Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis symptoms leg pain

appendicitis

Avatar m tn It subsides after a couple of hours and there are no residual symptoms. No fever, etc. only very localized LRQ pain. It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses.
Avatar f tn .... I just realized I said "shooting pain down my right leg," I did mean left. I'm experiencing shooting pain down my *left leg. Sorry about that...
Avatar f tn Lower abdominal (slightly above my right leg/below my belly button. Only on my right side.) Pain how to releave it and sleep comfortably.
Avatar f tn I slept like around midnight, and since then I have been waking up a few times with the pain still there. My right leg started hurting but the pain is not that severe, and my right lower back is also in pain. I woke up at 7 a.m this morning and the pain is still there. I do not feel like vomiting or nauseous, and neither have I lost my appetite. I have been with this pain for about 10 hours now, would I happen to be presenting signs of appendicitis?
Avatar n tn I have seen cases where it lasts quite awhile before becoming really inflammed. With you having back pain and pain down your leg, you may have a herniated disc. I have sciatica and that's what caused mine. I would see a gastroenterologist to verify that the bright red blood you see is indeed from hemorrhoids....I feel it is, but it will give you some peace of mind to find out for sure. There are several things this could be, and it's good that your are ruling them out one by one.
Avatar n tn It has general symptoms with the fever and nausea and pain..and then goes away without treatment...Does it get worse when she lays flat? Occur at only bedtime or at night? Any sweats with it? dizziness? Bowel movement changes? If it occurs during the day as well, it could be a food allergy with "leaky gut" syndrome...This can cause poor vitamin b absorption and lead to other problems...With appendicitis she would want to lay very still and with a leg drawn up...
Avatar m tn At first my mom and i thought it was food poisoning or stomach flu and decided to treat it at home with prescribed medications, however in the last two days i started feeling a not so intense dull pain in the middle of my ribcage, it then moved further to my stomach, pelvis and even leg and back, my first thought was that it could indicate appendicitis, given how it runs on my dads side of the family, but im not quite sure, the pain is not as severe as it should be, i can walk, cough and eat ju
Avatar f tn I have had 2 CT scans prior to my initial diagnosis- because i was having pain on the right side to rule out appendicitis. They came back ok. The first scan there was a little inflammation near the appendix that went away with the second CT. Other that all was apparently normal. I still get dull pain on my right side but i take probiotics and this seems to help it. I am just worried by these attacks because they don't seem like ibs- from what i have studied about the symptoms.
Avatar f tn I am still experiencing some pain, but now the majority of my pain is in my leg. Close to where it ruptured and down midways on the inside of my leg. Sometimes its sharp. But it makes my whole leg hurt. Is this normal? Is this something that will eventually stop? I have been scared it was a blood clot because of the rupture. It just gets me that 12 days later I am still experiencing any pain from this.

Avatar f tn I was prescribed an antibiotic, but a week later symptoms were still there. Pain then started around 4 weeks ago in my upper right abdomen and in my right hip. It wasn’t excruciating then but it was enough for me to visit my doctor. Actually the hip pain could be stabbing at times (bad enough to actually wake me at night), and the rest of the time it’s a constant dull ache. The pain is now also radiating down my thigh to my knee and groin, as well as having a constant back ache.
Avatar f tn Could it still be appendicitis? I have almost no pain, just a little pressure on the right side. I’m just worried of an appendix rupture.
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Abdominal pain) The pain may be minor at first, but it becomes more sharp and severe. Your appetite will be reduced and you may have nausea, vomiting, and a low fever. As the swelling in the appendix increases, the pain tends to move into your right lower abdomen. It focuses right above the appendix at a place called McBurney's point. This most often occurs 12 to 24 hours after the illness starts.

Avatar m tn I never took the antibiotics. The next day the local GP said no appendicitis. After 15 days still the symptoms continued occasionally and a went to a Gastroenterologist who advised to take Taxim-O an antibiotic. I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis. But I pestered him with questions about my symptoms. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness.
Avatar n tn These symptoms are suggestive of meralgia paraesthetica, which is numbness or pain in the outer thigh not due to any injury but due to injury to the nerve extending from thigh to spinal column. This disorder usually involves lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh. You would require an electromyogram to confirm the diagnosis. Treatment would include weight loss if obese, loose clothing, NSAIDs, pain modifying drugs for neuropathic pain. Consult with a neurologist at the earliest. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I've been dealing with Abdominal discomfort for about four weeks now. I get pain at times, but for the most part my stomach feels weird. I feel pulses at times and it growls at all times of the day especially when laying down. The pain is post persistent at night when I'm about to fall asleep. For the past four weeks I've had a degrees in appetite and I've lost about 10 pound. I'm 5'10 and weighed 205 and I'm about 195 now.
Avatar m tn I have this pain in the lower right region of my abdomen, Its not a pain in which I cannot walk but there is a pain there. I went to get blood work done because my cousin which is a Doctor wanted to rule out an appendicitis. The WBC count came back at 10.1 where the normal range for that laboratory I believe was from 5 to 10. My cousin said that is not significant enough to point towards appendicitis. My lymphocte percentage was low at 20.3 percent, and my mean platelet volume was also low 6.8.
Avatar f tn I am 26 years old and for the last 3 months just before my period i have been experiencing such bad pains mainly in my right hand side of my pelvis back and stomach, these pains are so bad i end up having loads of time off work, the pain also shoots down into my leg then causes it to be hard for me to walk, other symptoms are upset stomach just before these pains start, fatigue and depression.
Avatar f tn You need to see a Gastroenterologist for further evaluation, and to rule out gall bladder problems. Also, appendicitis can cause right leg pain, have they checked you for this?
Avatar n tn I am an otherwise healthy 39-year old male I would say, a bit of a hypochondriac, hence this post …Back in 2004 I had surgery for appendicitis and after my surgery the strangest thing happened….The center-outer part of my left thigh started burning.
