical of appendicitis. However it can also be found when the ovarian cyst undergoes torsion. The fever suggests the possibility of infection. Hence it would be best to see your Doctor again. Once a correct diagnosis is made the appropriate treatment can be initiated. The answer is based on information provided.
Avatar n tn Once I had 4 hours of surgery, I was informed that my appendix, 1/2 of my bowel, the top of my large intestine and the bottom of my small intestine were removed. I was in hospital for 30 days and in that time contracted Spesis. After 18 days I was allowed to start eating low fibre foods after just having water for that time and after a few months began eating fairly normal. I have been finding I am getting lower stomach pains often and sometimes after I eat.
Avatar n tn Have you taken him to the doctors or ER? It could be anything as normal as Appendicitis to something far more serious. The symptoms are too vague. But starting somewhere would be helpful. The doctors could rule out appendicitis and go from there.
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar m tn I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis. But I pestered him with questions about my symptoms. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness. Ficolith inside the appendicitis and advised to remove it whenever you feel free but not an emergency. The Gastroenterologist was not convinced and he asked me to take a Contrast enhanced CT.
